Forestlight laid down in the nursery in her little nest, she had made up herself, along with all the other's just in case, her bed covered with bird feathers like all the others, birds weren't hard to catch, and the left over feathers were very soft and made great beds. It couldn't be helped that all the other nests had them all as well, Forestlight liked to be fair, she smiled and felt a bit lonely, without her friend Cloudsky nursing anymore she was all alone, with out anyone. She thought about it, and noticed how she really missed that little ball of fur running around in the nursery, she couldn't have been more proud of him, of her little Moonstreak.
Even though she had adopted him as a kit, she still considered him to be her's, she loved her time as a mother, she was so sad it had to end, she wish she could have more kits, ones that would truely be her own, so she would never have to tell him that he wasn't her's and then he wouldn't leave her. She still missed him, but didn't regret letting him leave, it was his choice, and she wasn't going to say otherwise.

Suddenly the a shadow fell across the floor of the entrance as a powerfully built tom pushed his way in, his blue-gray fur darkening under the shadows of the covered nursery den. In his jaws he held a fish.
Raincloud gave a small, muffled mew of greeting and set the fish at Forestlight's paws. Then his ears perked up when he saw that her nest was littered with bird feathers.
"Oh, have you eaten?"he asked in a surprised tone, sitting down beside her.
"I wasn't sure you got something to eat so I got this for you,"the tom explained, looking a bit embarrased.

Forestlight couldn't help smile upon seeing Raincloud with a fish in his jaw, she shook her head, "I haven't eaten" She spoked gently, her musical voice was soft, "Bird feather's make the nest softer, it's very quite nice to lay on" She said smiling as she flicked her fluffly tail over the feathers gently. Her mixed brown fur shimmered int he sunlight that was unblocked when he moved aside, a slight reddish tint seemed to fill her fur gleaming across it is a light glow. Forestlight looked at him with her beautiful amber eyes, "Thank you for the fish" She said, "They are my favourite" She said happily.

Raincloud gave her a relieved smile that she accepted the fish so graciously.
"Fish is good,"he replied simply. "I don't know how the other Clans survive without it."
He layed down next to her, though avoided pressing his flank against hers in case she felt uncomfortable. He admired how her pelt seemed to dapple with many colors that shimmered in the light, even if it was dimmed by the den.

Forestlight nodded gently, it was a true fact that the other clans did not eat fish, she wondered how in Starclan they lived, once you got a taste of it there was no turning back. Forestlight liked some fish better then others, but she still overall loved fish. "I was thinking the same thing" She meowed softly, stretching out her tail then curling it back up against her once more. She bit into it tearing off a piece, but she made it look graceful, she ate it swiftly, savouring the flavour as she did, she looked at him, "Want some?" She asked curiously, looking at the fish.

Raincloud had actually already eaten, but he didn't want to be rude to her for refusing. Besides, the fish he had eaten already had been quite small, so he had room for more flesh in his belly.
Nodding his thanks, he took a small mouthful, careful not to take too much since he wanted Forestlight to have enough. Raincloud didn't realize it too much, but he noticed he was acting a bit caring towards the she-cat.
"So will you be staying in the nursery longer, or will you move back to the warrior's den again soon?"the tom asked, with a hint of a hopeful tone.

Forestlight smiled as she watched him take a small mouthful, when he was finished she leaned her head down and snagged another piece for herself. "So will you be staying in the nursery longer, or will you move back to the warrior's den again soon?" Raincloud asked her curiously, she glanced over at him, there was a look in his eyes, she didn't know how to answer it, she turned her gaze all around the nursery, this place had become her home while she was taking care of Moonstreak and even after that, but with the other queen retired she admitted she had nothing to do, and was a bit bored, but she loved this place, it was the one place she felt, free and like she belonged here. "I'm not sure" She said hesitently, "I like it in here" She said, "I don't think I really belong in the warriors den" She whispered to herself.

