The young apprentice poked his head out of the den, looking about with his wide, yellow eyes. A mischevious smile curved around his muzzle as he found that the clearing was empty. The sky was a dark, midnight blue, but it was slowly growing fainter. Dawn was almost coming, but not for another few hours. And that's when he wanted to leave and come back before any cat noticed. Heart beating excitedly, he slipped back into the den and nudged Skypaw awake. "Psst! Skypaw! Wake up!" Padpaw urged, shoving the blue-gray apprentice. "Huh wha?"the tom opened his eyes. One was cloudy white, which showed he was blind, and the other sky blue. Though this eye was color-blind, so when he saw the moss that surrounded him, it was a gray mass instead of green. He spotted Padpaw's outline. "What is it?"Skypaw asked groggily. "We're going to sneak out and have some fun!"the scruffy apprentice responded, eyes alight. He glanced at the other sleeping apprentices and wondered if he should have some tag along. It'll be fun!he thought, amused.

A soft gray ball of fur stirred as she heard voices of other cats. She stretched, reaching out her paws toward her dark brother who was curled up beside her. He woke only for a moment, grumbled something, then curled up tighter and went back to sleep. In the faint light of the early morning, Solacepaw spotted Padpaw and Skypaw. She carefully padded closer to them and murmured, "What are you doing?!" The little she-cat curiosity was intrigued about what they could be doing at this time of day.

[colpr=black]Padpaw jumped a bit at the sound of a voice so close to him. But his tense muscles relaxed when he realized it was just Solacepaw. "We're going to go out of camp and explore outside the territory,"Padpaw replied smugly, proudly holding his head high as if he had the best idea in the world[/color] "Wha? We are?"Skypaw repeated, his eyes wide with surprise. "B-But are we allowed to?""Of course we're not, but we're going,"the black furred tom responded, rolling his eyes as if it were obvious. "You can come too. I might want to invite a few more apprentices. It'll be fun,"Padpaw meowed to Solacepaw, glancing around to see who else may want to come. Padpaw felt he had to teach some fellow apprentices that having a bad-boy adventurous side wasn't a bad thing. "Um...."Skypaw was still doubtful, but he wasn't going to voice them aloud.

Hopepaw slept silently, well she didn't exactly sleep, she hadn't been tired at the time and mostly stayed awake listening to the other apprentices sleep, she had only just gotten there not to long ago and she didn't really feel like she belonged. Hopepaw's ears flicked she listened to the other apprentices and opened her very pale blue eyes, they looked almost soulless, but there was that glimmer of hope in her eyes that she was named after. Hopepaw sat up her golden light brown pelt was well groomed the dark stripes easily seen, she got up and padded over upon hearing Padpaw say rather quite smuggly "We're going to go out of camp and explore outside the territory". "Can I come?" Hopepaw asked smirking a bit she loved adventures almost as much as not listening to the rules, and to think she was such a nice kit at one point in time, but here with other apprentices she was rather quite sly and flirtly, but even so if there had been a mentor or warrior here she would be acting way different.

Solacepaw was a bit uneasy about breaking rules. Of course she was aching to get out and check out the territory without her mentor hanging over her, but at the same time she really wanted to impress the older cats....so perhaps breaking rules wasn't a good place to start.
She tried her best to justify sneaking out in her mind. It was really a normal thing for an apprentice to sneak out, and warriors always had great stories about the mischief they caused when they were younger. Thus, it was a good thing for Solacepaw to do...right?
After going through this thought process, Solacepaw nodded, "I'd love to join you!" She glanced over at her sleeping sibling, "Darkpaw likes sleeping too much to come...so I wouldn't bother asking him to go."

Padpaw perked up when Hopepaw offered to come. "Great, the more the merrier,[/i]he meowed with the usual mischevious smirk across his face. Padpaw shrugged when Solacepaw spoked, "Yea okay. I guess Darkpaw wouldn't."Padpaw glanced around and asked, "So are we ready to go?" His tail was flicking with excitement. "Um, I guess,"Skypaw responded, getting to his paws. His tail was also flicking but it was of nervousness.

