Stonefang and Waterlily had walked to the Mooncave. Tonight, Stonefang would retire and Waterlily would become the full medicine cat. He had no doubt she would succeed; she had always been a good apprentice to him; strong-willed, loyal, quick.
They sat outside the Mooncave, waiting for the other cats. He pondered whom she would see in StarClan when she slept, and what had happened to Demonstar when he died. DarknessClan was probably his home now.
His eyes flicked up to the moon. It was red. That couldn't be good.

Waterlily sat quietly next to Stonefang, looking at the horizon, looking for the other cats. The she seemed calm, her mind was buzzing with excitement like a hive of angery beez. She hoped StarClan would accept her as a medicine cat even though she was not clan born.
She looked at her paws nervously. She didn't know if she wanted the other cats to get here faster or slower. She squinked, trying to see anything that was moving towards them.

Appleblossom found her way to Mooncave. After her private brief meeting with Walldrop, she still could not forget the image of him. Her apprentice would guess this already, but she was not sure if Shadowpaw knew about this. She was not ready to tell her this yet. Sighing, she entered the cave and saw Waterlily and Stonefang. She greeted her old friend with a light touch on the noses. She stepped back and greeted the beautiful she-cat, "Greetings, Waterlily."

Waterlily smiled at Appleblossom. "Good evening Appleblossom." She said joyfully. Waterlily liked Appleblossom. She was very kind and wise. Of course, most of the medicine cats were. That thought made Waterlily more nervous. What if she can't live up to that. What is she can't heal as many cats. What if the clan doesn't like her ways. What if... she had to stop thinking like that. She didn't want to be jumping out of her fur every time someone gets hurt. She needs to think positive!

Appleblossom liked Waterlily too. Waterlily was young and mature for her age. She wished that her apprentice was like her. She signaled for her apprentice to come forward and greet other medicine cats. "Where are Fireflower and Cheetahstep?" She asked Stonefang in a merest whisper.

"I would assume they and their apprentice are either lost, or possibly late. Perhaps someone fell ill in thier clans?" Stonefang said, flicking his tail and looking over the horizon.

(Dry your tears cause I'm back! Been gone because it was my birthday on May 1st and I've been obsessing over my new game...) Fireflower had been held up from her herb gathering, and there had been an apprentice who'd stepped on a thistle, so Fireflower was running late for the medicine cat meeting this moon. The ginger tabby she-cat followed the scent trail of medicine cats, tangy with a scent of herbs, and her memory of previous trips. Soon, Fireflower had a visual of the other medicine cats. She could see Stonefang, Waterlily, and Appleblossom. Fireflower approached them as she greeted her fellow medicine cats with a nod of her head. "Greetings, Stonefang, Waterlily and Appleblossom. Fine night for a medicine cat meeting," she mewed brightly. "Sorry I'm so late... I've had to gather extra herbs while they were still fresh, plus I had a case where another cat stepped on a thistle." Fireflower paused as she searched for Cheetahstep's familiar spotted pelt. "I take it I wasn't the last to arrive... Cheetahstep isn't here..." she mewed quietly.

((YAY!! Welcome back, Thorn!(: ))
Appleblossom greeted the DawnClan medicine cat with a friendly grin. "Hello, Fireflower." She glanced at Stonefang, her eyes full of amusement, but did not say anything. She was worried about Cheetahstep. She was late those days.

((Fireflower is the DawnClan med cat))
"Greetings to you too, Appleblossom," Fireflower mewed, nodding in agreement. "Any news?" she asked Appleblossom, her eyes bright and friendly. The stars were bright tonight, and Fireflower interpreted this as a message from StarClan that they were watching the medicine cats. Fireflower wondered what they would share.

((Oops! Sorry!))
Appleblossom shook her head, "New leaf is kind to us. No one is sick....yet." The old medicine cat knew this to be true, but the news would not last that long. It would be a few moons before a cat appear at her den, whining about running noses, coughs, and fevers. Handling with sick cats is pain in the butt. Whenever she treated the sick cats, she would have to suffer endless whimpers and curses. But in the end, she was relieved when they got better. They would be back next season, but at least she would have enough time to deal with that.

"Evening, Fireflower." the old tom gave a gruff sort of smile, and looked at the moon again. His smile faded to a frown. "If Cheetahstep does not come soon, we may have to start without her." Stonefang mused, looking down again. He hoped he wasn't the only one who noticed the moon was a funny red colour.

Appleblossom noticed. If the moon was red, that is not good. Trouble is coming to all clans. But it was no surprise. Trouble always find its way. Sighing, she hoped she was not the only one who knew that the moon was a different color.

Waterlily looked up at the sky, following the gaze of everyone. The erie glow of the red moon made Waterlily shiver. The last thing the clans need is trouble. Waterlily hoped it was not to serious. With Demonstar dead, Waterlily thought they had gotten rid of all the trouble. What else could their be? Was the horrors of Demonstar just the outline of something worse? Waterlily bit her lip at the thought. What possibly could be worse? Fear now swelled up in Waterlily's body. StarClan watch over us she thought.

Shadowpaw stayed close to Appleblossom, about a couple paw steps behind. Her tail curled as she nervously glanced up at the moon. She didn't like the red glow it contained; it glared down at the medicine cats, threatening death to come. She shivered, but tried to cover it up. She nodded politely to the other medicine cats in greeting, not saying anything. She didn't know what she had gotten herself into, becoming a medicine cat apprentice, so she looked at the ground rather than the harsh moon or her mentor's gaze.

"Cheetahstep is always late. I am not going to be late!" Appleblossom's voice was thick with sarcasm. With a light tap on her apprentice's shoulder, "Let's go." The moon was still red, but she did not care about that. The only thing that Appleblossom cared about was reaching the cave and share tongues with her ancestors. "The star cats will tell us what will happen." It sound like a joke, but it was not. Her purple eyes were not twinkling anymore. Sighing, she walked ahead of other medicine cats, slowly entering the cave until she spotted familiar rocks. Settling down, she began to dream.