"Why not? You're a great warrior!"Raincloud meowed impulsively, and a little forcefully. Realizing this, he flattened his ears in an embarrassed way.
"Sorry,"he muttered, turning his blue gaze away from her.
"I just meant...um...you don't have anymore kits to take care of so you can go back to warrior duties and stuff. The Clan needs more warriors to help around anyways,"the tom reasoned, flicking his tail awkwardly.
Usually, Raincloud was calm and collected most of the time. But he hated how he could never his achieve his usual demeanor in front of Forestlight. Just being around her made him self-concious.

Forestlight blinked and stared at him, it was the first time she had been called a great warrior, her mother always said she was useless to the clan, and that she was wasting her time, she almost forgot how hard she had worked while she was a warrior, she didn't like fighting at all, but she was one of the best hunters and she was a very good swimmer. "Great isn't the word I would have used, but Thank you" She said softly smiling, "It's just, I know have Moonstreak anymore, but I love this place, I don't know if I could adjust to the Warriors den again" She said, and then looked down, "Do you mean that? That I was a great warrior?" She asked curiously.

"Of course I do!"Raincloud replied instantly, a tone of surprise as if it were obvious.
"And you'll adjust fine. Once a warrior is always a warrior,"he meowed encouragingly, touching his muzzle against her ears. It was an impulsive move, and he quickly withdrew his muzzle, hoping she didn't feel uncomfortable by it.
"How about we go out into the forest,"he suggested, with a flick of tail in a beckonging motion, standing up.
"Perhaps a walk in the woods will get your warrior blood running."

Forestlight blushed deeply under her brown fur when his muzzle brushed against her ears, she could feel his breath in her ears causing her to blush even more, she was a bit sad when he pulled away but said nothing against it. Forestlight jumped up and nodded eagerly if it was one thing she loved more then the nursery it was going for a walk, followed byt swimming, and then of course kits. Forestlight remembered how she and Moonstreak used to go on walks all the time even when he was just a little apprentice, and then Silverpool her beloved sister who went missing, she used to go on walks with her to, they used to talk and wished they could switch lives, in a heart-beat Forestlight would have, but she liked herself the way she was either way. "Sounds like a wonderful Idea" She spoke softly.

Raincloud grinned as she accepted his offer. Beckoning her to follow with his tail, he pushed through the entrance of the nursery and emerged in the sunlit clearing. Stretching his aching legs that had been crouched in the small nursery for so long felt good. Looking back to make sure Forestlight was with him, he kinked his tail towards the entrance and set off in a steady trot.
"Let's go by the river,"he suggested, picking up the pace as they entered the forest. Being surrounded by trees didn't match the soothing sound of the river's unceasing rapids that always flow in a monotonic, rhythmic pattern.

Forestlight stood up and followed him out of the nursery, the second she stood in the sun, her whole pelt shimmered brightly the browns gave off a lovely gleam, the reddish tint easily seen, her soft amber eyes gazed about as she followed him to the entrance and out of camp. Her walk was not a trot, it was more of an elegant stride as she padded gracefully behind him. "Do you think we could go swimming?" Forestlight asked, she loved swimming alot, even though it often messed up her fur she still liked it alot, it was fun and a great way to cool off and stretch.

"Sure,"Raincloud agreed, glad she suggested it. The hot green-leaf heat was already making his fur feel like it was burning with warmth. He realized that a nice cool dip into the river's soothing waters would be just the thing.
"Let's hurry,"he meowed eagerly, picking up the pace so that he was now bounding through the forest. After a few minutes, the gentle lapping of water hitting the bank could be heard.
The blue gray tom emerged from the shadows of the tree and saw the familiar river flowing ceasingly past the bank.
He breathed in deeply, relishing in the misty scent of the river.
"She-cats first,"he mewed politely, gesturing his tail for Forestlight to go first.

