Ok, The settings for this one is a sunny day. As always, the cold leaf-bare has made it's mark and ice still shows on some of the trees while prey becomes scarce to find. You have just been placed as the New Deputy of MoonClan and it is your job to make sure everything is running smoothly within camp. But today, Your leader says that a few warriors have scented an interuder in the forest and by the way it sounds, a rouge. Your leader asks you to take another warrior along and try to find this rouge before more problems begin to arise. The Leader will watch the camp while your gone, as you begin to find out which warrior shall go with your patrol. But who? This is where you begin Fin, Good Luck

High in the sky the sun rose gradually, bringing with it long rays of sunlight, yet cold winds assailed the earth below. Nestled in the dark pine forests, the MoonClan camp was bustling with activity. Kits were rolling around outside of the nursery pretending to attack each other whilst their mothers looked on worriedly, their eyes flashing around the edges of their home. When they decided it was enough, they called their kits in, wrapping their tails around them protectively. Scores of warriors and apprentices anxiously padded around the camp as if their paws had ants in them. Even the elders looked lively. Emerging from the leader's den came Wolftail, the newly appointed deputy of his clan. The warrior felt the gaze of all of his denmates rest on his dark-tabby pelt, but he was not intimidated. Head raised high, he padded confidently through the crowd, a tunnel forming around him. Stopping in the center of the camp, he flicked his tail and began to speak. "It is confirmed that we have scented an intruder in our territory." He meowed assertively, allowing a pause for the worried voices rising from the cats before him. Clearing his throat, he began again: "Our leader has decided to send myself and one other warrior of my choice. Earthstep, are you here?"It was no secret - Earthstep was the one cat he got on with the best, and certainly who he trusted the most. His deep-blue eyes searched the circle of cats, seeking out that familiar blind, light-brown cat. With such powerful senses, she was definitely the only cat for the job.

The brown ears pricked up in surprise to hear Wolftail choose her out of all the cats in the Clan. Pleased that he was able to see how capable she was, even though she was blind, the she-cat stood up, head raised high. "Let's show that mangy cat not to mess with us,"Earthstep growled, claws sinking into the eart enthusiastically. She padded up to Wolftail, nodding to show she was ready.

Wolftail felt a ripple of disappointment run through some of the warriors in the clan, mostly toms but a few she-cats here and there. He knew he had to pick someone he could rely on, someone strong, and someone who had a sense of humour. Padding a few steps forwards to meet her, he touched noses with his new team-member and then turned to face the rest of the clan.
"Duties as usual everyone, but apprentices are to stay with at least one warrior. No queens or elders to leave camp until this has been resolved - we can't risk it, as there may be more." He meowed to the clan, before heading for the exit. Turning to Earthstep, he meowed to her in a brisk pace, "We'll head to where he was last scented, then we'll try and pick up the trail there."
With a giant leap, he cleared a small fallen log, looking over his shoulder as he landed to make sure his comrade had made the jump safely. He knew she could sense these things, but it was hard not to worry every now and then. As they neared the area, Wolftail slowed abruptly, turning his head frantically as he sniffed the air.
"Hey... do you smell that?" He paused to sniff the air. "I can't tell the direction." The deputy meowed, turning on the spot and flicking his tail as he usually did when excited.

"Alright deputy,"Earthstep replied, keeping a teasing tone in her voice. "But get in my way and I'll claw your fur off,"she added briskly, batting her sheathed paws at Wolftail's shoulder rather hard. Her paws tingled as they exited the camp and she felt everything around her with every step she took. An obstacle loomed in front and she effortlessly jumped the log, feeling Wolftail also land a few mouse-lengths away. However, she nearly crashed into Wolftail's rear as he abrutly stopped. "Hey, what's the hold-up?"Earthstep growled, batting the deputy's flicking tail away from her face. Ears pricked as she heard Wolftail's warning, the brown she-cat opened her jaws and tasted the air. Sure enough, the stinky stench of rogue hit her scent glands. "Over there,"she meowed, pointing her tail towards the right. Under her paws, she could feel the ground dip down into a sort of tunnel and there was loud vibrations of pawsteps in the hole.

With his head raised high, Wolftail opened his jaw wide, tasting the air. It was only when Earthstep pointed it out that he knew what direction it was coming from, but he didn't let that put him down. Flicking his tail to her side to say thanks, he silently padded ahead. Following the direction of her tail, any cat who couldn't taste the overwhelming scent of rogue probably didn't have a nose. His pace had reduced to a pawstep every few heartbeats, and by the time he reached a small bush just below his chin, he had stopped completley.
"Okay, here's the plan, rocky. You're gonna wait here - see this bush? It's going to cover you up from whoever is inside so no need to crouch. I'm going to go in and bundle him out - got it?" The tabby tom briefed his brown companion, his eyes focused on hers. For a moment, he felt he could stay where he was forever, just with Earthstep. His blue eyes stayed on hers until his ears flicked towards the tunnel, hearing a sound. Looking over the bush slowly, he meowed a hasty "Wish me good luck!" under his breath, diving over the obstacle.
Jumping the distance between the bush and the hole, Wolftail dived into the dimly-lit den, hissing as he did. "Come out of there! Don't make me come in - you'll regret it." He growled the last part, his tail flicking wildly and his fur bristled out like a hedgehog.

