Storm that Brings The Snow The blue-gray tom woke to find that his nose had a stray snowflake resting on it. The tribe cat wiggled his nose to lose the stray flake to no avail. With an ear twitch of annoyance he placed his right paw on the flake and it melted under his dark gray and pink padded paw. He let out a puff of warm air and sat up. Storms that Brings the Snow, Storm for short, flicked his tail and surveyed his current surroundings.
He was in the prey-hunter tribe cats den. He stood and stretched with a yawn. He felt the night's aches leave his body. He looked at the fellow tribe cats around him and found them all with their eyes still closed in their dreams. Storm knew that sleep would not pull on him anytime soon so he decided to leave his fellows to their rest and check out the snow piles.
He stepped out into the camps main area and stepped into the snow. Surprisingly there wasn't as much snow than usual. He was happy about that too. He wanted to go hunting as soon as he could and with less snow on the ground, the more prey available to him.
He purred at the thought of the bird he'd grabbed the previous day. He had gotten really lucky and had gotten a good scolding for his rashness. He couldn't help but purr at the happiness he had now. He had a great she-cat as a mate and his tribe was at peace. What more could a tribe-cat ask for. He looked in the direction of where he knew Sky would be sleeping. He loved how at peace she could be in her sleep. He looked up at the sky and the clouds and sent a thanks to the Tribe of Endless Hunting for giving him Sky.
He cared deeply for the she-cat even before she had lost her blue eye. He could still recall the guilt and regret he felt for being so helpless to defend her, even though she was the most precious one to him. His tail lowered and his mood sobered out. He sat down in the snow and looked up at the sky letting his thoughts wander.

Sky blue on soaring wings yawned rolling over quietly, she opened her dark yellow eye, her other eye covered by a scar. Her other eye had been sky blue and had been torn out by a fox and replaced with a scar. It had been so beautiful to look at, but it was gone now. She had been named after it. Her eye had been the Sky blue, and the soaring wings was the beautiful white pelt, the grey spots being clouds, for which only made her name sound like Sky. She remembered how pain she had been in when she first got it torn out, the blood, her screaming. But she was fine now it didn't bother her anymore at all, in fact she didn't mind it one bit. But she hated when others made fun of her eye.
She got up swiftly and stretched smiling happily, getting into her normal state of mind. She smiled happily, her upbeat way returning as she padded out of the den. She casted her one eye'd glance to Storm that brings the Snow. He was the most amazing tom in the world, he was kind and caring and didn't care she didn't have to eyes, he loved her for who she was. She padded up to him, "Hello Storm!" She meowed happily to her mate.

Storm turned to Sky with a a grin on his face. He flicked her shoulder affectionately with his blue gray colored tail. "Good morning, Sky. I trust your rest was well?" He purred, love shining in his amber eyes. He had been happy when he woke up but with Sky next to him he felt lighter than air. He felt warm even in the snow. From the way she had padded up to him he was sure that she had had a nice nights sleep but it never hurt to ask.
He looked over his mate fondly. Her white fur reminded him of the snow that was around them but it had a hint of warmth that was absent in the white of the snow. Her blue gray fur blended well with his. It made him happy that their fur colors there were similar. Her small nearly invisible orange spots stood out to him simply because it was a part of her. Every orange spot was like the sun peeking through and he was proud of every one of them.
Her scar over her once blue eye made him less regretful than it used to. When he had first seen the wound it had filled him with so much pain. He wished he could have been the one to lose the eye. He would gladly have taken her place. Now, he would still have traded places but that scar was also part of her which made even that perfect. She didn't need the blue eye to remind him of the sky. Having her bright and sunny was enough for him.
He licked her shoulder filled with pride and love for his mate.

Sky smiled softly to Storm, truly the only tom in the world for her, "My rest was pleasant" She meowed softly, "How was yours?" She asked back, she was always curious about Storm, what made him so.. Amazing?! He was just so nice to her, unlike before. His beautiful blue grey pelt that reminded her of Storm clouds? His amber eyes as warm as the sun? Together they were the perfect pair, she the Sky filled with clouds, and He the Storm that brought the Snow. She loved him more than anything. She was glad that he was here for her. She recalled when she had first lost her eye, the pain in his own eyes was... was heart-breaking. But it also reminded her that someone cared for her.
Even though she only had one eye left, she was strong and she would always prove it to be dying breath she would. With Storm by her side there wasn't anything she couldn't do. The thought of little kits crossed her mind once or twice, the very though causing her to blush. She pushed away her thoughts to listen to Storm's words as she waited for his answer.