~And i'll watched the Moonrise with my memories of you, And I'll watch the Moonrise till the day I'm gone too~
Hopepaw grinned a bit, she needed to get used to the other apprentices, she still missed her best friend Sockpaw, he was always so funny and goofy, he knew how to make her laugh and have a good time, but he was gone, out of her life just like her mother who left her there to die. She didn't understand, why had she just been left there, the thought made her huff, but deep down inside she still loved her mother, even though she said she would always hate her. Hopepaw smiled and nodded, "I'm all set" She meowed excitedly, her pale light blue eyes sparkled she could hardly wait.

Solacepaw nodded, "Yeah, I'm ready." As she waited for the others to move out, she began getting a bit antsy. She really wanted to leave before anyone else knew what they were up to. She padded to just outside the apprentices' den.

img824.imageshack.us/img824/5686/padpaw.png[/iimg]With a grin, Padpaw whipped around and quickly pushed out of the den, not waiting to see if the others followed. Glancing around, there was still no sign of any cats in the clearing. Looking back, he flicked his tail for the others to follow then crept out. Bounding quietly through the clearing, Padpaw pushed his way out of the entrance and emerged in the woods. Skypaw quickly followed, eyes wide with a mixture of fear and excitement. He kept glancing around apprehensively, expecting a warrior to see them. But they meet no trouble as they entered the forest. "So where are we going?" the blue-gray apprentice asked, afraid of the answer. img824.imageshack.us/img824/5686/padpaw.png[/iimg]Padpaw pondered this for a moment, swishing his tail. He'd like to explore other Clan territories, but the last time he did that it resulted in a battle between Fireclan and Moonclan. He didn't know why the other Clan overreacted but he was at least smart enought not to do it again. "Kittypet territory,"he replied with a smirk.

Hopepaw smiled, she couldn't help it, she was in live with excitment, rules and well rule breaking. She was two cats in one, the sweet innocent she-cat who's sharp tongue can hurt others and makes them follow the rules, and the excited rule breaking she cat who will talk kindly to those she trusts. She was two in one and she couldn't live without either side. Hopepaw's pale light blue eyes glanced around as they padded out of the small aprentices den, where only the apprentices sleep, yes no warriors, none in sight, they would be able to sneak out easily. She padded after the others heading for the woods, her light brown fur rippling with darker brown stripes shone in the moonlight giving it a soft gleam that matched her eyes. Hopepaw's ears flicked, "Kittypet territory?" She asked, "Nice" She smirked wildly, something you would hardly ever see from her.

Skypaw's eye widened and he mewed, "Kittypets?" His flicking tail became more agitated at the thought of going into that unknown territory that the warriors of Fireclan especially forbid. "Yea. Where else mouse-brain?"Padpaw replied with a roll of his eyes. He gave Skypaw an unceromonious cuff around the apprentice's ear with is paw to knock some sense into the colorblind apprentice. "You should show more enthusiasm like Hopepaw here,"the scruffy black apprentice commented. He began to pick up his pace and the trees began to thin out as the apprentices neared the border of the Twoleg place. Skypaw just remained sullenly silent. Every fiber in his being told him not to follow the reckless apprentice who was acting as the ringleader of this whole expedition. But Skypaw didn't want to object and get clouted again by Padpaw, much less be left behind. Pushing aside the doubt, he allowed his curiousity and excitement take over.

As Solacepaw followed the other apprentices out of camp, a voice in the back of her mind kept screaming that she shouldn't go. She never disobeyed the rules. Of all the times to screw up, the beginning of apprenticeship seemed the worst. What kind of impression would this make on her mentor? On the other warriors? She kept reminding herself though that as an apprentice she was entitled to a few mistakes, right? Apprentices always do silly things.
She shook the thoughts out of her head and went back to conversing with the other apprentices, "Yeah, Kittypet fields would be interesting."

