whistling through a cave was the brisk wind that always greeted leaf-fall with a mother's embrace. the melodic chime of the echoes of the walls had lulled the velvet pelted she-cat into a deathlike slumber; chest rising and lowering very slowly, body unmoving otherwise in a no dream state. the cat was unaware of the last that she had received such a marvelous sleep, so deep and pure that it cleansed her body of her aches and her mind of the fatigue that had smothered it for nearly a moon. her never-ceasing throb had now started to ebb away. the source of the pain had not been known to her, until a little while ago, and she distinguished that is was not physical, it was all mental. unconsciously she had given herself the horrible, dull throb of a migraine and had failed to take it away. until today.
twisting onto her other side, the she-cat pulled her limbs in and arched her back, with her head rested neatly in the crook of her legs and a soft purr rumbled smoothly from within her small chest. wrapping around her body, the wind ruffled her pelt and hinder stirred, half awake. the sleep had been so good to her, she had never wanted to wake up and face the world that had been so incredibly cruel to her. her body tightened up and with a small sigh, she fell back to sleep, though not as heavy as the last one. though her body was asleep, her mind wasn't. pictures started to play; a movie on fast forward. a twitch of her legs. the earliest memories shot into her eyes: three frightened kits, large cats, cold, starving dying . . . hinder wanted to wake up, get out of this horror film that was her mind and back into crude, arms of reality.
the face of her father, terror ridden, angry, pained screamed into view and her body convulsed waking her up with a strangled cry. her heart pounded like a thousand drums and the winds song was no longer comforting but haunting. then the panic set in. where was she?! hinder rose to her feet slowly. she didn't recognize the musty, cold smell of damp rock, she was used to the crisp, scent of pine and poplar. this was just to dingy. hinder gazed around with her dead, yellow eyes and found the faint light from the pearl that hung in the sky and hastily paced to wards it, her body shaking from her episode only moments earlier; it was so out of character for the tiny she-cat that she wasn't even sure what had happened. it was not something should would like to go through again. stepping out of the cave onto the ledge, she rose her eyes to the moon and took a deep breath of the cool night air. and recalled what had happened.
it had been a long time since she had had a nightmare; even longer since she had had one about her kithood. they were terrifying as most nightmares were of course. but they also gave her an odd feeling, one that was hard to shake and that made her sick to her stomach. as a matter of fact, she felt her gut grow hot and her haunches trembled and she sank to a sitting position with her head down taking shallow breaths. the whole deal seemed to pointless and horrible to her right now. she was a murderer, not a home sick kitten for moon's sake! if anyone seen her like this, she would have to rip their throats out she decided, lowering her warm body to the cool light drenched ledge and greedily placed her churning belly so that it was directly on the stone. hinder groaned and heaved over the side and her body gave another shudder before becoming still, her breathing returning to normal. groaning she let her head fall to the ground.

Raven, she was a young she-cat, only 8 moons, not even a warrior, young, beautiful, but dangerous for her age, dispite her small look. She named herself, her old name unsuited her for, unfitting, unnatural. Dove, what a horrible name, completely unlike her. Her pelt a pure black colour, her eyes a deep yellow, she was well built from fighting other rogues, she eve had a bit of her left ear torn off, nothing to serious though, but it added to her look of danger. It wasn't just her look though, her personality was one you didn't want to mess with either, Raven is the kind of cat you want as a friend, she'd ruin your life if you made youself an enemy. Not to say she isn't nice, but she's not, she is mostly mean all the time, her sarcastic tongue unmatched, her harsh words and comments. Raven will, however if she trusts you will be nice to you, in a weird kinda way, her own way of showing it. She knows her way around and simply refuses to to take no for an answer, if you want her as a friend, best stay on her good side and never, ever call her a kittypet.
Kittypet, she shuddered at the word, almost threating to hiss, how she hated that word, dispite her once being a kittypet she hated being called one because of her past, if she ever saw another one, she'd most likely claws it's eyes out, she hated them so much. She caught a strange scent which broke her train of thought, "Mouse-dung" She swore quietly, she hoped it wasn't a clan cat, she was interested in them, but now was not a good time, she took in a breath again and noticed it wasn't, so she decided to stalk after it and see what it what that had caught her nose.

as the warm feeling in her stomach began to ease, hinder took a chance to try to move onto her paws again and was instantly hit with another gut wrenching wave of neasua that sent her to the earth once more with a groan of pain and she heaved again this time, whimpering with the pain. she shut her eyes tight against the pain and took a deep breath. the air struck her lungs like a steel knife and she coughed and rolled over onto her back in pain. a groan broke from her lips and she stared into the diamond speckled sky, her pained filled eyes not really seeing. hinder heaved again this time, her body relaxed immediately and the pain ceased almost immediately. she breathed in deeply and forced herself up onto her feet, swaying slightly. as soon as the dizziness passed, her fur stood on end. there was another creature around.
unsheathing her claws hinder lowered her tail, the tip flicking ever so slightly and her ears swiveling towards the source of the unease that had settled itself upon her lithe frame. the stank scent of the cat touched her nostrils and she turned her body to where the smell was coming from. debating on whether or not she wanted to face the enemy cat, hinder slipped back inside the cave and licked the stream of water that ran down the wall. the musty liquid touched her tongue and sent a shiver down her spine, rejuvenating her and she knew then that she could take anyone no matter what they were. raising her tail into the air, hinder sauntered outside of the cave again her usual arrogance and pride back upon her and she made her way towards the smell slowly figuring out what gender it was and whether or not it was a clan cat.
the deductions told her it was a she-cat and most definitely not a clan cat. hinder’s pace picked up and not a moment to soon she stopped just as she was about to run head long into the cat of interest. instinctively she let out a hiss and a low growl and her fur erected itself down her spine and her black ears fell against her small head. her brow furrowed. it was just a kit! hinder took a step back thoroughly confused for a solid five seconds. what was a kit doing down here in the canyon? surely it wasn’t that stupid! there were all sorts of nasty habitants. but then again, why the heck did hinder care? right, she didn’t? the confusion upon her scolding features turned to amusement and she let out a little giggle. this cat was going to get killed . . . too bad she wasn’t’ one to kill she-cats. cocking an eyebrow, hinder brought it upon herself to make the first act of introduction.
"oh my darling! what are you doin’ so far away from mommy?" hinder cooed mockingly, a gleam creeping into her placid eyes. they scanned the little she-cats body, not unlike her own, but maybe more stocky then her long lean one. though hinder wasn’t concerned. she had taken down mice bigger than this kit in her sleep. raising her head high, she glared down her nose at the cat, daring her to try something, or say something that would make hinder attacking her justified. in the distance, a wolf howled.

