"W-wait!" A small voice exclaimed, barely audible among the shuffling of leaves and having a nervous tone to it. "Emberkit, wait!" Falconkit emphasized the wait, contradicting his normally calm voice. I'm getting fed up with these "explorations," really there is no fathoming how different we are. He added that last part silently in his head.
"Well, I wouldn't have to wait if you caught up!" The eccentric little kit ran circles around his brother, literally. Emberkit was often like this, oblivious to the annoyed Falconkit, even as his deep and intimidating blue eyes stared into his child-like ones. "Honestly, how do you not have this much energy after sitting in the nursery all day long?"
"It's a wonder isn't it?" Falconkit said with a sarcastic edge. "You know with you pestering me into oblivion all day long I wonder how I would not be tired."
Emberkit, being Emberkit, ignored him like he did half of the time. That didn't come as a surprise to Falconkit, it just left him feeling envious again. Why couldn't he have this much energy? Why couldn't he be so carefree? Why couldn't he pretend like his sister's mysterious disappearance had never happened? But somehow Falconkit knew he didn't want to forget, no matter how much pain it caused him. He saw it as being better in the long run.
"Let's go already, it's a beautiful day, and it's been cloudy and gloomy for a while." Emberkit skidded across the forest floor and landed ungracefully in front of his brother, tail twitching in anticipation.
Falconkit had to admit, it was a nice day. The light filtered brightly through the tree canopy, fading out like a gradient at the end where it was replaced with dozens of multi-colored fallen leaves slowly twirling in the breeze without a care in the world. Without a care... that would be nice. He thought while looking up at a red leaf that drifted slowly and landed between the two brothers. "Fine then. We can go explore for a little while, but lets not go too far." Falconkit said, the trace of bitterness gone from his voice. He could always leave it to his brother to brighten things up for him.
"Yes!" Emberkit bolted upright, sending a few leaves into the air. He sprinted to the other end of camp, looking back once to see if his brother was following him. It was because of this he didn't see the cat he was on a collision path with, and he fell to the ground after he ran into the other cat face-first.
Falconkit ran a little faster, coming to his brother's side. "Emberkit, really?" He whispered to him as he sat down. "Terribly sorry, I'm afraid my brother can be quite clumsy at times." Falconkit said, trying to be polite as possible.
"Hey, was that really necessary?" Emberkit muttered as he stood up.
"Yes. Yes it was." Falconkit whispered with a teasing edge to his voice. He gave his brother an amused glance, and Emberkit glanced back, laughter in his eyes.

"Ouch, what the-?the jet black tom nearly fell over as his front leg seemed to have been hit by some furball. He managed to keep from falling on his face, though his haunches weren't so lucky as they fell to the floor. Startled, Padpaw had dropped the ball of moss that he had just taken out of the elder's den. The perfectly spherical moss became strewn across the floor from the impact. "Dude! It took me forever to make that,"he pouted, gathering up bits of moss with his paw, though abandoning the attempt afterward. He was going to throw those at a warrior-perhaps Revolutionstar or his mentor Sunflash-but the plan seemed to have been thwarted by the young kit. "Oh well, no big deal. I'll get some more later,"Padpaw decided with a casual shrug. The apprentice looked down and seemed to have realized Falconkit and Emberkit sitting there. "Hey there runts,"he greeted with a cocky smirk, feeling quite superior to them since they were much smaller than his bigger stature.

The reactions of the two kits to the situation were very obviously different. There was Falconkit, who was sitting up straight and looking the apprentice in the eyes, and then there was Emberkit who was shuffling his paw in the leaves and looking around, absorbed in something else.
StarClan, he has the attention span of a mouse. The more mature kit Falconkit thought as he respectfully dipped his head as he saw others do on occasion. He was very observant, and picked up on the actions and patterns of others quickly. "Hello. I'm sorry about your moss." Falconkit said, all the while wondering if Emberkit would notice the glances he was giving him, as if urging him to apologize as well. It didn't work of course.
Emberkit's blue eyes lit up, suddenly remembering what they came outside to do in the first place. "Hey! Can I help you go get some more? If I go outside of camp with an older cat it's okay right?" The little kit pleaded, his big blue eyes looking up at the older cat while he was practically shaking with excitement.
Did he come up with this from the beginning or something?. Falconkit thought as he looked from his brother to the older cat, puzzled at his brother's logic. It they were caught, it would get Padpaw in trouble too.
Through his thoughts, the penetrating sound of his brother pleading with the cat made him lose his concentration and Falconkit let out a quiet sigh. If anything, Emberkit was persistent. He had to give him that.

"Tch, don't worry about the moss. The elder's can get if for all I care,"Padpaw replied with a roll of his eyes. An itch appeared behind his ear, which he took care of with a vigorous scratch of his hind leg. When he heard Emberkit begging to go outside camp to collect moss, the apprentice gave him a look like he was crazy. "Why would you want to collect moss. There's more excitement than just collecting moss. Like fox hunting!"he declared with a mischevious smile.

Sweetclaw hissed,"Foul words Padpaw. You will not fill these kits' heads with your silly little mischeif. Now,I refuse to let either of you out of this camp, and Padpaw,go mess with your apprentice buddies or something and leave these kits alone." She flicked her tail at Padpaw,a little bossily, but proudly. Sweetclaw scooched the kits away from the exit out of camp,"Now. I'll teach you two how to do some hunting moves and mabye a few defense moves if you promise too stay away from Padpaw." She smiled gingerly at the cute little kits, she had always wanted kits of her own,but sadly had no mate.
