A flash of white, a streak of brown, a tail unseen, a leap unbound! Skyleaper leapt taking off into the sky, only to end up back on the ground.... again. He was at it again, not that it is surprising since he is often there trying to jump. Just on the edge of Fireclan territory where the forest meets the moorland Skyleaper was trying to fly. He lay on his back happily staring up at the sky, "One day I will be with you" he said gently to the beautiful birds that flew over head, he gave a loud chirp before curling his unnaturally long tail up to look at. It was all brown execpt for two round white rings at the very tip and just below that was a beautiful golden feather that Goldenfeather had left for him, no matter what he did it never came off, it moved and tumbled in the wind and was the most beautiful shape he had ever seen. It was perfect and it was his symbol, his sign, that one day he would fly, higher then any bird before.
He twisted himself and got up again, his long pointed ears and unnnaturally long tail made him look more like a lemur then a bird, but since no cat knew what a lemur was it was easy enough to call hima bird, he found it suited him well. He smiled and climbed up the tree once more using his 'talons' as he liked to call his claws, and his 'beak' (muzzle) to grasp the branch and get up on it. He looked up, flicking his tail the golden feather shimmered brightly, and his yellow amber eyes shone brightly, he was ready, he lowered himself and steadied waiting. He felt the wind blow with him as he took off running, he leapt and flapped his fore paws hoping to take off, but ended up falling nce again, he twisted himself easily and landed on his paws. He glanced up at the sky, he wasn't ever going to give up, never.
He decided to take a break and go for a run, he ran faster then most and always tried to go faster. When Skyleaper was running he felt like he was almost flying! He would always feel the breeze of his face and almost felt like he could leave the ground, he let out a loud chirp and jumped high and then landed again, he smiled as he skidded to a stop, he could feel it, he was closer then ever, he deicded to go hunting to celebrate his success, he dropped low and spotted a thrush, he chirped a word of warning and the bird took of chirp it's thanks. Because of his belief he doesn't eat birds, but that doesn't mean rabbits are out of the question.

He bunched up his muscles, kneading the paw in anticipation as he watched the thrush peck the ground, too absorbed in its duty to notice that a predator was tracking it. He checked the wind. It was upwind to him, so there was no way the bird could scent him. Then the tom took off, speeding down the slope with as quick as the wind, his paws barely making a sound as he skidded down the slope. He was a few fox-length away and his claws became outstreatched and prepared to take a running leap when a sudden loud chirp caused the thrush to take flight. "Fox-dung!"came a loud curse as the flutter of wings and the thrush took off in flight. Pantherclaw skidded to a stop, his claws tearing the ground in frustration as he glared at the thrush that had flew away. He whipped around to see the familiar large ears and long tail and let out a hiss of anger. He knew only too well who this cat was. Though he had never really confronted Skyleaper before, he had heard stories.
"Mouse-brain!"he growled, stalking over with eyes narrowed accusingly. Tail flicking irritably, his claws sheathed and unsheathed in an effort to stop from clouting the other warrior. "I could've caught that bird but you just had to make that stupid sound to scare it off!"the tom's black fur was bristling now.

Skyleaper smiled happily as the thrush flew freely through the air, he was envious but glad he saved the wonderful creature, he was about to leave when someone shouted "Mouse-brain!" he turned with his amber yellow eyes and looked at the cause. It was Pantherclaw, he had seen him in camp once for twice, never said hello, and never knew his name expect from it being mentioned before. He smiled happily, "Well why ever would you want to eat such a wonderful, beautiful, free and wild creature?" He asked curiously, Skyleaper could never understand why any cat would ever want to harm such amazing wonderful animals. Skyleaper flicked his unnaturally long tail, the golden feather shimmering in the light, he waited Pantherclaws answer to that, it made no sense to him, well he gave up birds for his dream, and one day it will come true.