Forestlight smiled happily and followed after the grey tom carefully, she was happy, she loved swimming, the warmth of the already hot day was perfect for swimming. She could hardly wait to jump into the beautiful river. She flicked her long fluffy tail from side and bounded after Raincloud happily, the sound of water rushing to her ears made her heart leap as she ran even faster, her light legs carring her swiftly to the waters edge. She smiled gently at Raincloud, "Why thank you" She said and padded out into the water slipping in easily she swam about without trouble.

Raincloud followed after Forestlight, easing into the river and letting the water soak his fur slowly. A sigh of content escaped his mouth as the soothing, cold water soaked his fur, draining away the heat. Taking careful strokes as if he were running slowly through water, his paws churned the water powerfully, propelling himself through the water.
His tail flicked towards Forestlight, causing water to splash onto her.
"Woops, sorry,"the tom purred, eyes twinkling with amusement. He gave another teasing flick of his tail, sending more droplets splattering Forestlight's pelt.

Forestlight smiled as she swam about, even when she was swimming her gentle form was graceful and elegant, she was a Queen, not a warrior, but even so that did not stop her in the past, she was no good at fighting, but her hunting skills were another story, she could pride herself on her hunting skills. She was very good at it always came back with something weither fish or vole even a mouse or two, but in the end she always had something. Forestlight blinked upon getting splashed with water, she looked at Raincloud in surprise then smiled playfully when he splashed again, "It's okay" She said splashing water back at him.

Raincloud coughed as he accidentally swallowed a bit of water. Hissing playfully, he dug his hind paws into the bottom of the river and reared up. Bringing his paws down powerfully, he created a wave that crashed over Forestlight, soaking her from head to tail.
"Good thing we're Mistclan cats,"the tom meowed, mrrowing with laughter at the sight of her dripping wet fur. The best thing about getting used to swimming is that you're not afraid of the water or getting wet.

Forestlight gasped when the wave hit her, she was soaked from whiskers to tail tip, SOAKED! She thanked starclan she liked to swim and get wet but still it had still shocked her. She couldn't help but giggled as she imagined herself dripping wet and Raincloud's laughter only added to her own. She smiled happily and jumped up herself splashing him back she wasn't as powerful but she still got him pretty wet, and she had to admit they probably both looked silly, but she didn't care she was a Mistclan cat.

Raincloud spluttered as more water splattered his face. Shaking the droplets off his whiskers, he growled in mock anger, "Now you've gone too far!"
With one powerful kick, Raincloud surged forward and grasped Forestlight's scruff, but gently. Keeping a good grip, he gave her a small shake and hauled her over to the shore, making sure her head was still afloat.
"That's what you get for messing with me,"he purred, through a mouthful of fur as he and her landed on the bank, their furs streaming with the river water. Panting he let her go, and flipped onto his bake, feeling the sunlight warm his wet fur.

Forestlight couldn't help but giggle at the look on his face it was pricesless, "I'm sorry" She giggled, but it was drowned ou by her gasp of surprise as he rushed foreward jumping upon her and grasping her once fluffly, now drowned scruff, she blinked when she was shaken and started to get dragged back to shore, "Oh no!" She cried out in fake drama, "I didn't mean to" She said smiling at his purr. Raincloud let her go on shore, she smiled at him playfully and laughed shaking out her fur droplets flied about she rolled over onto her back laying down beside him, she looked up towards the sky and letting the sun warm her wet fur.

"Feels good doesn't it,"he murmured, watching the cloudless sky. He spotted a hawk fly past, a brown blemish upon the azure sky.
He felt his pelt touch Forestlight, and his heart skipped a beat. Turning his head to look at Forestlight, he fumbled with words in his mind. Just say it! an inner voice scolded, urging him forward.
"You look beautiful,"he blurted out, ears down with embarrassment at the sudden outburst. But he meant it.
Trying to add a little teasing tone, he added, "Even if a little wet."