After a few moments of quiet silence, the white fence that bordered the Twolegplace loomed ahead. And beyond it was kittypet territory where most kittypets hung around when not at home stuffing their faces. By now, the sky midnight blue was getting paler into a royal blue that will soon been azure as the sun rises. We'll have plenty of time to get there and back before anyone can notice,Padpaw thought smugly. "Well, here we are. I'll go first,"the scruffy tom mewed, bunching up his back muscles and leaping up, His front paws hit the top of the fence and he hung limply there for a heartbeat before scrambling onto the white wood. "C'mon, it's easy!"he called down, wavering on the narrow fence as he kept his balance.

Hopepaw flicked her tail flirtly like, she frowned a bit and wanted to comment on how he should have jumped and then drill it into his mind but she hesitated because she wanted to show him how it's done. Hopepaw lowered herself ready to leap, she jumped into the air easily and gracefully she pulled herself onto the fence and easily kept her balance, "Now this is exciting" She said smirking at Padpaw, it was indeed fun, her first adventure for a while, if only Sockpaw could see her now, he'd freak, she pictured the look on his face and let out a gentle purr.

"Hurry up guys!" he called impatiently, crouching on the fence and looking down upon them with a grin, his tail flicking back and forth impatiently. "..."Skypaw looked up at the high fence, apprehension pretty much making his tail flick with uncertainty and his whiskers twitching with fear. He had seen Hopepaw gracefully land onto the fence as if she did it everyday and Padpaw at least made it look easy too. Bunching up his muscles, the under-sized apprentice lept, but unceromoniously only came up three-quarters of the way and only managed to scrabble at the wood before falling back down. He tried to jump again, thrice he tried but couldn't even reach. "I can't get up!"Skypaw wailed, his eyes wide as his neck craned up to look at Hopepaw and Padpaw whom were up high where he could not reach.

[bg=6d6d6d][cs=3] Mythpaw was hunting alone today. Cloudeye said she might be getting a little rusty - she hadn't been out a while, so he'd sent her to fetch at least four pieces of prey, which was easier said than done, to be honest. So far, she'd caught the scrawniest little mouse she'd ever seen, and found nothing else. It irked her greatly.
She was about to creep up on a rabbit when it fled. She growled, and turned towards the sound, following it, her grey fur blending in with the greying grasses of the fields. When she found the noise, it was Skypaw wailing at how he couldn't get up.
"Hey! What the hell do you think you guys are doing?" she asked with a scowl, yellow eyes blazing, taking a few steps closer. "You mousebrains making loads of noise! You lost me a rabbit! Cloudeye's gonna be really angry if I don't bring back prey." she muttered angrily, looking up at Padpaw. "You do know where you are right? Twolegs might hurl things at you, or maybe kidnap you, again." Mythpaw huffed at Padpaw, and got closer to the fence. It smelt bad, like dogs had made dirt behind it. She recoiled, and looked at Skypaw.
"It's not that hard, watch." she grinned, crouching down and narrowing her eyes at the fence. Wiggling her bum in the air, she leapt upwards, claws unsheathed, scrabbling at the fence and making an awful racket. Her back claws dug in a hole and she managed to get all but an eighth there before she yowled.
She jumped off the fence and looked at her paw - she had horrible, big brown splinters coming out of it, and one of her claws was missing. She stared at the blood for a while. "Oh my." she said, feeling faint. She sat down. "This is gonna hurt in the morning." she mumbled.

Solacepaw followed the bunch of apprentices to the kittypet fields. She had never once been out here, thus was both fascinated and nervous. She hung back while the others began leaping up on the fence, not sure if her small frame could carry her up that high.
She finalized her decision not to jump after Mythpaw came along, tried to jump up, and tore up one of her paws. Solacepaw rushed over by the other apprentice, noticing the blood running out of the wound. She hadn't the slightest idea what to do, "Want me to go back and get help?"