"Do I have to remind you I can't "see"?"Earthstep grumbled in response, though she nodded to show she knew which one he meant. Her eyes stared unseeingly ahead, not knowing there were staring directly inot Wolftail's eyes. But she felt a leap in her heart to feel the tom so close to her, talking to her. Then the stumble of his paws pulled her out of her thoughts, and she snapped back into reality. "Wish me good luck""Good luck kitty,"Earthstep meowed, whacking his shoulder with her tail to show her friendly affection. "Don't trip and fall in, or I'll have to get both of you guys out,"she teased. She quickly bounded behind the bush and waited there, ears pricked and claws unsheathed, ready to pounce with she heard trouble. Silence answered Wolftail's words. For one moment, it seemed as if the hole was abandoned and that Earthstep had been mistaken. However, bright eyes suddenly gleamed in the darkness before a snarl echoed through the dark chamber. Suddenly, a mangy-furred cat lunged out of the darkness and into the dim lighting. His cracked yellow teeth were open wide, ready to take a bite out of Wolftail.

The awkward silence that followed after the tom's threats shocked the warrior. Shouldn't they have come out running by now, with their tails between their legs? Still, he kept hissing and spitting, his eyes focused on the hole. Earthstep wouldn't be wrong - right?
Just before doubts could form in his head, he heard his challenge answered. Ahead, two eyes gleamed at him from the darkness. Ooh, scary, Wolftail thought to himself. Placing his two paws firmly on the ground, the deputy knew that the cat would strike soon - and it did. The shape leapt out of the hole, but Wolftail was quicker. Pushing down on his front paws he bounced backwards avoiding the rogue's 'surprise' attack.
Almost offended by the cat not taking an opportunity to attack him, Wolftail began to retaliate. He dived through the air, landing hard on the cats neck and pushing downwards. In the moment, he hadn't even considered how big he was compared to the other cat, but it was too late now.
"Earthstep! You can come out now." Wolftail meowed through gritted teeth, wrestling to hold the cat down. He felt a bit guilty - the only reason he had told her to hang back was so that she wouldn't be attacked and not see it coming. He knew it was bad that he didn't have faith in her, but it was fear for her safety that took over. Looking at the rogue beneath him, how skinny they were and how matted their fur was, Wolftail leapt off. "Ugh, oh man! That guy reeks." He meowed, trying to lick himself clean where he had touched the cat.

The rouge let out a startled screech as the stronger cat knocked him down. He felt the weight of the tom try to pin him down. Whilst the warrior was licking his fur, the rogue quickly slithered out of Wolftail's grip and raced out of the tunnel. The tom was about to spin around and attack Wolftail from behind when a blow with claws clouted him around the head, sending him sprawling to the ground. "Don't move unless you want the rest of your fur clawed off,"the brown she-cat snarled, raising her claws threateningly at the rogue. She tried not the let the rogue's putrid scent distract her, though it did want to make her puke The rogue slowly go to his paws, back arched and hissing at both cats on either side, though he knew he was trapped. "What do you want?"the tom spat, fur bristling.

Whipping his head around just in time to see the rogue heading for him, Wolftail wouldn't had time to react if Earthstep hadn't stopped him. Sighing in relief, the tom jumped up, flicking his tail from side to side. That was too close.
"Thanks rocky." He meowed to her, looking over to the she-cat proudly. They had their difficulties at first, but he was glad they were friends. Shaking his head, he heard the rogue snarl at them, Wolftail narrowed his eyes and hissed. "What do we want? We want you out of Moonclan territory! You're trespassing here - you're lucky we're letting you go, if it was another clan you would have had your tail handed to you!" Wolftail spat, flexing his claws out into the dirt beneath his paws, "Or do I have to chase you out myself?"
Deep down, he knew that neither himself nor Earthstep actually wanted to wound the cat just to get the point across. The warrior code instructed that killing was wrong, and both were very loyal cats. For a moment, he wondered how another clan would handle it. Would they force him out of the territory by attacking him until he fled? Or take him prisoner and bring him back to the camp for the clan to decide? It was difficult to call. All Wolftail knew was that they could take the fleabag, however he tried to attack them - if he did.

