Behind jaded eyes

Brokencyde walked around outside the camp. He missed his one and only true love. "Lilydawn..." he whispered. He saw her! It HAD to be her! It looked just like her! "Lilydawn!" he cried out joyfully. She padded up to him and kissed him. Then his love raced away from him giggling. "Lilydawn! Lilydawn!" he cried. "Wait for me!" he yowled in objection. He raced after her his heart doing flips and his mouth smiling pleasantly. He felt like he was dreaming but he knew he was awake. He raced over the hill and stopped dead in his tracks. His heart went icy cold. 'Lilydawn' was lying there....dead. "No!!!" he screamed. "Not again! LILYDAWN NO!" he screamed. He blinked his eyes and nothing was there. He drank in the air, but he still tasted her scent. "Why does this keep on happening!?" he wailed. "Seeing her dead one time was hard enough!" he thought out loud. "I can't take it anymore!" he yowled tears pooling from his gorgeous eyes of green. "I miss you lilydawn!" he sobbed. "But i have to move on..." he wiped his eyes and rose to his feet. "But first i have to avenge your death my love.." he whispered softly.

With her body lying there motionless, lifeless, the she-cat opened her eyes. The eyes were the color of deepest, darkest blue. The eyes that belong to the world of midnight skies. Blood that dried up on her neck went away. They were not there anymore. Only small flashing, twinkling white stars began to dance their way around her. They caressed her midnight eyes, making her lips twitch with a hint of a smile. She lifted her tiny head, the one that was vulnerable in the mist of the darkness. Even the night when she was marked down. Death was gone from her eyes. A sound came out of her flawless muzzle, "Brokencyde..." By then, her body turned lighter, almost invivisible, like a ghost.

Brokencyde raced to her. "Lilydawn." he whispered in a light purr. "I've missed you so much...Why did you have to leave me?" he whimpered.

Lilydawn.

Cats always called her name when they needed her. She would look up and walk over to them, ears twitching, ready to listen to what they wanted her to do for them. But now...when her love called her name desperately with that familiar soft purr, she reacted by staggering to her paws. Her ears twitched as her dark blue eyes shone.

I've missed you so much...
Hearing what he said to her made her paws tingle with affection. He truly missed her. That made her eyes swell with love.

Why did you have to leave me?
Her heart ached with sorrow. She was not meant to abandon him on that fateful night. She was only doing her duty. To serve her clan by keeping watch. She did not mean this to happen. This made her sad and she tried her best to make him feel better, "I don't want to leave you..." Soft sobs built up inside her. "I missed you so much." She buried her face against his chest. "I don't want this. I am sorry." She repeated this over and over again.

Brokencyde gazed at her. His gaze sad and mixed with strong affection and love for the she-cat before him. 'I don't want to leave you..' he heard her say. His eyes brightened a little bit. "Then don't leave me...stay with me..Or meet me every night...I just...need you...If you leave then i don't know what i'm going to do...I can't live without your sweet scent, your voice, your affection, and your beauty...I've missed you Lilydawn. There's not been a day that went by that i haven't thought of you." he meowed

Her sleek gray tabby pelt was covered in the stars that settled in the fur. She shook them off. The stars fell to the ground as they rose to life again. They danced and swirled around her body. Lilydawn whispered into the broken hearted warrior's ear. Her voice was hardly a whisper as if she was nervous saying what she will tell him. "Yes, I will visit you every night." She rubbed her muzzle against his's. "I will walk in your dreams until the day you will join me in the stars." Her eyes were moist with tears.

Brokencyde smiled yet tears pooled from his eyes. He kissed Lilydawn sweetly. "I was afraid i'd never see you again." he whispered. "When you became my mate i was more alive than i've ever been in my whole life...or so i thought until now." he purred nuzzling her lovingly.

She giggled, nuzzling him back. It brought her to tears when she watched him hurt like this. She did not mean to do that to him. At the minute, she felt anger building inside her heart when she imagined a dark cat with eyes the color of every cat's blood. Fallowpaw. His fault. To cause this. Someone poked her gently on her spine. The poke made her move back and looked upon her mate's eyes once again. Her eyes were no longer moist. They burned with unexplained happiness. She purred to him, "I never got the chance to tell you something before..." She left the sentence uncompleted. "You were going to be a father." She gave him her most beautiful smile as she moved aside.

Two full grown cats stepped forward, their pelts ghost white and buried in stars like Lilydawn. One was dark gray tabby like her while other was pure white. They both have dark blue eyes like Lilydawn. Lilydawn looked at Brokencyde, "These are our kits." Now, her eyes were full of tears.

Brokencyde's jaw dropped. He stared at the two cats in shock. He recovered from the shock and padded up to the gray she-cat and nuzzled her lovignly. "I didn't even get to see you grow up." he purred in a whisper. "Starclan's lucky to have you...You're as beautiful as your mother." he meowed. He licked his daughters cheek lovingly. He gazed at his son affectionately. "Now look at that snowy pelt." he purred with a smile. "You know when i was younger i always said if i had kits i wanted one with a white pelt and your mother's gorgeous blue eyes." he purred to him. He smiled at Lilydawn. "You gave us two beautiful kits, but i couldn't be there for them." he meowed sadly.

Their son smiled about Brokencyde's compliment about his snowy pelt. "Mother told us a lot about you." Dipping his head toward his father, his dark blue eyes wandered on his sister. "I am Iceforest. If Mother were still alive, I would become MistClan's future leader." Stepping back, his sister stepped forward and touched noses with her father in friendly greeting. She blushed at the compliment that her father gave her. "Thank you," she kept her dark blue eyes on Brokencyde, like she won't trail them away. "I am Morningmist and like what my brother said, if Mother were still alive, I would become MistClan's dear medicine cat." Then she buried her beautiful head away with her paw. Lilydawn laid her head on her daughter's head, whispering in her ears. It sound like a purr. Lilydawn lifted her head and looked at her love, "Brokencyde, they will walk with me and you. Let us sleep." She laid her head on the younger gray tabby she-cat again. Her son settled next to his mother. The three StarClan cats' pelts blended together very strongly, too bright, but still, they remain beauitful as ever. "Love?" Lilydawn's soft voice reached the mortal warrior's ears.

Brokencyde felt tears fall from his eyes as his children told him what they would of been. "You would have made a fine leader Icefrost..." he whispered giving his son a lovingly lick on his head. He turned to his daughter. "Morningmist...You would of been an irreplacable medicine cat...it's a shame Mistclan's being deprived of you two...You would of been fine cats for the clan." he whispered. Brokencyde curled up next to Lilydawn. "I love you." he whispered then he slept.
