On the abandoned bridge, the strange alien object the Twolegs made up a long time ago, a small black she-cat sat straight, her pelt groomed recently. Gray eyes looked at the river below. It is her free time, being away from the clan. Being a warrior is exhausting. She secretly loved being alone, but the idea of a loner's life made her gag with disgust. The clan is her family and she could not bear leaving them. She loves them to death. She is a MistClan warrior at heart and soul. Battling her eyelashes at the river below was her reflection. She longed to be loved and adored. She longed to be kissed. She longed to be touched.
When she was a young kit, she would snort in digust at the young warriors who chase each other, yearning for each other, but now she had grown into a young warrior. Now she understood the desire. She wanted someone to love her. Sighing dramatically, she looked at her reflection in dismay, "No one will love me. I am so ugly."

It was another one of those lazy days in MistClan. Sorrowhowl was off hunting with White-eyes and her apprentice, and Duststorm was out on patrol with Rustletail, whilst Clearpaw was training with Pebblefoot. Everyone seemed to be doing something except Mudfur. His mind wondered where Everlast was. The tom hadn't seen her for a little bit, not since she'd left this morning. Curiosity piqued, the young tom held his tail high and padded from camp, tail swishing gently as he swayed from side to side in nonchalance. He loved days like this. The only thing that would make it better was if it was Greenleaf, or if Everlast was beside him.
"Uh?" Mudfur thought aloud. Did he just think that? What weird feeling. He knew Sorrowhowl had loved Lasspaw until she... well, Mudfur was unsure what happened, anyway, but he wasn't one to go around asking questions. He wasn't sure if Waterlily would appreciate the fluffy brown tom asking constant questions. He never usually did ask questions to anyone. He was that kind of tom. Mudfur preferred his own company, though most cats knew him as a lazy little sod who barely did anything for his clan, which was, in truth, a very big lie. He did like to do things for his clan, and he did do them, it was just whenever he'd done something, nobody was ever around to say "Hey! Mudfur, nice work!" or "Way to go, Mudfur!" or even "Thanks Mudfur, I appreciate it."
Not even Puddlestar had said it. Speaking of whom, he had wished for some kind of normality after Demonstar was dealt with and sent to the Place of No Stars. He, along with most of the clan, had expected Zeromoon to take the place as Zerostar, but when she stepped down, cats were happy and relieved to learn White-eyes would become the leader. Now, Mudfur did believe in StarClan but he thought, obviously StarClan knew how much stress the clan was under, so why make Puddleleaf the leader when the clan had wanted a warrior up there. Sure, White-eyes was blind but she had sight before her daughters' birth, and she was a damned good warrior. No one, absolutely no one, had expected Puddleleaf to waltz in proclaiming herself to be leader. Stonefang, the medicine cat at the time, had received no warnings of this. Surely, StarClan would have told White-eyes, Stonefang, or even Waterlily what was to happen? No?
The tom paused from his racing thoughts and scented the air. He could smell Everlast, though the scent was rather stale, like she hadn't been there in a while. He flicked his ears and followed the scent down to the Abandoned Bridge, where he heard her say no one would ever love her because she was ugly. He smirked, and padded over, and sat quietly beside her.
"Nah, you got it all wrong, Everlast," he said after a few moments of silence. "No one can ever love her," the brown tom pointed to her reflection. "'Cause she's a reflection, see. And besides, you're not ugly. I know a tom who really fancies you, you know," he chuckled a little, swishing his tail back and forth a little. "He tells me all the time, did ya know." the tom cat grinned at his reflection, then glanced at Everlast's, then up at her. How he wished he could say how he felt, but he could never think of how to say it. Why was it so hard? Sorrowhowl told Lasspaw he loved her (okay, though, he did think at the time she was dying), and he saw cats exchanging I love yous' all the time.
StarClan made things so complicated sometimes.

Everlast did not expect anyone coming to her side. No one really came to enjoy her company. Not since Demonstar's sudden transfer to the place of no stars. Before Demonstar drama, everyone seem to be normal and in their right state of minds, but not anymore. The small black she-cat never really took a liking for the evil ex-leader. She saw the real side of him because she was once a part of the prophecy StarClan so-called it. StarClan chose her for an important mission.
As always she did not like the idea of being a chosen one. Lynxfang. Oh my StarClan, not that miserable, mousedung FireClan cat. It brought digust on her shoulders just thinking about her. Why would she dare to remember the FireClan warrior? Sighing, she muttered softly to herself, "Lynxfang is far prettier than me." At that, she growled uneasily. In fact, she was jealous of the FireClan warrior's beauty. She hated it when all toms chase her instead of her.
Mudfur's unexpected company shocked her. Actually, awkward silence came as well. She stared at him, an eyebrow raised in amazement. She never thought twice of him. "Oh," she stated when he heard her talking to herself. Color rose to her cheeks. Embarassed, she said, "Never mind me." Shaking her head, she chuckled uneasily, "I am being silly."

"Oh, never mind me." Mudfur's eyes shone at hearing her voice, flicking his tail back and forth as he did. "I am being silly." Mudfur laughed quietly at that, brushing against her shoulder with his own. "Tha's quite alright, Everlast," the tom grinned widely, flicking his tail across her body with a little blush underneath is thick fur. "There're plenty a toms who'd jump at the chance to be with you twen'y-four seven. I know I would." Mudfur coughed at that, licking his paw and nervously running it over his ear. "D-did I say tha' out loud...?" Mudfur looked away nervously, shuffling his paws gently. He was a bit of a plonker, wasn't he? Saying that out loud.
"Hm... Anyhow! Weather's nice, ain't it?" Mudfur said, looking up at the sky with a little smile. "I love greenleaf," Mudfur had to stop himself from saying "Almost as much as I love you, Everlast.". How silly would he sound if he said that? Absolutely absurd, that's how silly he'd sound. His brown eyes turned to look down at Everlast, his gaze travelling over her body. She was a very pretty cat, but a she-cat like her could never love a tom like him... She deserved better than plain old stick-if-the-Mudfur.
"Err... caught any good prey recen'ly?" Mudfur was desperate to keep this conversation going, just to hear Everlast's sweet voice. Wait, what?! What in StarClan's name was he thinking?!

Everlast could only look at Mudfur and listened to his constant blabbering. It would be annoying. It would for her other female friends. They always talked to her that Mudfur was not that cool, like any other hot toms. But she did not care about what they thought about Mudfur. He was always this way with her ever since they were kits. Giggling, she thought it was cute. It was really nice to be here with him, actually. He would love to go out with her? And it was a bit funny when he changed subjects. He obviously...liked her. With a smile, she only followed along, "Yeah, greenleaf is my favorite season. It is beautiful." A pause, she smiled, "Prey is running well. I caught some, but my apprentice, Hollypaw, caught more than I did."
She looked down at her reflection again, trying to wonder if she was that pretty.
