Wind howled through the small cracks and holes in the wall of the den. Snores erupted from the heart of the nests, fur bristled and sneezes were blew out. It was a very cold morning, and no one was interested in moving. But one did, with a grumble and a groan, a large black and grey body shifted upon a pile o moss, ferns and feathers. They clung and tangled in his pelt as he lumbered out of the den, scowling at the cold. He vowed to himself that he would have some apprentice fix that with him, but his mind was more set on something moving outside the camp. A hot whiff of rabbit, and newborns flooded his senses. Stonestream's fur tingled with adrenaline, and he went to wake the apprentices for a lesson on hunting. Skypaw was his main priority. He was getting back on his training because of his old wound that healed after the battle. He sniffed, then nudged the closest body, murmuring his or her name to wake him or her. Stonestream growled softly and stepped over two others, nudging his apprentice sharply, then walking out of the den, waiting patiently, his gaze flitting across the camp. He picked out the rummaged warriors denning area, holes protruding. Thoughts of how anyone or anything could sleep in such a cold area was crazy. He twitched his ears and looked up at the trees, gazing at the coloured leaves. Most of the trees were bare, only a few brown or yellow leaves left dangling lifelessly along it's branches.

Stonestream yawned, lashing his tail as he looked back into the den, waiting less patiently for the chosen kits to wake and abide by him. He thought better of sitting there freezing, so he went out and padded softly around the entrance, tail curling and twisting to help him balance. His claws flexed as he drew himself up the side of a tree, scratching his claws across it's rough bark. His pelt rippled as his muscles rippled underneath his skin. He crouched on the ground, pouncing into the tree's lower branch and he crawled into the tallest branches, snagging a bird out of it's nest. He then turned around and climbed down, dropping the measly bird on the pile. It was when he noticed other warriors moving off, following patrols to hunt or mark the borders. Stonestream leaned in and growled loudly. "I will not wait any longer. Skypaw, and whoever else would like to help catch rabbits, hurry up and get moving. Unless you want to be stuck wih regular border patrol?" |
he then moved back and waited where he had smelt the rabbit hole. His tail was twitching, and other warriors were glancing in hi direction, but no one came to have him join in. The apprentices were coming, even if it were slowly. Stonestream sat, and decided to try and groom out the bedding that was tangled in his pelt. His rough tough draped over his fur, his teeth tugging on annoying knots of moss and feather. Ferns had already dropped. He groomed himself until the apprentices arrived.[/blockquote]

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,false][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,403,true]

His sky blue eyes revelead itself as his eyelids opened up, awakening him from his slumber. The apprentice to blink a few times to get rid of the grogginess in his vision. The world of black and white came to him, though half was his world was dark. The apprentice looked up to see the figure of his mentor and his tail flicked in a happy wag of greeting, though his muzzle was still rested on the side of his nest, showing he wanted to stay in the cozy bedding. However, Stonestreamdidn't seem inclined to let him sleep, but slipped out of the den. Skypaw sighed, rolling onto his back as he tried to get rid of his laziness. After a few heartbeats, he heard Stonestream's call again, which made the apprentice get back onto his paws. With a wide yawn, Skypaw padded out of the den. A chill breeze ruffled his fur. "Brr~!"his teeth chattered, padding over to Stonestream and crouching down in a huddle, his fluffy fur puffed out in attempt to block out the cold air. "Are we really hunting in the cold?"he asked his mentor, looking up with pleading eyes. Normally, the apprentice was always eager to hunt, but the frosty air just dampened his enthusiasm.
