Ravenpaw~My time of Dying~//Smallpaw I need you//
Ravenpaw raced into camp oddly enough ahead of Canyonpaw, she was surprised, but then again he had just tripped on a rock, which slowed him down which was the only reason she was ahead of him. She almost hit a rock on the way to but she learned better then that and jumped over it despite the pain her shoulder she felt good. She looked around carefully no one was really watching, she smiled back towards Canyonpaw hiding her face from the others, "Looks like I won" She said to him carefully not sure if he heard it or not. It pained her to have to be in camp now, because she couldn't spend time with Canyonpaw but she knew he would always be there for her.

She wanted to stay with him always but she knew she never would, not without breaking the rules completely, they would always... always have to just be friends. She didn't know what to do, she wanted to be strong but she couldn't find the strength to live on her own, without someone with her. She lost her life once, her hope, her dreams, her love, her heart, her very soul. Her dreams were always shadowed by nightmares, and her heart became empty and cold, full of ice and hatred. She was broken always broken. But with Canyonpaw she felt whole again, well for the most part, there were still pieces missing, she doubt she would ever find them again. She never did before, she wondered if she ever would. She hoped she would be able to stay happy, but in camp her loneliness was bound to show, but she didn't care, she just couldn't wait till the next time she and Canyonpaw would meet.

Canyonpaw huffed and puffed after Ravenpaw, his feet pounding the ground. His fur was all poofed up and covered in dust from his fall.
When they finally reached the inside of the camp, his tail twitched in amusement as he gave Ravenpaw a huge grin.
"Haha, I guess you did,"he purred, flicking his tail good naturedly, lightly touching her shoulder then wisking it away before anyone could see.
He glanced guiltily around, hoping no one could discern any kind of affection between the two.
"Um, I guess I'll see you tomorrow,"he muttered, going red slightly.
"I'll try to pop in your den before I start training. I'll pretend I have a stomach ache so I can personally see you,"he added, grinning.

Ravenpaw blushed under her dark raven black fur, "I'll see you then" She said flashing him a quick grin and then frowning and looking about with a dark gaze, going back to what she was, it was both easy and hard. She was always frowning before but now she felt more.. happy. It wasn't her fault, it was just how it was, and now she had to get used to it. It felt strange being happy.. but at the same time being sad. She felt a sadness in her heart as she looked towards the medicine cat's den, she would spend the night there, no sense going back to the apprentices den, no matter how happy she was she didn't want to face that kind of... trauma. She missed her brother still, that part of her would never fade away.

((Next day))
The sky was barely light when Canyonpaw awakened, yawning widely as he breathed in the cool morning air. He sighed contently, yesterday still fresh in his mind. At the thought of seeing Ravenpaw, the tan-furred tom jumped to his paws and quickly skirted past the nests of his sleeping Clanmates and pushed his way out of the den. His eyes spied the medicine cat's den and eagerly bounded over, though trying to be silent as possible. Luckily, it seemed the camp was inactive, at least not for a while. Enough time to talk a little with Ravenpaw.

"Psst, Ravenpaw!"he hissed as he neared the den, crouching at the entrance as his yellow eyes scanned the dark den, hoping only she will appear.

Ravenpaw slept most of the night which she was surprised to find her dreams were not entirely filled with Nightmares. She had one moment where Canyonpaw was in her dream and he suddenly disappeared and Ravenpaw was all alone again. But then she woke up and realized it was only a dream. She sighed quietly, she was glad it was a dream and that she would see Canyonpaw again, sooner or later anyways. All of a sudden she heard a voice calling out to her, she smiled and got up padding over, "Yes Canyonpaw" She said looking around to make sure no one else was there.

"Well, I was a little sick but seeing your face made me all better,"Canyonpaw replied with a teasing purr, glad to see her familiar blue eyes shine with welcome. He gave Ravenpaw a quick touch on her cheek with his muzzle in affection, then quickly drew back and scanned his surroundings to make sure no one saw that.
"Sorry,"he mumbled taking a few steps back as he felt himself blush.
"I forgot we weren't supposed to erm..."

Ravenpaw blushed a bit, "Erm um yea" She said quietly, she had also almost forgotten, she missed the touch but it was gone till another day and she had to remember that. She looked at Canyonpaw he had just made her day better just by showing up. But she had to remember they couldn't be in love, "Right" She said quietly, making a fake frown just to appear normal. She looked into his eyes and couldn't help but melt at his beautiful eyes, she hated the fact she was even having troubles being herself.