Forestlight hummed gently and nodded, "yes it's lovely" She said refering to the warmth she felt, it was wonderful, her amber eyes watched the cloudless sky, the sun leaked down upon them making her fur shimmer as it only started to dry off. She saw the hawk flying wild and free, and she thought of herself and her own small sense of freedom that she hadn't felt since she had first gotten Moonkit. "You look beautiful" Raincloud blurted out, Forestlight blushed deeply under her fur, she had never heard those words before, no one had ever once called her beautiful, not even her own mother, she glanced over at him, he was hansom to look at, "Thank you" Forestlight purred gently, "You look rather hansom, even if you are wet as well" She smiled gently.

Raincloud gave her a sheepish grin, ears flattened in the slight awkward moment. He had to admire how her fur seemed to stand out under the sun. Everytime he spotted her padding around camp through the crowd of other Mistclan cats, her fur stood out the most. Always shimmering a beautiful auburn color.
"You know we could do this everyday. Swim together, hunt together, patrol together. Be a warrior again, with me,"he pleaded, looking into her amber eyes deeply.

Forestlight smiled gently, she loved life more then anyone could ever know, she loved the sun, the sky, the river, the clan and everyone in it, and of course her memories, she had great memories of him, of her little kits, she shouldn't call him that but it was true he wasn't hers, but he always seemed like he was, he was the sweetest little thing. Life is so unexpected, dropping him from who knows where, and then one moonrise on the hilltop, she sat beside him merely watching and talking, and then he was gone like that and she never saw him again. Forestlight knew her job was over, perhaps she should be a warrior, she could be with Raincloud and that whould be nice, she smiled and nodded a bit, "I would like that" She said gently.

The blue-gray tom beamed at her acceptance. He let out a purr to show how delighted he was.
Watching her lying there beautifully, the tom instinctively reached over and gave Forestlight a tender lick around the ears. Raincloud felt his heart glow passionately with affection for her. He only hoped she felt the same for him. Gazing into her eyes he asked tenatively,
"Do you....like me?"
It almost sounded amateurish. Like a kit asking another kit he liked. But Raincloud just couldn't put it into better words

Forestlight glanced over at him, he had purred and she couldn't help but purr back just as happy. Forestlight blushed gently when he licked her, she smiled up into his eyes and everything changed, she never felt so happy before, she felt stranged she wondered if this feeling, was it, could it be, Love? Forestlight decided it was indeed love, she liked Raincloud alot, she always did, everytime he came to give her a fish she was overjoyed to see him, he made her happy and he made her smile, he made her feel beautiful for the first time in her life, she felt normal, and not a disgrace. "I do not like you" Forestlight said looking him straight in the eyes, "I love you" She said leaning in she licked his muzzle gently.

Raincloud was a bit speechless when Forestlight uttered the words "I do not like you"
The blue-gray tom, for one moment, felt his heart plummet with despair, but as he gazed into her eyes, he noticed a passionate warmth that twinkled in her beautiful amber eyes. And he knew before she said "I love you"
A purr escaped his mouth again, this time full of love and joy. He touched his nose against her muzzle and gave it a gentle nuzzle.
"I love you too,"he meowed sincerely, heart soaring. Let the sun shine a bit longer. And let the birds sing higher. And let the calm waters flow with the rhythm of love...
Raincloud got his wish.

Forestlight watched his face frown with utter despair, she couldn't help but smile as she spoke her next words and waited for his reaction, his eyes lit up happily, and he let out another purr of happiness, she purred with him and brushed her nose against his as he nuzzled her gently, she couldn't help but nuzzle him back, she was so happy, she did admit it was a bit mean to say that she did not like him, but it had been true she didn't like him like that, she loved him. Forestlight smiled happily, "I love you too" Raincloud said, her heart leapt with joy, she was so happy, "Thank you" She said softly, she had for once, shown her mother up, she had fallen in love and she found someone who loves her for who she is.