There was stillness in the air. You could tell that the leaves were changing colors as the Autumn sun seemed to soak up the color, changing them into orange and red colors. Some bushes had already lost their leaves and the branches now stuck out bare and abandoned for the first animal to run away with its rotting bark. A single leaf drifted slowly to the ground and the crunch of it echoed throughout the small clearing Galepaw was hiding in. His orange and white pelt blended into the ground that was littered with leaves from the tall trees that had given them up. Hiding behind the thick trunk of a tree Galepaw slowly skidded around the roots that was sticking out of the ground and if tripped on, would cause some serious damage.
His orange topped head poked out and sniffed the air, searching for the rabbit he had been chasing for some distance now. He could smell the scent of another clan and he had to remind himself yet again he was on the boarder and to be cautious. He didn't want to cause any problems in the start of Leaf-fall. A new scent filled Galepaw's nose and he focused again at the task at hand. A rabbit. It smelled like a mixture of earth and grass. As if it was an invisible layer in the ground. It had finally wandered out of its hole and was now searching for food by the sound of scurrying he heard. Using his ears he pin pointed where the rabbit was and before taking a second thought, shot out of from his hiding place and after the rabbit. His prey had a second of surprise before it bolted, tripping over its own feet in its haste and Gailpaw quickly caught it in between his paws. Reaching down he bit the neck and his prey went limp for forever.
Thanks Starclan. He thought happy but also dissatisfied. Picking up his now fresh kill Galepaw padded along the boarder, making sure to stay on the right side. He knew his mentor was some where nearby he just had to find them. He growled in annoyance. Lynxfang. Why me? He thought scornfully. Why do I HAVE to get the one that i would never get along with?
While he was deep in thought, Galepaw came across two other cats. It seemed they were in an argument and though Galepaw loved arguing greatly, it seemed that it was only a one sided disagreement. Sitting down he set the prey at his front feet and waited it out, or at least waiting for one of them to notice him.

"Why?"Pantherclaw repeated with eye-brows raised in skeptism, looking at Skyleaper like he was crazy. "Because that wonderful creature is prey that feeds our Clan,"the black tom snarled, fur bristling. He began to pace around in order to vent off his frustration towards Skyleaper. The tom didn't seem the least bit fazed that he had just let a thrush get away unharmed. "Leaf-fall is already here and soon leaf-bare. Every prey counts now,"Pantherclaw growled, lashing his tail. Then a flash of orange caught his eyes and his yellow eyes averted from Skyleaper to a young apprentice. Cocking an eye-brow, Pantherclaw recognized Gailpaw, though wasn't thrilled to see an apprentice. "Gailpaw right?"he called, beckoning his tail for the apprentice to approach. "Did your mentor send you out hunting?"

"Prey? Prey?!" Skyleaper said flabbergasted, "Birds are not to prey apon! Why they live the ultimate dream everyday, I mean i've dreamed of spreading my wings, of soaring, and letting the wind lift me into the sky! To fly free of any obstacle! Seeing magnificent views of all the land's countless beauties! What a wonderful dream! What a wonderful sense of weightlessness! What wonderful Freedom! Freedom! The best of the best! From the smallest little bird to the mightest of eagles, hawks and falcons! From the brightest feathers to the majestically black feathers, Birds are the most wonderous and beautiful of creatures! Andno matter what, I won't eat a single one and I'll save as many as I can" Skyleaper said proudly, he smiled and gave a loud chirp and then smiled, "hello Gailpaw!" he meowed.

"Er you're going to fly...."Pantherclaw repeated, giving Skyleaper a more skeptic look.
Okay, rumors were true. He's crazy.the black furred tom thought, flicking his tail.
"Right, let me be the first to know if you get there,"he replied sarcastically. "And let me point out that you don't have wings. You have teeth and claws meant to catch prey. Like this."
He had spotted a small sparrow pecking at the ground a few fox-length away. Dropping low, he silently glided forward and prepared to pounce.

