((Current RP #3 with you blazey! hahaha)) Ashpaw stormed out of camp, leaving her shocked sister behind. They'd been arguing again and as always it was about their missing parents. It wasn't that long ago that both their mother and father left DawnClan. Ashpaw knew that it wasn't Featherpaw's fault that she had believed everything Talon had said, but it was the way she acted about it, like she knew everything about their parents and what went wrong. She believed that Dawnlight was to blame and Talon wasn't. She'd been brainwashed by Talon and now Ashpaw hated him for it. If Talon hadn't joined the clan, Dawnlight would still be a member of DawnClan and the two sisters just might get along. Lashing her tail Ashpaw sped out of camp, hoping no one had just witnessed their recent argument. They had tried to keep it quiet this time.
As she jumped up onto a rock Ashpaw felt a rock dig into her pad. Hissing with pain she picked the small rock out with her teeth. Placing her pad tentatively on the smooth rock she was standing on, Ashpaw felt a sharp pain shoot through her leg. "Stupid." Ashpaw muttered, narrowing her eyes against the pain. Feeling stupid, Ashpaw began to limp towards the soft grass only a few taillengths in front of her. She was really pathetic if she was stopped from doing anything because of a rock. Settling herself down on the bright green grass Ashpaw sat unsure of what to do. Hunting would be impossible because of her pad, running through DawnClan territory was also out of the question. Ashpaw was pretty sure she'd be able to walk back to camp but it was the last place she wanted to be right now, expecially if Featherpaw was still there.

The breeze tugged his fur as he lied dozing on a particularly large rock. The sun was quite warm as he shone onto his russet pelt, making it look like he was on fire. But contrary to how it looks, he was not burning alive but contently relaxing. He was done with his duties and had nothing to do. True he could hunt, but who wants to on a nice day like this. He rolled onto his back, belly up, and gazed at the sky with lazy amber eyes. A yawn escaped him before hearing the sound of pawsteps. Flipping over, he spotted a young she-cat angrily tromping away from camp before hissing in pain from stepping on something.
"Wow..."the tom breathed, getting into a sitting position as he watched her sit down. The sun seemed to throw all its glory upon her beautiful figure. "I never noticed she was so cute,"he muttered, wolf-whistling quietly to himself.
"Hi there!"Infernopaw called impulsively, jumping down from his rock and padding over to meet Ashpaw with a friendly, and somewhat goofy, grin.

Ashpaw looked up startled. She hadn't expected to see anyone, let alone have them come up and talk to her. Most cats in DawnClan had learned to ignore her when she was in a bad mood because she usually took it out on the cats around her. Quickly hiding the look of pain that occurred whenever she put weight on her paw, Ashpaw scrambled up so she was in a sitting position. Ashpaw let the least amount of pressure on her paw without lifting it up. She didn't need another cat being sorry for her right now. Honestly, when Ashpaw looked up to see Infernopaw of all cats she wasn't as surprised. He talked to all the cats in the clan, no matter their mood. He seemed to always be... happy.
"Hi..." She said warily. She and Infernopaw have talked little as apprentice, nothing more than the occasional chat about training. "What do you want?" She asked, feeling slightly annoyed that she wasn't able to brood alone about the argument that had just happened. She always got the chance to think over things, usually ending at the conclusion that she needed to suck it up if she ever wanted to become leader one day. Leaders did not worry about their own problems, but the problems of the clan and its well being. If sucking it up was what she had to do, then that's what she'd do.

Infernopaw shrugged with a sheepish smile across his face. At least she greeted him right? Progress...progress. "Nothing much, just wanted to greet you. And maybe I was curious as to what you're doing. Are you done with your chores like me?"the dark ginger tom asked, his amber eyes alight with genuine curiosity. Feeling a slight itch in his fur, he sat down in a sideways position and lifted his left foot. He gave the spot a good scratch, looking quite goofy, yet somewhat carefree. Finally, the tickling feeling left as he claws gently scratched it off. "Whew, sorry. What were you saying?"he asked, shifting back to a regular sitting position.

Ashpaw twitched her ears in annoyance as the tom rambled on about unimportant chatter. Most cats of DawnClan only spoke to her when absolutely necessary. As he forgot what he was rambling about Ashpaw rolled her eyes. "Apprentice tasks." She mewed, raising to her paws. "And I hadn't said anything." She tested out her weight on the injured paw only to realize that her small break did nothing to help. Sighing, Ashpaw sat down in a huff and began to lick it. She was so useless.