Raven was young, that was true, but she had seen many battles. She had hardly ever lost, it was rare for her, the she-cat had killed before, her first victom being her own mother, she had slit her throat and laughed as she died. It was her own fault, Raven didn't like being treated like she was and did something about it, even left her sister behind, changed her name and took on a whole new personality. Raven was now what she was today because of that moment in time, oh well she at least liked herself now. She was sly, stubborn and very sarcastic, and lovely personality for herself. She was only 8 moons but she acted way over what her age really was.
Raven's dark yellow eyes glared at the she-cat who had dared to say that to her, her eyes didn't leave the she-cat even though she dug her claws in the ground and bared her fangs ready to strike, "I killed her so yea" She meowed harshly smirking a bit, the small cat didn't come off a kit, but more of a warrior if anything else, she had certainly seen many fights, her left ear was torn a bit, it was her own fault for tripping on the rock, but you should have seen the tom afterwards.

hinder observed the little she-cat with sick interest, her dead eyes glowing maliciously and a demonic smile playing upon her lips. this cat was amusing her! the way she held herself, it was like hinder was looking upon a younger version of her present self, the thought intrigued her. the way the light danced devilishly off the little she's yellow eyes brought a flaring interest and a hint of uncertainty. this cat couldn't be more than a moon old for sure! she concluded, okay, maybe that was a bit of an hyperbole, but whatever, she was rogue she was allowed to make stupid assumptions. when the she-cat spoke the words about her mother, hinder cackled evilly and then glared fiercly at the cat.
"you killed your mother? mhmm, and i'm a clan cat!" she cooed smoothly, her puples reducing to slits within their yellow blankets. the tip of her tail lashed in an awkward motion, hinder curled her lip menacingly and her eye narrowed. "look kit, i was having a nice restful sleep when your purtid scent woke me from it." a rolling growl erupted from her chest and she raised and unsheathed paw and struck, stopping about an inch away from the she-cats head. "scared'ya didn't i?" hinder giggled and coyly flicked the cat on the nose with her tail as she turned and looked up at the moon. in other situations, this would be stupid move, but hinder wasn't concerned, like come on, the cat was a kit. hinder had caught prey bigger than her. the thought made her laugh heartily.
ooc// grrr sooo short, sorry Ravvy

Raven frowned at the she-cat she wasn't scary, heck she'd seen scarier things in a two-leg home, and that stuff wasn't deathly. She muttered quietly under her breath, "Your stupid enough to be one" after the she-cat had insulted her, which was true, she was rather stupid, after all Raven did indeed kill her mother, it had been the best day of her life, a day she wouldn't forget. Raven rolled her dark yellow eyes, "I've seen snails scarier then you" She meowed simply, she truely had, it was all squished and twitching like, it looked rather creepy which was more then she could say for this she-cat who was trying to scare her, and failing rather badly at it, "And Don't Call Me Kit" She hissed lowly.

with her back still to the young she-cat, hinder pondered what to do about her. she seemed to be easy enough to deal with, cats that talked big usually were of course, it was like an unwritten law. but there were always those chosen few who were not what they seemed. for all hinder knew, and she was praying that this wasn't true, the she-cat behind her wasn't just talk. though she was young, you couldn't tell ones strengths by that. hinder was in no shape for a fight, her body just wasn't in for it right now. the tight feeling from earlier reared it's ugly head every now and then and it took all of the she-cats strength to not wince at the pain. it was never a smart move to show weakness.
when the she-cat spoke, hinder's ears flickered and it surprised her briefly. she was certain the cat would've left by now. well, now isn't this just peachy! she thought to herself, emitting a threatening growl as the cat insulted her. the nerve of some cats was daunting. it was, however, amusing to see their reactions when they realized they were smart mouthing a murderer. the thought sketched a twisted, ugly smile across her usually pretty features. turning her head so that she could just see the she-cat, hinder let out a small, mocking snort and then flicked her tail with arrogance. when she spoke, the words rang eerily through the night, bouncing off the walls of the canyon.
"you've got a lot of nerve kit. blatantly lying to a seasoned cat. if only you knew the amount of blood written in my past. maybe then you wouldn't be so cocky about the way you talk." the fur along her spine stood up against a chilling wind that swept over the area where they were standing and she let her lithe black body succumb to a shiver. hinder turned her body around to face the little she-cat. "i'm sorry, where are my manners?! guess mommy wasn't around to teach them to me!" snarling out the words, hinder turned out a sickly sweet smile, and sugar coated her next words. "i'm hinder by the way my dear. you'd be wise not to forget my name. i'm sure you've heard it before." a cock of her eyebrow, and a curl of her lip.