Skyleaper smiled, it didn't matter that he didn't have wings one day he would fly, her flicked his tail the bright golden feather showing off happily, it was so beautiful he loved it more then anything else in the whole world, it was his sign, his mark, he was going to fly. 'Talons' he thought to himself, he would have talons not claws, he watched Pantherclaw drop low, he guessed he was going for a mouse, then he spotted a sparrow, he gasped and let out a bunch of loud chirps, the sparrow looked up and saw Pantherclaw, it chirpped wildly and flew off swiftly.

Galepaw watched silently as the warriors went back and forth with their argument. He gave a small smile and rolled his eyes. Typical warriors. Why do they always think they all have to think the same way just because they were in the same clan. "Lets all not even notice the stunning apprentice that has this plump rabbit at his feet, that by the way, taste so much better then a bird." Gailpaw commented, butting into a soon to be argument over birds or no birds. "Hey Pantherclaw, leave him alone. Whatever floats his boat. Or, uh, feathers?" Galepaw shrugged and began licking his paw, waiting for his slow mentor to show up.

Pantherclaw let out another hiss of frustration. "Will you stop that!"the tom snarled at Skyleaper, glaring at the long-limped tom with angry yellow eyes. "The Clan is going to starve if you keep scaring prey away like that!"Pantherclaw hissed.
The apprentice's drawling voice made the tom even more irritated. What an arrogant tom!he thought, whirling around to scold the apprentice but stopped to see that another cat had already beat him at it.
"Shut it twerp,"a voice hissed irritably, cuffing Galepaw with her tail as she came up behind him. "Last time I remember, I taught you to have more respect for warriors,"a brown she-cat growled at her apprentice.
"Greetings Lynxfang,"Pantherclaw greeted the newcomer with a slight nod, though not really pleased. He didn't really like the short-tempered she-cat.
Lynxfang nodded back to Pantherclaw curtly, before turning her attention to Skyleaper. "Oh, what are you doing out here psycho-bird,"the she-cat hissed without even hiding her displeasure.

Skyleaper smiled at Galepaw at least someone respected his dream even if it was only a little, he glanced around his wild amber yellow eyes hardly staying on topic as he looked up at the sky, he didn't even hear Pantherclaw insult him, he was to busy thinking about flying. He could already picture himself high in the sky, his mind wandered around as he could picture twirls and the wonderful feeling of the breeze on his face, the thrill of diving so deep and turning up just in the nick of time, he could see all the places he would go when he does fly, all the birds he would see, all the cloud he could fly through. Skyleaper sighed gently, the sense of boundless freedom was what he wanted the sense that no one could ever hurt him, or keep him trapped, he wanted to break free and fly away. He blinked hearing Lynxfang, "Why hello there, I am just out and about" He meowed simply flicking around his golden feather in pure utter joy.

Galepaw rolled his eyes and ignored his mentor. "If you taught me how to respect warriors you obviously didn't do it very well. Besides, respect is earned; not just given. Why do you think no one respects you. Their just to afraid to admit it." The orange tom sneered at his mentor.
Listening to Pantherclaw and Lynxfang argue with Skyleaper made him roll his eyes. "If prey is so important, then why are you guys sitting here discussing it and not actually hunting for it?" Galepaw requested, pointing out the obvious. "I mean, isn't that kinda what warriors and apprentices are supposed to, I don't know.... do?" Galepaw flicked his tail and began cleaning his paw again.

"Are you still carrying that stupid feather around Skyleaper?"the she-cat sneered, leering at the golden feather critically. She had the desire to swat it off the tom's tail and rip it into shreds. Galepaw's response snapped her green eyes toward him with anger alight. "Alright brat, you shut up!"she snarled, boxing the apprentice's ear with her paw. "Since you think you're so good, go catch 5 more rabbits. Do it in 5 minutes or no prey for you,"Lynxfang snapped.
Pantherclaw watched the mentor and apprentice silently, his eyebrows cocked up in skeptic. It looked as if these two loathed each other, like bickering apprentices. Why Lynxfang was assigned to be galepaw's mentor, he had no idea.