"Hm, apprentice tasks suck huh?"Infernopaw meowed, twitching his whiskers in amusement. "I bet one of the best things about being a warrior is that you don't have to do them. Just order the apprentices around to do stuff for you,"he imagined with a laugh.
Ashpaw's gesture of pain didn't go unnoticed by the young ginger tom. "You hurt?"he asked, amber eyes full of concern. The tom crouched low and peered at her paw wound, wrinkling his nose at the smell of blood. "Ouch, that hurts,"he sympathized, standing back up. His brows furrowed, as if in deep thought, then his ears pricked up and eyes were shining with light. "I know just how to make it feel better, wait here,"he mewed, before dashing off toward the slope. He spotted the rock where he had just been dozing and quickly trotted over there. Aha! he spotted the dark leaves that poked out of the crevice of the rocks. Grabbing some with his teeth, he yanked a few fronds out of the ground. Carrying it delicately with his teeth, he ran back to Ashpaw, dropping it at her paws. "There you go! It's dock,"he mewed, grinning. "I used to get thorns in my paws all the time. The medicine cats use it. I think you just rub it on your paws,"he explained, sniffing the leaves.
"Hm...it might be nightshade though..."he half-muttered, looking at the dark leaves skeptically.

Ashpaw's ears twitched at the young tom's concern; mouse-brained tom shouldn’t even care. As he bounded away she sighed, it was hopeless. He was obviously not going to leave her alone until she was better. When he came back, she saw that he was holding leaves within his jaw. There you go! It's dock, I used to get thorns in my paws all the time. The medicine cats use it. I think you just rub it on your paws. He was grinning at her. Hm...It might be nightshade though...
Ashpaw couldn’t help but stifle a laugh as he said this and before she could stop herself she was purring and taking the dock, she knew it wasn’t nightshade, from him. She was still purring as she chewed the leaves up and spit them onto her sore paw. “I used to get scrapes on my paw all the time when I was a kit and this is what I had to do...” She paused and then thought, ‘because Dawnlight never did it for me.’ It was true; Dawnlight wasn’t the most sympathetic cat, not even towards her kits.

"Whew, that's good,"Infernopaw breathed in relief, sitting back on his haunches. A wide grin spread across his face as he heard Ashpaw purr. It was a nice sound, and he loved making cats laugh and feel elated. "Glad it wasn't nightshade. Or how am I going to explain your limp body to the Clan?"he meowed, trying to put on a joking tone. Though as he imagined that, it made him shudder inwardly. "Anyways, why are you out of camp?"he asked, trying to change the subject.

Ashpaw tensed up at his question. This was quite strange, having another cat fuss over her. Ashpaw really wasn't used to this kind of attention but she answered his question anyway. "Featherpaw" She stated, knowing that there was no need for further explination. Everyone in the clan knew the tension that has always been between her and her sister. Ashpaw was about to say something about Featherpaw but all the fight quickly drained out of her. "I just don't know what to do, all the clan ever does is compare the two of us."
Ashpaw licked her paw some more, hoping that she'd be able to walk on it soon. This conversation was beginning to get a little to personal for her liking.

Infernopaw tilted his head slightly, hearing Ashpaw mention her sister. He gave a noncommital mew of sympathy, nodding slowly to show he knew her irritation. But why they were arguing, he had no idea. "But you shouldn't be too mad at your sister. She's a part of you and I'm sure one day you'll appreciate her presence,"he meowed evenly.
"And why would the Clan compare you two? You guys may be sisters but I don't believe you two are the same,"the dark ginger tom meowed in surprise, a smile spreading across his face. "I mean, you're pret-I mean- a really good fighter in my opinion. But don't let other cats' opinion influence you,"he meowed. His ears flickered in embarrassment, hoping Ashpaw didn't catch the word he was actually going to say.

Ashpaw looked away, "I can't help but be angry at her." She mewed, feeling for the first time embarrassed about her fights with Featherpaw. "I feel under her shadow. Maybe one day when I'm a warrior and one day leader I'll feel free from her at last." She turned her gaze back towards the tom in front of her. "Maybe it's just because we're apprentices... It shouldn't be too long until we're warriors. We've been training for a long time now." Ashpaw took a deep breath and stood up, surprised to see that her paw was feeling better at last.
"I'm going for a walk." She mewed to Infernopaw, but pausing because she felt confused at what she was about to say. "Want to join me?" She was being honest, usually she liked to remain alone but just this once she felt as if she needed Infernopaw there to calm her down.