The tom quickly backed away from Ravenpaw, keeping a respectful distance between them in case someone saw them. "Erm, I guess I need to go out soon,"Canyonpaw mewed, sadness in his tone. "How about I get you something to eat real quick!"he meowed quickly, eager to spend a little more time with Ravenpaw before they had to seperate. Before Ravenpaw could disagree, he bounded to the fresh-kill pile. There wasn't much left but there were a few good pickings left. He found the tiny brown body of a mouse and bent his head to pick it up when he heard pawsteps coming his way.

Ravenpaw chuckled silently, she smiled and nodded, but frowned after he left, he hadn't even given her time to answer yet already gone and headed out of sight for the small she-cat who was still mostly inside the den where the fresh kill pile was out of view. She wondered if he would bring back something bigger, something they would split in half perhaps. It being separated but still somewhat together. She blushed under her fur, it went unseen though the darkness.

Sootpaw padded into camp after talking with her strange mentor Mooseface, she rolled her eyes the quiet she-cat looked around, she was rather hungry. She padded towards the fresh kill pile and seen Canyonpaw, "Hello" She said quietly, her eyes were a gentle blue colour, and her fur was a dark raven black, she looked alot like Ravenpaw, but her eyes were lighter and her pelt was more fluffy and her tail was much larger then Ravenpaw's as well.

For a split second, he thought it was Ravenpaw, but upon another look, he recognized her as Sootpaw. "Hey there! You getting something to eat too?"he asked, stepping back a little to allow Sootpaw to take first pick; he was just a nice cat like that. Then an idea popped into his head and he asked in a friendly tone, "Do you have time today? My mentor wants me to hunt for the elder's but I'm pretty sure I can have company,"he mewed good-naturedly, smiling.

Sootpaw blinked she smiled, "Yea" She said she looked for something to eat, picking a small mouse when she was asked if she would like to go hunting with him, she smiled a bit, "Sure" She said quietly, "My mentor just told me he was to busy to take me out anyways" She said, she was rather sad when he said that, but still it was great that Canyonpaw had offered to take her with him, "I hope your mentor says yes" she said smiling.

Ravenpaw laid down quietly, waiting, she figured that the pile had nothing left in it so he ran off to hunt her something, that would have been sweet, but would have also taken awhile, but she didn't mind to much.

He snatched up a mouse and bounded back to the medicine cat's den, meeting Ravenpaw. "Here you go,"Canyonpaw mewed, dropping the mouse at her feet. "I gotta go hunting with Sootpaw now. We'll try to talk later. I'll try to bring back a vole for you,"the tom meowed, giving her a wink before spinning around and bounding back to Sootpaw. "I'm ready!"the apprentice said enthusiastically.

Sootpaw nodded her head, "Okay" She said softly, she smiled and watched him run off. Ravenpaw smiled slightly when he returned, "Thanks" She said looking at the mouse but before she could say anything else he ran off, "See ya" She said quietly. Then a thought struck her mind, Sootpaw? Sootpaw was a she-cat, not only that she looked exactly like Ravenpaw only more fluffy and her eyes were lighter then her own. She shook her head, "he wouldn't" She said, though she felt a slight pain of jealous surge through her, she tried to push it away. She was just over-reacting that was it.

Sootpaw smiled, "Me too" She said softly, "so can we go now?" She asked.

The smell of the musky forest entered his senses as he stepped out of the bustling camp. In the forest, it was a different kind of sound. Living things were hidden among the forest ground and canopy, distrubing the leaves and bushes with their restless movement. This was going to be a good hunting day. Almost instantly, Canyonpaw spotted a bird pecking a few fox-length away. Canyonpaw let his weight drop low as he slunk over, careful to keep hit movement quiet and stealthy. He used the shadows of the trees to camoflaouge himself as he stalked towards the bird. When he was a close distance away, the tom suddenly kicked off the ground, rushing at the bird. The avian let out a squawk of alarm and tried to take flight but Canyonpaw already lept at it and sank his claws into the flesh of the bird, bringing the prey down. He quickly bit down on the bird, killing it instantly with a sharp bite.

Sootpaw nodded her head and trotted after him. Her little walk was elegant and distant all at once. She was a shy cat most of the time, but not to shy, she was often quietly and merely watching others, what made her truly unique was the way she fought. She could fight like it was nothing, she would become loud and scream and shot! She was strange like that. Taking on a whole different personality that wasn't really her own. But it was truly interesting to watch. She dropped low spotting a young mouse, it was rather plump. "You've lived long enough" She muttered under her breath, she leapt out swiftly killing it before it could even squeak to alert other animals of their there abouts.