Galepaw looked at his mentor skeptically. "Uh. At least I got a rabbit. Your paws look pretty empty to me." Galepaw twitched his ears. He knew Lynxfang was being serious, but he didn't care what she said. If she wasn't going to feed him he would find his own food. Not meaning to be mean to the other apprentices, but he knew he was the best hunter there was out of them.
Grinning at Skyleaper he wondered what it looked like for the cat to try and fly. "How do you plan on flying?" His voice was full of curiosity and he knew Lynxfang would take his ear off for asked but at the moment he didn't care. He knew how to fight, he had already gotten into struggles with her before. The rabbit safely under his body, Galepaw continued cleaning himself, now moving onto his side. He was still listening to what was happening and could see his mentor out of the corner of his eye.

Skyleaper had spaced out again, his dreams, his wonderful daydreams of flight clear in his mind, he blinked and glanced down at Galepaw, "well I um... I was jumping" he said, "Jumping from branch to branch at first, it's called branching, and then I'd jump out of the tree, I get higher everytime, but I am not ready yet" he said dreamily, he smiled ran off swiftly heading for the trees so he could try again. Skyleaper jumped up into a tree climbing to a tall branch, he smiled up happily at the sky in his mind pictures raced of all the sights he would see.

"Don't ignore me you twerp!"Lynxfang hissed, clouting Galepaw again across the ears. When the tom still refused to obey and, instead, turned to ask Skyleaper how he was to fly, Lynxfang just pretty much snapped. Her fur bristled indignantly and her green eyes were livid, glaring right at her apprentice. "You wanna learn how to fly so much? Here!" She lunged forward and grasped Galepaw on the scruff roughly and flung him over the hill. "Hurry up and get me those rabbits!"the brown she-cat yowled at the sailing apprentice, flicking her tail contemptuously.
((Lol, hope you guys can imagine this XD))

Galepaw was casually minding his own business when a sharp pain pierced his neck and before he knew it he felt a flying sensation before plummeting down to the ground. Hitting the ground hard Galepaw landed on his feet, his legs absorbing the pressure of the hit.
Growling Galepaw stood up and almost let out a howl of rage but he held back. He was tired of his stupid snob mentor pushing him around so much. Thinking Galepaw paced slowly back and forth behind the hill out of sight and hearing distance of the other cats. Flying... Flying... He thought. You know what! I AM going to show Lynxfang I can fly. Galepaw thought crookedly. Glancing in the distance he saw that the gather of trees outstretched into a line. Trotting Galepaw raced toward the trees far enough away that Lynxfang could not see him. Gaining momentum, he jumped and hit a tree hard in the chest but his claws hung onto the bark.
Climbing up to a thick branch he did what Skyleaper said he does. At first he was slow, climbing to the tip of a sturdy branch and jumping off to another one from a different tree. Many times he almost fell but he managed to get his grip with his front claws and pull his weight up to be level on the branch. After some practice the branches didn't shake as much when he jolted from one tree to another. After traveling for what seemed like forever, Galepaw came upon a tree that was directly above his hated mentor and luckily there were many leaves still on the tree to hide him from view. He saw her glaring at Skyleaper and felt agitated that she was such an obnoxious and unfriendly cat. Bunching his back legs, Galepaw sprung out of the tree, not even thinking of the damage it could have caused.
Landing dead onto his so much 'loving' mentor, he let out a battle cry and bit her in the ear. "How do you like your ear to be scratched at or bit all the time? Huh?! You crazy cat!" Galepaw screamed in frustration. Scratching at her with his back legs; he felt bad for attacking his mentor and he knew he would get in trouble but at the time he did not care. He already felt rejection from everyone he knew. Why not just make it worse?