"Oh okay,"the dark ginger tom mewed, ears drooping slightly down to hear she wanted to leave him. He was enjoying her company, but when she offered an invitation, he instantly perked up. "Yea! I mean-er-sure,"Infernopaw mewed, quickly licking down his chest fur to hide his sudden enthusiastic answer, trying to cover up with nonchalance. But his heart was sure beating with excitement. "But you know how you said you'll be leader? I don't think that's going to really happen,"the tom meowed, looking, at first serious but his eyes twinkled. "Cause it's me who's going ot be leader!"he bragged, puffing out his chest.

Ashpaw had begun to purr as he agreed, shocking enough, but it stopped in her throat at his words. Just like them. The two boys who had said Featherpaw had a better chance of being leader then she did. Only one he continued did she begin to purr again. "Just because you're a tom does notmean that you'll become leader before I do. I'll beat you for sure!" She ran a head, hoping that he would follow. She hadn't felt this light on her feet in a long long time.
"Come on!" She mewed, turning her head to look back at him as she ran the other way. "I'll race you!"

Infernopaw's eyes glittered challengingly. "Oh yea?"he mewed, grinning widely. As he saw Ashpaw suddenly race forward, the dark ginger tom purred in delight and sped after her. His quick feet managed to nearly catch up to the she-cat, though he had to admit she was quite fast. He was giving his all just to keep up with her. "I'll beat you in this race just as I'm going to beat you in becoming leader!"he yowled good-naturedly, kicking up grass as he put on a burst of speed, trying to overtake Ashpaw.

Ashpaw felt her paws pound beneath her, her heart in rhythm. Each step caused her heart to lift higher until the point it was in the sky. Her paw no longer hurt, a bonus on her part, because she was soon racing a head of Infernopaw. Everyonce and a while he would get in front of her, then she would him. The race was evenly matched as they ran through the moors. At one point Ashpaw lost where the tom was, her mind was in the clouds along with her heart. She had never truly understood why Featherpaw enjoyed running so much, but maybe this was why. Maybe Featherpaw felt as if her heart and mind were in the sky as she ran. Shaking her head clear of such thoughts Ashpaw began to slow, but only slightly, to see where Infernopaw was. Ashpaw wondered, if she skidded to a stop would Infernopaw keep running or stop just as quickly.

Infernopaw's slightly shorter legs had to work harder in order to keep up with Ashpaw. Although his almost limitless amount of energy right now allowed him to stay in pace with Ashpaw. However, nature was something the fiery red tom didn't calculate as his paws suddenly hit a rabbit hole. "Argh!...Oof!"Infernopaw yelped, feeling his whole body reel forward before landing face-first into the earth. "Ugh..ow,"Infernopaw groaned, flipping onto his back to examine his sore paw. Luckily, no serious wound or injuries were apparant but now his mouth had the taste of dirt.

Ashpaw couldn't muffle an outburst of laughter and purring as she turned to see Infernopaw on the ground, tripped by either his own feet or something Ashpaw failed to see. Meandering back to him she felt the purr grow stronger. "Are you okay there?" She asked the tom, looking down on his form. It was quite a sight to see. Adding to the irony was he looked as if he was favoring a paw just as she had been doing only moments before the run.

Infernopaw had to spit out the taste of dirt from his mouth before answering Ashpaw. He gazed up at Ashpaw as her face came within his view, her figure towering over her. "I'm fine, I totally meant to do that. Was letting you win ya know?"the russet tom covered up quickly, ears hot with embarrassment to see the smirk on the she-cat's face.
He quickly scrambled to his paws, glad that his sore paw could still take enough weight to prevent him from limping.

Ashpaw watched as the russet tom stood up on awkward legs. She watched without offering help. He looked like he was doing fine on his own and she respected him for that.
Ashpaw squinted her eyes to the sky, it was just past mid-day and neither of the two cats were due back at camp any time soon. It seemed that many of the mentors had decided to give the apprentices a day off from their training.
A day off was never truly a day off for Ashpaw, she spent every spare moment of her time training privatly. She would do anything to become better than Featherpaw. Ashpaw had decided long ago that she didn't care if she was brought to the brink of exahustion after every training session, private or not. She would become a better warrior than Featherpaw. One day she would be leader of DawnClan, not Featherpaw. Ashstar... it sounded like a very powerful leader name.
At Infernopaw's words the dark gray she-cat snorted. "Of course you were." What ever made him happy...
"Come on." She meowed. She went to his side, close to his shoulder just in case he needed help with walking. "Lets go for a walk... I'll let you win this time." She rolled her eyes. "So we'll be even again. Great StarClan, I wouldn't want to owe you anything"
