Normally Foxpaw would sleep all day but she knew today she had training with her mentor, Insectfeet. Foxpaw lazily got out of the den and tiredly looked around for Insectfeet. After yawning Foxpaw looked for her mentor again.

Insectfeet was just returning from an early morning hunt, bursting into camp and quickly dropping a few morsels of pretty in the pile before bounding right back out again. She had spotted the coolest bug ever, and there was no way she was passing it up. Much to her dismay though, the tiny creature was gone by the time she got back to where she had found it.
She was down in the dumps about it for a while, but then remembered that she was supposed to start training Foxpaw today. She frantically ran back into camp and skidded to a halt in front of the apprentices den. There Insectfeet found Foxpaw, still yawning from sleep, "Morning, Foxpaw!" She said excitedly, "Ready for your first day of training?!"

Find anything interesting on your hunt?" While waiting for Insectfeet, Foxpaw looked at her fur. Ugh, always needs cleaning!

Insectfeet didn't ponder for long about her hunting trip before she blurted, "I caught a couple mice and a squirrel and something else I think I forgot.....and I saw this awesome bug that was..." She stopped herself before continuing, noticing she was babbling and rambling once again. "Anyway, it was a pretty decent hunt." The she-cat then stared up into the sky for a few moments, her mind completely blank for once.
Then it hit her, "Oh right your training!" She fidgeted where she sat, then said, "Ah, I suppose I should show you around the territory or something...." Insectfeet had no idea how she would pull off being a mentor, but she was going to give it her best shot.

"Okay! Are we going to do the perimeter of the territory or the whole territory?"Foxpaw mewed. Foxpaw turned around not to be rude but to clean her tail which looked like it had a bug in it.

Insectfeet thought for a moment, then replied, "Ummm....I was thinking mostly along the borders, but we'll see." She was about to lead Foxpaw out of camp, but the apprentice stopped to clean her tail. Of course, Insectfeet easily spotted a bug that had crawled into Foxpaw's pelt, but she quickly diverted her attention away from the fascinating little insect. The hyper cat instead looked around camping, hoping no one was seeing how awkward of a mentor she was being.
After a few moments, Insectfeet said, "As soon as you're ready, we can be on our way." She was fidgeting a bit impatiently as she waited for Foxpaw to finish grooming.

Finally finishing her grooming, Foxpaw mewed, "Okay sorry my pelt always gets matted up. I hate it at times. Ready when you are!" Foxpaw padded over to her mentor and waited for Insectfeet to give the order.

{Could you try and make your posts longer? The site rules say 90-100 words is the minimum} [atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,000000,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Insectfeet continued to wait impatiently as her apprentice finished grooming her pelt. When Foxpaw was finally done, she padded over to Insectfeet's side and awaited orders. "Okay then, let's go!" She led her apprentice out of camp and into the vast forest of Fireclan's territory. She pondered the route they should take, then told Foxpaw, "I think we'll go allow the river first. It's our border from all the other clans." As she padded through the forest, the sounds of the water trickling down the stream became louder and louder. When she reached the banks of the river, she turned to Foxpaw and asked, "Have you ever scented the other clans before?" She leaped over a bit to the left and pointed with her tail, "Mistclan is over there..." Then she bounded back over towards the right, "And Dawnclan's over here. Moonclan is farther back behind Dawnclan."

(i'll try, sorry)
Following her mentor, Foxpaw noticed that there was water trickling up ahead. Hearing Insectfeet's question she replyed, "No, actually, I haven't because this is the first time I've been out of the camp. I've heard warriors talk about the other clans though." Looking where her mentor was pointing, Foxpaw mewed, "Isn't that where fourtrees is? Can we go there? I want to see what it is like. Please can we go there?" Unable to keep her excitement in, Foxpaw a butterfly and started to chase it.

{We don't call it Fourtrees on this site by the way, I guess we don't really have a name for it, but it has a big oak tree and 4 rock pillars for the leaders to stand on} [atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,000000,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Insectfeet nodded about Foxpaw never having scented the other clans before. She figured that would be the case, but knew herself that sometimes kits wandered out of camp and would know far more than they should about the territory when they became apprentices. It was rather impressive that Foxpaw hadn't snuck out before, and that she spotted where the clans had their gatherings, "Yes, we have gatherings over there. I guess we could go check it out for a bit if you really want." Before Insectfeet even said that, the apprentice began frolicking about chasing a butterfly. Insectfeet stared intently at the pretty bug for many moments, but then shook her head quickly, coming back to reality. She needed to stop acting like a distracted kit now, she was supposed to be training Foxpaw! And yet, her apprentice reminded her so much of herself, it was rather heartwarming.
"Come on, let's go take a quick look." She then lead her apprentice into the clearing where gatherings were held. In the center, there stood a huge oak tree, "That's the Great Oak..." She said, twitching her tail over towards it. Equally spaced around the clearing were 4 stone pillars. Insectfeet pointed them out to her apprentice and said, "The leaders from each clan stand on a pillar to report their news at the gathering." Insectfeet rather enjoyed gatherings. It was so much fun to get to meets all kinds of other cats and hear the gossip from the other clans. "I hope I can take you to a gathering soon, they are lots of fun!"

(sorry, I'm so used to the book. ill try not to make that mistake again.)
Foxpaw, after hearing her mentor say 'only a quick look,' mewed with excitement. Leaving the butterfly she was chasing, Foxpaw bounded toward the oak tree.
Getting to the great oak tree, Foxpaw immediately jumped onto one of the rocks and asked, "Do you think I'll be a leader someday Insectfeet?" Before letting her mentor answer, Foxpaw jumped down off the rock and asked, "Which rock does our leader stand on? Oh and how tall is the great oak? Can i climb it?" Foxpaw was just bursting with questions. Finally, she calmed down enough to let her mentor speak.