Lynxfang glared at her apprentice as he dashed away, snorting contemptuously. She turned her attention to Skyleaper, hissing as he attempted to fly agian. Rolling her eyes, she barely registered that her apprentice was above her until his weight landed dead center on top of her. She felt the wind get knocked out from her chest as well as her legs as she fell down to the earth. A sharp pain met her flesh and she let out a screech. b[]"Why you little BRAT!!"[/b]she screeched, turning over quickly and kicking her apprentice off, sending him flying off. Lynxfang quickly rolled back onto her paws and lashed her tail. "Alright twerp. Since you're so eager, we're battle training,"the brown tabby snarled, unsheathing her claws. With quick agility, she darted forward and rammed into her apprentice. "Fight like you would brat!"she taunted, snapping her teeth at him.
"....!" Pantherclaw pretty much had a face like this: O________O From the moment Lynxfang flung her apprentice harshly without care to when Galepaw ruthlessly jumped Lynxfang. And now both were a whirlwind of teeth and claws, spitting curses at each other. Was this wrong? He wondered if this happened often between them. That would pretty much explain why each bore fresh scratches everytime they returned. But they were just scratchs, nothing life-threatening. They're both crazy...he thought, not wanting to interfere in case they started ripping at him into shreds. He glanced at Skyleaper who was atop a tree. Plus that psycho one makes three... This day just kept getting wierder and wierder.

Galepaw growled deep in his throat. Anger bubbled up inside his white chest that had a small slash of blood. There was a stinging in his back where he had hit the ground without being able to regain balance on his feet. "You always have to get your way don't you!!" He howled at her, ignoring everything but the quick decisive movements of his mentor's body right before she was about to strike.
Seeing her move Galepaw side stepped and jutted out with his claws toward her side. Snagging her side, Galepaw had a piece of fur and skin under is claws. Smirking he danced back, trying to avoid his mentor. What he made up for in being a smaller size she made up for in quickness and practice. "Why do you hate me so much? What did I ever do to you to make your life so miserable, that you have to pick on everyone else to make yourself feel better? Huh!" Galepaw was slightly breathless but that didn't stop the words that cascaded out of his mouth. Dancing around, he tried to detect what her next move would be before she did it.
Swatting to and fro, he got hit several times by her quick wit and sharp claws. Lynxfang hit him hard in the side and sneered words into his face. Tumbling back, Galepaw ran other Pantherclaw with his body and didn't even apologize before engaging back into the fight his mentor had led on.

"Brats like you just irritate me!"Lynxfang spat back, fur bristling.
Pantherclaw let out a grunt of pain as Galepaw accidentally slammed into him. "Alright that's enough!"he yowled out angrily, pretty much ticked off not just because of Lynxfang's unusual teachings but because he was getting hurt as well. "Lynxfang, stop tormenting your apprentice this way! Zephyrstar willl hear about this from me if you continue to harm your apprentice,"the black-furred tom threatened, glaring at Lynxfang.
Lynxfang rolled her eyes. "Please do!"she hissed. "Anything to help me get rid of this brat,"she shot a glare at Galepaw.

Skyleaper laid down on the branch, he looked up at the sky dreaming, merely dreaming. He did that alot, just sat there almost all day and just dreamt, he'd go hunting and run around and help out as much as he could but sometimes he would just lay and dream as long as he was able to. He looked down seing Galepaw tackle his mentor made him giggle, he couldn't help it, the look on her face priceless, till she snapped. "She's lost it" he said, "Some cats are just plain crazy" he meowed rolling his eyes, how could cats act so silly over something like that.
((Rofl I was amused by that))
Skyleaper smiled happily and looked back at the sky, one day he would fly, he would indeed, just like Goldenfeather and Falconridge said, your chains keeping you captive are only as strong as the boundtries of your imagination, he was going to fly, because, his imagination had no bounds, he was forever free, and one day he would prove it, with or without wings.

