[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,009ce1,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]The river came into view as soon as the grass was out of her face, the sound of the rushing water flowing into her small ears, uniting with the tiny pawsteps coming from a nearby squirrel that was searching for acorns to stuff its belly before it went to hide in its den as the waiting Winter came along. Morningkit wanted to hunt that gray creature down with the knowledge she had recieved from her mother. She wanted to eat it and stuff her own belly with the warmth of its meat.. but she knew she couldn't. She was on an adventure and she couldn't allow herself to be distracted, especially when she was on occupied land. A home to many fierce cats.
Eyes lit with flames of joy, the small dilute calico kit stretched one small paw out of the bush she was so patiently hiding in. Her ears were perked forward in alert and her senses were alive and ready to tell her if any danger was coming her way. She knew better. Her mother had taught her well, and she remembered everything she had been taught.
A light breeze came her way, bring a small chill down her back. Morningkit still had her little-kit fur, but it didn't really prevent her from feeling the cold wrath that promised the white things would be coming soon. Being her age, she didn't quite remember what snow was like, and she anticipated the day it came. Boy, would she have a blast!
"It's okay. You can go, Morningkit," Pooty whispered in her ear, coming back from checking around the area for any bigger cats. Morningkit smiled a big grin at her imaginary friend, and after giving Pooty a nod, she pulled herself out fully from her hiding place, greeting the opening with such eagerness. She practicially wriggled with joy.
"Is this what Mommy was talking about, Poots?" Morningkit asked, looking back at the cat only she could see and hear with a questioning glare. "Is this the Tribe land?" The cat just shrugged, it tbeing her unworded answer, leaving Morningkit to answer for herself. The problem was that she didn't even know the answer. Guess she'll just have to find out.
The five month old rogue kit scampered closer to the river and stretched her neck to see into the clear water without falling in. Little silvery things swam in it, some large and some really small that it was hard for Morningkit to see them. She didn't know what they were called.. she never even seen them once in her short life.
"I don't know where else to go," she added, shaking her shaggy fur to relieve the left-over leaves that have been on her for the past day. She never bothered to clean her pelt and so it stuck on ends and made her look really fluffy and dirty. "You think we can rest here? We have been walking for a long time." Without waiting for an answer from her imaginary friend, Morningkit dipped her head to the liquid and started to lap up a few drinks before sitting down near the bank, in a patch of sunlight to warm her.

A paw step in front and a wriggle of the rump and Fawnkit was off in a flash. His back legs pushed off from the ground and his little body sailed up in the air. He made a swipe at the little butterfly but narrowly missed, his pawtips not even touching the delicate wings. The long-furred brown tabby landed back onto the ground, looking up at the fleeing butterfly with frustration. By now, the little insect had already flown too high for the kit to chase as it disappeared behind a tree. "Aw, mouse-dung,"the little tom muttered, twitching his tail. Guess it was time for him to get back to the nursery. However, when he turned around, the familiar clearing of the camp disappeared. Instead, he was in the heart of the forest. Fawnkit's eyes widened, realizing that he had been so caught up with chasing the butterfly that he hadn't noticed he had strayed far from home. "Uh-oh...I'm lost,"Fawnkit whimpered.

[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,009ce1,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true] With a start, Morningkit's head snapped over to where she heard rustling among the leaves. She hadn't really expected anyone to make an appearance, but that was probably because she had been alone, with her imaginary friend, for many moons. Plus the fact that she never had been taught about the Tribes at all. She wasn't aware that the cats would find her now.
But the sound of the newcomer was reassuring. Kits had a tone of their voice that made them stand out from the adults cats, and it was one she knew very well. A wide smile on her little face, the young kit crouched down and started to stalk her way toward the source of the noise. Maybe the kit, her, and Pooty could all have fun together!
The cold was settling in, though. She wouldn't have much time to play before it forced her to hide in the shelter and warmth of a den.

Was that rustling he just heard? Fawnkit froze, tail twitching nervously as he gazed around. However, his untrained nose and ears could not pinpoint the source of the noise. He grew fearful as the light crunch of paws against floor echoed through his sensitive ears. He whipped around as he heard the snap of the twig, nearly jumping out of his fur as a large blackbird let out a caw and flew up into the air. It was just a bird,he told himself, trying to calm his thumping heart. However, there was still the rustling sound and it instantly snapped him back into alertness. His amber eyes scoured the undergrowth before spying a flash of white. "Wh-Who's there!"he squeaked, trying not to sound scared though his whole body trembled.