Storm purred his reply, "It was great. I dreamed of hunting a rabbit with you." He flicked his tail back and forth at the dream. It had seemed so real too. He had felt the wind and he heard the rabbit bolting. He also remembered napping next to Sky under the sun. The only reason he knew it was a dream was because their setting hadn't fit with their home. It had been a green lush forest underneath a blue sky that reminded him of Sky's lost eye. He also remembered that even though it was day, the stars were still above them glinting in the blue sky. He'd felt so at home there with Sky. He found himself wishing such a place existed.
Storm touched his nose to Sky's shoulder. "Even though it was a nice dream, I think I like waking up to find you here in the waking world. No matter how nice the dream, I'd much rather be here by your side." He hadn't meant to sound flirty with that statement. It was just how he felt. A dream version of Sky who had both her eyes couldn't replace the real Sky who he loved dearly. He would fight to protect her and what she cares about. Even the thought of something trying to hurt her had his fur bristling on his back. He wrapped his tail with her to calm himself.
"Your probably hungry, yes?" He meowed softly, almost like a sigh. He didn't want to move from her side but if she was hungry, he would hunt down a hawk for her.

Sky blushed softly, "You dreamed of me?" She asked happily, she herself dreaming of that horrible moment in time when she lost her eye, she wanted to shudder but she also didn't want to make Storm worry, she hated when he got so worried, she didn't mean to make him worry, but it just happens sometimes. She still loved to be herself, loud, upbeat and always willing to argue, but she was deeply in love with Storm and found herself unable to argue against him half the time, but she did very good on her own. "I do like rabbits" She chuckled softly.
"I love being able to see your face everyday when I wake up, just so that I know the dreams I have are not real and that you are always there for me" She said softly. Sky smirked a bit, "Yes I am" She said, "So shall we get hunting then?" She asked, she wasn't about to let him do all the hunting.

Storm fidgeted where he sat. He looked away from Sky in mock embarrassment. "Of course I dreamt of you. You're the most important part of my life." He looked at her with admiration in his warm amber eyes. He purred in amusement. "Yes, rabbits are a classical favorite. You have great taste." He swatted playfully at her side with his tail. He twitched his nose at her and gracefully stood.
He took a step or two forward then looked back at his mate. He still found himself in awe that he had found her and that she had accepted him. Once again he was surprised that he had won over this beautiful she-cat and her affections. He couldn't be more happy than he was at this moment seeing Sky against the backdrop of their home. Storm found himself thinking how dead and hollow his life would be if Sky wasn't in it. He didn't think he would be able to recover from such a blow but he turned away from such dark thoughts. He was going to enjoy every moment with her and he would attack any cat that would dare to try and separate them, no matter the consequences. "Wouldn't have it any other way. Would you like to lead today or shall I?" He couldn't help but speaking in a more than appropriate polite manner. He smirked at Sky and waited for her reply as if the next words were a message from the Tribe of Endless Hunting.

Sky blue on Soaring wings smiled softly, she nuzzled him, "I am glad you dreamt of me" She said softly, she padded and looked back at him, "Of course I have great taste! I would only be slightly less awesome without it" She chuckled to him softly, she was joking of course but her light humor was one of the many great things about her, she wasn't put down so easily. She recalled a time when the fox was attacking, the snarling, her fur being torn out the smell of blood and then her eye... how it had hurt all the pain. She almost died from it, she remembered feeling so lost, inside her mind, so broken, she felt...torn, just like her eye. It had taken her forever to learn to get over it, but even so still to this day she had nightmares of the fox attack. But then she met Storm. Storm changed her world, he made her happy again, he made her feel beautiful again and worth something, that she belonged again. She gained herself through him, she was so happy and grateful to have him. What would she go without her Storm? Would she become lost again? No.. she feared losing Storm. She couldn't. No ever again, go back into that state. She needed to be strong. She smiled at him, "Why I think I will" She purred softly answering his question on who should lead, she padded past him again and brushed her tail under his chin and headed out, "Let's go!" She meowed happily taking off.