Galepaw growled at both older cats. Blood was pouring out of his paw and ear, matting his fur with red. "Oh yes! And you are the victim here!" Galepaw howled at his mentor. "You are the one that gets flung over hills and told to slave away catching rabbits all day! You're not the one who feels like leaving the clan! I probably am thanks to you! You are the one that..." Galepaw cut himself off.
Fuming with rage, he stalked off with a limp; heading away from camp. Stupid no good dirty rotten prey stealing bird killing venom spitting she-cat! Galepaw thought in a huff. Traveling through the territory he didn't care who or what saw him and he must have scared 3 rabbits into their holes. There is your precise prey! He thought. Galepaw felt the urge to spit in his mentors face just then, not caring if she killed him for it. Dieing would be better then having to go another day with her as my mentor.
Sulking, Galepaw hadn't even noticed he had ventured to the edge of his clans territory. Not thinking about it twice; he crossed the border and continued walking, heading into an unknown region he had never been before. Sniffing the air, Galepaw did not detect any familiar clan cat scents. The feeling of his paw and ear faded away as his mind started filling with curiosity of where he was traveling to. Stupid Lynxfang. All she had to do was leave Skyleaper alone. What did he ever do to her? What did ANYONE ever do to her. She was just a mean crabby cat who will probably never get another apprentice in her life. Galepaw thought cruelly.

"Galepaw!"Pantherclaw called to the retreating figure, but the apprentice had gone away from view.
"Good riddance,"Lynxfang hissed, rolling her eyes exasperately.
"No, we're getting him back before he gets hurt,"the black furred tom hissed at the brown tabby she-cat, glaring at her with stern yellow eyes. "It's your fault he ran away and now it's our responsiblity to get him back! You're coming too Skyleaper!" Pantherclaw beckoned his tail for Skyleaper to join them.
"Tch, fine,"Lynxfang muttered, not bothering to argue for she knew Pantherclaw would start scolding her again. And she was exactly in the mood to listen to him rant. And partly because deep down, though she wasn't aware of it, she was worried about Galepaw.

Skyleaper jumped out of the tree swiftly, having lots of practice, he did it almost effortlessly. He landed gracefully on his paws and dipped his head, "Of course I am coming" he meowed, "Can't let a little flyer go harmed now can I?" He meowed refering to how Galepaw attacked Lynxfang by jumping from a tree. "Galepaw is a wonderful apprentice, you should treat him better Lynxfang" he meowed following after where Galepaw had wandered off, he wished he had an apprentice like that, he would teach him everything he knew.

Scents waifed into Galepaw's nose, telling him that he was in new and dangerous territory. Though he knew he should have been afraid, he couldn't help the emotion that blossomed into his heart. Excitement. Adventure. What he had always wanted but it was always a mouse length away. Freedom.
Sighing, Galepaw let the new scents he had smelled out of his nose and into the chilling air around him. Though he could not feel the cold through his pelt that had begun to slowly thicken in the past few weeks, he could feel the uneasiness of the air around him. For some reason, Galepaw just knew; there were no rules here. There was no one to stop you from jumping and ripping out another's throat or stealing their prey. Danger hung in the air, almost tangible, like the small trickles of fear that waved off of him. The ground had become hard under his feet, and at first what seemed to be small rocks became huge boulders, bleached and never moving from their spot. The river that had chugged on calmly through his journey here became more rushed, anxious to get away from this greedy place. It was as if every organism was fighting to get enough air, that what they had wasn't good enough so they had to steal another's for their peace.
Galepaw's face hardened into a mask of defiance and facaded strength. He never knew how much he relied on the safety of his clan until now. Frowning he realized he did not want his clans protection here, as if a bunch of cats traveling together attracted to much unwanted attention. The river, now rushed and ramp-id became farther and farther away and Galepaw realized the ground was getting higher up, the wind now becoming more violent, like everything else here.
Thinking back Galepaw remembered as a kit a story about this place. His memory tugged at the back of his mind of rabid cats that attacked at no command and nothing to gain. Rogue Canyon. As soon as the word developed in his mind, a scratch of lightning hit the sky above him. Galepaw just now noticed the looming threat of the clouds over head. Promising a war of rain and lightning yet to come. The whole canyon was a wasteland yet a battlefield. He felt the ground shift beneath his feet and it seemed to whisper to him to fight anything and everything here. It was a guilty pleasure that came at a cost; living here. The sky got bright again with a new blinding flash of lightning and the roar of thunder echoing in his ears. The first drop of rain, wet and cold. The second drop, colder. Three, Four, Five; each one worse then the one before. Ice seemed to form on his pelt though Galepaw knew he was imagining it. The wind. He thought as it screamed in his ears, sounding like the horror of lost warrior souls. Galepaw's mouth formed a stubborn line and he took another step, heading farther and farther into what seemed like death in this seemingly abandoned wasteland called the Rogue Canyon.