Hopepaw chuckled a bit, "You can do it Skypaw!" She meowed, "Put a little effort to it!" She added afterwards until Mythpaw came in to the picture, she scowled a bit, her mood changing, indeed Cloudeyes would be mad and she hated to look bad, she was such a goodie goodie in front of warriors, but a mean one, Padpaw was awesome, he was worthy of trust, but Mythpaw she didn't like much or anyone else for that matter, she was a very picky she-cat and had issues with all other she-cats she never told why, but it was because of her mother abandoning her to die, that emotionally scarred her for life and she will never forget it. When Mythpaw jumped and fell down her paw hurt, Hopepaw snorted, "Oh yea, real easy" She meowed sarcasticlly rolling her pale very light blue eyes. She flicked her tail, she didn't really want to help Mythpaw and knew she wouldn't in the end, she could care less what happened to her, she turned her head away huffing a bit and bristling her light brown with darker stripes pelt before grooming it back down.

[bg=6d6d6d][cs=3] Time seemed to stop around Mythpaw. Her paw was still bleeding, and it was getting worse. She stared at it in disbelief - why did it hurt so much? She'd never been in this much pain in her life before, it didn't make her feel happy. In fact, it made her want to cry, but her voice was stuck in her throat, unable to make a sound due to the utter surprise pasted on the she-cat's face. She could climb trees, why couldn't she climb this? She should be able to, in her mind, Mythpaw was able to do anything as long as they didn't break the warrior code.
Then, the world came flooding back when Hopepaw snorted. The she-cat turned, ever so slowly, yellow eyes burning, wanting to burn a big fat hole in the middle of Hopepaw's big fat head. She growled. "You know what, I am going to tell Revolutionstar you were messing about here." she stood up, wobbled a bit, and steadied. "Seriously, Hopepaw, what is with you. Do you freaking hate me or something? You know, if you do, it'd be kind of nice to hear it coming from your big fat gob rather than jst acting like a stupid cow around me." Mythpaw growled, turning around and hobbling back to camp.

[bg=fffd3f][cs=3] Featherdance had made sure Jaykit and Lovekit were with another queen before she wandered off to stretch her legs and practise hunting. It felt like it had been forever since she'd felt the life of an animal ebb away inside her mouth, and the warm blood spill into her throat. She shivered at the thought of making a kill for Jaykit and Lovekit - she hoped she'd get something good, like a chaffinch or maybe a rabbit - whatever pleased them, and pleased Featherdance.
She pricked her ears up as Mythpaw hobbled past her, bright red blood streaming from her forepaw, muttering darkly under her breath. Featherdance would have greeted her, but Mythpaw looked to be in too bad a mood to even register Featherdance. The queen darted to the side as the apprentice hobbled past muttering something about Hopepaw and foxdung. She raised an eyebrow, or the cat equivalent of one, and followed the blood trail to the twoleg fence.
The female hung low - they might scent her milk-scent, but, they shouldn't be here right now. What if a twoleg stole Padpaw (again)? Or threw something at them, or a dog got them? Apprentices... Featherdance felt like it had been so many seasons since she'd been Featherpaw, naive and quiet Featherpaw. She supposed she had probably done something like this when she was their age, but it didn't make it right. Studying the fence Hopepaw and Padpaw sat on, she saw a tuft of fur and blood on a few massive splinters. She took a sharp intake of breath - Mythpaw must have tried to climb it and join Padpaw, but ended up getting herself hurt.
She saw the look on Hopepaw's face and that's what made her stand and be fully visible to the apprentices. Her grey fur bristled at their stupidity - Padpaw should have known at least what could happen if you went too close to twolegs, but no, he wanted to have fun. Fun wasn't a good thing - fun could get other cats hurt, and fun could be dangerous. He was an apprentice, and probably due to be a warrior any time soon, but because of his escapades and pranks, Featherdance doubted he'd ever be a warrior.
"Care to tell me what you four are doing here?" came her voice. Her fur was still raised, prickled, and she was visibly angry. "And did you tell anyone you were going out of camp?" she asked, a slight hiss audible in her voice. "You should know better, especially you, Padpaw." she narrowed her yellow eyes at him. "You should probably go back to camp before Mythpaw tells Revolutionstar, because judging by the look on her face, she is not amused."