The rogue spat at Wolftail and Earthstep, lashing his tail to and fro as his eyes darted between the two Moonclan warriors with loathing eyes. "I'm not going anywhere. And you can't stop me!"the rogue snarled. Then, without warning, the tom lept forward, claws extended as he aimed them at Wolftail first.

Hissing at the rogue with a threatening gleam to his eyes, Wolftail remained focused on the fleabag. If he tried to attack Earthstep, or run away, then he was ready to spring. At the last second, the tom saw the rogues paws move and instantly reacted. Looking up to see him heading straight for him, Wolftail made a small calculation in his head in the few heartbeat between. He couldn't brace the attack, especially since their claws were unsheathed, so he had to knock him over.
Lowering himself to the floor, the deputy raced forwards and as the shadow of the rogue rolled over the warrior, he dived upwards with his claws sheathed. Bunching his shoulders, the force from the tom would have sent the rogue flying. The differences between clan cats and rogues was very apparent - the latter always skinnier and weaker than the strong, lean cats of the clans, even queens. And it was here they had the advantage.
Wolftail, wasting no time in his attack, bit down hard onto their foreleg and jolted his head sideways. He wasn't trying to cause any grievous harm, he just wanted to show this fleabag who was boss. This guy was really ticking him off! He'd never met such a brave outsider, ready to challenge the clan cats.

Earthstep tensed, sensing the rogue's weight shifting to his haunches as the rogue prepared to leap. The brown she-cat prepared to retaliate, but vibrations on her side of the earth prompted her to wait until Wolftail attacked first. She felt the rogue leave the earth and heard a screech of pain as Wolftail's weight kicked into the ground, using it as a leverage to drive into the rogue above him. Earthstep quickly weaved behind the rogue and lunged forward. Just as the rogue fell back onto the ground, she scored her claws down his flank. The rogue barely registered what had really happened to him. All he knew was that one moment, he was sailing towards the tom cat, the next thing he knew, his enemy was under him and already slamming into him. The sensation of floating in the air lasted for a heartbeat before his whole body fell down. The rogue let out a grunt of pain as he landed on his flank. He was about to flip back onto his paws when teeth sank into his legs. No sooner, claws were ripping through his mangy pelt. "You monsters!"the rogue snarled, full of anger and malice as he threw them off him. He swiped a claw blow at Wolftail before turning on Earthstep and trying to sink his own teeth into her neck.

The rogue had been caught off-guard by his attack, falling straight into his web. Metaphorical web, of course. For a moment, Wolftail thought how cool it would be if he could make webs like a spider. Shaking his head, he resumed battle, releasing his grip on the rogue's leg. Rolling out, he heard the rogue curse us? Monsters!? It baffled the deputy of this cat's mind worked.
The cat, however, managed to catch him off guard too. A second later, he felt a swipe across his face. The rogue had just managed to cut just above his nose on the bridge. Blood began to trickle from it, but he had no time. He was heading for Earthstep!
Throwing himself in the way, he felt the rogues teeth make contact with his shoulder. Gritting his teeth as the pain intensified, Wolftail snarled as he placed his paws firmly on the ground, not being knocked over by the attack. Using all of his strength, he pushed the cat backwards, away from the she-cat.
"You just crossed the line, fleabag." He snarled again, biting hard into the rogue's neck as he stretched his head over.

"Tch, I can take care of myself,"Earthstep growled, shoving Wolftail out of the way. However, inwardly, she was grateful for his help. The rogue's nasty smell nearly distracted her from "seeing" him until it was almost too late. The rogue tasted the blood of the tom and bit harder into the shoulder, ready to break the through the tough skin and into the bone until teeth sank into his own scruff neck. Letting out screech, the rogue quickly twisted away, leaping back, only to crash into the blind she-cat. "You're not getting away that easily,"Earthstep snarled, swatting her claws across the rogue's head.

After the tom retreated hastily towards Earthstep to escape Wolftail, he was glad when she retaliated a little quicker this time. Boy, she was strong. spitting out a clump of fur in his mouth, the deputy saw the brown she-cat react. As he looked on with gritted teeth, he stumbled a step, his shoulder bleeding. That rogue had done a little damage, but Wolftail wouldn't let it stop him. As quick as he could, he ran around the other side of the rogue, where if he looked over he could see Earthstep. They had him surrounded, again.
"When will you learn!" Wolftail snarled aggressivley, the tone unusual for the light-hearted tom. Stepping forwards, he growled at the tom. "Why are you here - stealing prey? Hiding?" Wolftail interrogated further, stepping towards him with every suggestion before he was close enough to smell his breath, though that wasn't hard.

The rogue cringed back, hissing at Wolftail though his bristling fur told the warriors that he was growing fearful. "I can't find shelter here?! Do you stupid Clan cats need every piece of territory?!"the rogue snarled, lashing his tail. His eyes were glazed with anger yet his tone sounded full of loneliness.