"Don't lecture me flying fool,"Lynxfang retorted at Skyleaper before stalking ahead of the cats.
"Geez, I don't know how she became a warrior,"Pantherclaw muttered to Skyleaper with a roll of his eyes. He padded wearily after Lynxfang, keeping an eye out for the apprentice.
The group traveled for a few minutes, following Galepaw's scent. They followed it until the end of Dawnclan territory. "That idiot,"Lynxfang hissed, looking ahead to see the dark sihlouette of the canyon loom ahead.
For once, Pantherclaw pretty much agreed with Lynxfang about her apprentice. Rogue's Canyon was dangerous place, especially for a new apprentice like Galepaw. If the apprentice met any rogues, he'd be ripped to shreds. "Come on, we better hurry,"the black tom urged, stepping out of Dawnclan territory and following after Galepaw's trail towards the hostile territory.

Skyleaper blinked and nodded at Pantherclaw, "I so am amazed" he meowed staring blankly at Lynxfang. He was no fool, but he was different from most cats that was true enough, but he was one of the nicest cats you'd ever meet, strange yes, nice oh yes! He wasn't like Lynxfang, he'd love to have Galepaw as an apprentice, or at least an apprentice would be nice, but either way he'd still have time to fly. Skyleaper gasped a bit, it wasn't good at all, Galepaw was in rogue territory the poor apprentice, he could be torn to shreads, he had to make sure he was okay. He took off running towards the scent.

Galepaw frowned at the sky, wondering why it would choose this day and time to go black. Looking down, he noticed the water in the river was now rushing around the edge of the canyon, hitting the rock and making some boulders cascade into the water. Leaning over, Galepaw didn't even realize he was close to the edge until he felt the rough surface of the ground give way underneath his paws. Yowling in alarm Galepaw jumped back and hit a wall of fur. Growling Galepaw turned and saw a fluff of black that seemed to blend in with the sky for a moment before he saw the yellow flash of glaring eyes. Galepaw let a hiss escape his lips and his fur puffed up along his neck and stretched down along his back until his tail was a big puff of orange and white fur. Galepaw was highly aware of the earth below him, and the noise of the gushing water only a few feet behind him. Growling he unsheathed his claws and waited to see what this new mysterious cat would do.

Raven was a loner, well more a rogue over loner, she had killed her own mother and shunned her name, she was Now Raven, her old life left behind. She wandered out, ways away from where she had last been, but now she had something more interesting to look upon. Raven's dark yellow eyes glanced upon a small cat, he smelled of a clan that was for certain, now that did interest Raven a bit, she was indeed interested in joining a clan, but she hadn't been sure she would ever. She stared at his orange and white fur, "Who are you?" She hissed lowly at the cat.

Galepaw glared at the new cat. She smelled of no clan to him and he caught the scent of blood come from her though she did not look wounded nor covered in blood. He growled slightly when he heard the low voice of the she-cat ask him the question he expected to hear from her lips. "Your worst nightmare." He growled back. A small voice in the back of his mind that sounded irritatingly like Lynxfang, warned him to not make a foul of himself when he was backed up against a ledge that spiked down to a river.
Frustrated Galepaw ignored the voice and focused on the cat before him. "The names Galepaw. And I'm an apprentice of Dawnclan so you better watch yourself." He watched the black cat intently, watching every move she made.