Skypaw pawed the base of the fence and whimpered a bit, like a lost little kitten. He looked up enviously at the two apprentices who were able to leap onto the fence. Then a new voice made him turn to see Mythpaw and he gave a tentative mew of greeting. As Mythpaw began to leap, Skypaw was a bit worried that he would be the only one who wouldn't be able to scale the fence. But to his horror, Mythpaw's paw was sliced by the wood and came down with bleeding paws. "Are you okay?"he asked in concern, shaking with fear. "Mythpaw!"Padpaw called, tail lashing in concern as he saw blood. He was about to leap down but the she-cat took off. Padpaw gave a huff of exasperation. "Well this ruined the fun..."he muttered. He would've gone after Mythpaw but she seemed a bit too upset and he was also torn by the prospect of going into Twoleg territory. Then another rustle of bushes and a Fireclan warrior, Featherdance, emerged. By now, Padpaw was irked. "Mouse-dung,"he muttered, kneading his paws in frustration. Skypaw's blue eyes were wide with fear as Featherdance emerged. His tail twitched nervously, very sure of a punishment for sneaking out. "Care to tell me what you four are doing here? And did you tell anyone you were going out of camp?" "Erm, yea. See, Sunflash said there was a bunch of kittypets hunting in our territory and...um,"Padpaw was quickly improvising, which he was quite good at. "He sent us to spy on them and warn them off." The scruffy black tom puffed out his chest trying to look confident and important.

"yes, I do hate you, you remind me to much of her" Hopepaw snarled a bit, she huffed as she watched Mythpaw leave, good riddence, she thought to herself, she could care less what Revolvingstar thought of her, or if she got in trouble, YEY! she thought bitterly to herself her mood spoiled her pale very light blue eyes shone fiercely in the light, but it didn't matter she was so upset she hoped Mythpaw ate crow-food. Hopepaw snorted merely at Featherdancer, Hopepaw was normally a good apprentice, but she had her days and today was not the best day to bug her, she hated any and all females that were Queens and sometimes even just Warriors, apprentices that acted like her mother made her fur bristle and her glare sharpen like knives, Featherdancer was a Queen and Hopepaw looked at her darkly.

[bg=fffd3f][cs=3] Featherdance took no notice of the look Hopepaw gave her - yeah, whatever, she'd had a bad mother - was their any need to take it out on others what your mother had done to you? Not really. She snorted at the apprentice - she was such a little snob. Featherdance didn't even want to know what had crawled up her butt and died - Hopepaw hated all females, and Featherdance didn't give a rat's tail about the stuck up little idiot apprentice.
Then when Padpaw told her Sunflash had told them to spy on the kittypets, she cocked an eyebrow. "Right, I'll be sure to ask him that when we get back." she meowed. "And surely he would have only needed to send a warrior to renew the scent marks to give them a scare?" her eyes looked up at Padpaw with skepticism painted all over them.
Then the she-cat turned to Hopepaw. "And I don't know what your problem is. Mythpaw is a lovely apprentice - just because your mother abandoned you - that's nothing new. Things like that happen, but you should never hold on to things like that. I never knew who my mother was, and my father won't tell me - she was a non clanner, do you know how that feels? To be looked down upon because you're not of full clan blood? At least you have full clan blood, at least you knew your mother." she snorted, and flicked her tail. "I lost my kits. Do you know how much that tears me up every day I wake up and see the kits in the nursery? Did you see me the day my kits were born? Did you? They all died, either before birth, or moments after. They never got a chance to know me, and I never got a chance to know them." she let out a slight snarl. She lost her kits, her children. "You should be thankful some of the clan likes you - not many of the clan know me because I never used to talk to anyone until I got to know Sparrowdash, until he saved my life." Featherdance said. "You're arrogant and you've got to learn not everyone is like your mother."

Hopepaw snarled and got up she jumped from the fence and padded away from her not even bothering to answer, because quite frankly she had none, of course she would rant about horrible her life was as well, but she was a Queen, they weren't good, they couldn't be trusted. Her own mother left her out in the forest to die, telling her how much she hated her and not even letting her say good bye to her friends, Sockpaw, she missed him so much and all her clan mates, what was so great about Fireclan, she didn't belong here at all, no one understood her, it wasn't just that her mother Abandoned her, it was the way she was hurt by it, the way her mother screamed at her and slowly started to hate her, what had she ever done wrong, she needed to get back, get away she needed to go for a nap or a sleep and ignore everything she didn't belong... she didn't belong..

[bg=6d6d6d][cs=3] Okay, so Mythpaw had walked off in a huff, but she'd hurt herself and Hopepaw - who Mythpaw had nothing against in the most part - gave her a look that, if looks could kill, would have killed her. Mythpaw didn't know what was wrong with her. She shook her head as she hobbled along. Her paw was becoming so much worse, blood dripping onto the grass. Drip, drip, drip. Drip, drip, drip. Endless dripping, accompanied only by the breeze.
Spreaking of which, where was the birdsong? The squeaking of mice as they hurried along hoping to avoid the watchful eye of a hawk or cat. She stopped, ears pricked, swivelling around. It was silent apart from the wind and the drip, drip, drip of her paw. She narrowed her eyes - whatever it was, surely it wasn't good. She gulped audibly, and spun around, losing her balance and falling backwards. Fear shot through her body as she saw a flash of orange, then another and another. She wanted to scream, so Mythpaw opened her mouth wide to wail, but no sound could escape. Fear took her throat and held it tight, choking her voice, unable to make a soung, be it a scream of fear or a shout of help, StarClan didn't want her to make a sound.
Until they pounced - three mangy, flea ridden foxes jumped out, jaws snapping like twoleg traps, foam bubbling from their mouth. Then, Mythpaw gave a shrill, high scream, probably loud enough for all four clans to hear as they snapped at her fur. One clamped down on her bleeding forepaw and snarled, almost tearing it away. She screamed again, and pulled away. Her foot was broken, and looked to be dangling off by a thread. Another clamped onto the base of her tail, and yanked really hard. Mythpaw gave an agonizing screech as the tail was pulled from it's home and into the teeth of the creature.
There was a sudden commotion from a twoleg, running, waving a large barrel. He took aim, and fired, firing a bullet through one of the fox's heads. It fell quickly, Mythpaw's tail still clamped in it's jaws. The other two moved from Mythpaw, and snarled at the twoleg, who fired another shot, killing a second fox. The third fox yelped as it's co-hunter fell beside it, and fled. Mythpaw lay on the floor, fear still holding onto her. Her wide eyes stared up at the twoleg, who's gruff, terrifying face had turned soft. He mumbled something, and approached Mythpaw slowly. She gave a half-hearted hiss, but laid her head on the ground, closing her eyes. His warm paws were under her fur, and he lifted her from the ground, and held her to his chest, pressing against the base of her tail to stop it bleeding.
"Come on kitty. We better get you to the vet to get you fixed up."

((Whoa, major turn in plot )) "Oh, fox-dung.."he muttered as Featherdance gave a reasonable retort. Should've saw that one coming,he thought with a sigh. Suddenly, a loud piercing scream jolted him. He recognized it. "MYTHPAW!!"he yowled, leaping off the fence without second thought and landing gracefully. Without hesitating, he shot off to where he heard the sound. The trail of fresh-blood led him to where Mythpaw laid motionless. Three foxes were dead beside her and a Twoelgs were surrounding her. "Get away from her to piece of fox-dung!"he snarled, leaping forward at the nearest Twoleg and clawing at its leg. The Twoleg let out a howl of surprise and stamped around, trying to shake Padpaw off. Padpaw lept away and stood protectively over Mythpaw's mangled body, hissing at the Twolegs.