The tom turned just in time to see his denmate make an impressive catch with the mouse. "Nice catch!"he called, his voice slightly muffled by the bird. The tom trotted over and dropped the bird. He scanned his surroundings and brightened up when he saw ferns nearby. "We can store our prey here,"the tom mewed, using his paws to brush the ferns to the side and depositing the bird behind it. "C'mon! Let's go find some more!"Canyonpaw meowed enthusiastically, bounding off in search of more prey. ((Close to sundown)) "Well, I think we got enough,"Canyonpaw puffed, dropping a mouse he had caught earlier next to the bird and a shrew. The sun was nearing the horizen and the sky was turning slowly navy blue. Canyonpaw had to admit he had a good time hunting with Sootpaw.

Sootpaw smiled softly and nodded her head, "Thanks you too" She said she was having fun with Canyonpaw. Sootpaw nodded her head and placed her piece of prey inside with his. "Yes" She said dipping her head and chasing after him happily, they hunted for most of the day. Until the sun started to set, Sootpaw could hardly wait for the moon to rise, she loved watching the moon rise. Sootpaw smiled at Canyonpaw, "Yea I guess we did" She said, she herself, having also caught a bird and a small vole. She picked up her prey and prepared to head back to camp. "I hope we can go hunting again" She said to him smiling.

"Maybe we can ask our mentors tomorrow if we can train together. I bet you'll be a worthy opponent,"the tan-furred tom commented, his voice slightly muffled by the prey in his mouth. The tom spotted the entrance and squeeze through, ignoring the dull scrapes that the thorns made on his pelt. Night was slowly gathering as he trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, dropping his catch into the growing stock. "I'm going to get Ravenpaw a meal,"Canyonpaw meowed quickly to Sootpaw, snatching up a vole. "See you later in the den,"he said, giving Sootpaw a friendly gleam of his eyes before trotting to the medicine cat den.

Sootpaw smiled and nodded, "I hope so!" She said, "I do love to fight and I warn you I won't go easy but I know it will be fun" She said looking at him in a friendly manner. Sootpaw followed him carefully though the entrance, "That's nice of you" Sootpaw said, "I don't see to much of Ravenpaw she's always hidden away, it's nice someone's giving her a meal, but watch out she might bite you!" Sootpaw called after him giving him a friendly smile before padding towards the den, "See ya!" She said.

Ravenpaw lay inside the medicine cat's den quietly, she was bored, hardly believing that she used to spend her days moping, though she still felt like it. She flicked her ears thinking she heard pawsteps, she hoped it wasn't Shadowsong, she still hadn't apologized yet and didn't know if she was ready to.

He really did have fun with Sootpaw, but now his heart was eager to see the familiar dark blue eyes that would look at him affectionately. "Ravenpaw!"he called, though his voice was muffled by the prey. He spotted the young she-cat lying in the medicine cat's den with a bored look on her face. He hoped it'll gleam with happiness once they start conversing.

"Good luck" Sootpaw meowed and padded off in search of her own mentor Mooseface. Ravenpaw's ears perked, moments before she had a dull expression on her face, bored and uninterested in most anything, she gazed around seeing no one else was around she smiled happily at Canyonpaw, "Hey Canyonpaw" She said lightly. She seen the mouse, she licked her muzzle, "I do hope you plan to share that" She purred quietly towards him, her eyes seemed to light up as she watched him, the deep pools of icy blue softened only for him.

Glad to have some alone time with her, the tan-furred tom settled down next to her, nudging the mouse towards the black she-cat, indicating that she should take the first bite. "So what did you do today?"the tom asked..

Ravenpaw purred a bit, "Thank you" She said, She took a bite of the mouse gently, it was a small bite, but even still she was a small cat. "I didn't do much" Ravenpaw sighed a bit, "Just another boring day in the life of Ravenpaw" She chuckled a bit, "Avoiding my mentor, laying about, and sorting herbs" She said, "Oh the fun" She added sarcastically. Her icy blue eyes gazed towards her tan-furred tom, well not hers, but her friend the tan-furred tom, well Canyonpaw. "Did you have fun hunting?" She asked.

Canyonpaw had really been looking forward to accompanying the black-furred she-cat to their secret garden and it seemed nighttime was the best time. "Oh yea, I had loads of fun hunting!"the tom purred enthusiastically. He quickly took a bite of the mouse, chewing the flesh thoughtfully. "I went with Sootpaw today. Starclan knows how she became such a good hunter, I had to give it my all just to catch up to her,"Canyonpaw commented, purring with laughter.

Ravenpaw smiled softly and nodded her head, "Sounds like fun" She whispered to him, she liked being Ravenmoon a deputy, not some silly Medicine cat, but she did like the fact she was close to flowers all the time, but she hated being torn from Canyonpaw. It made her curious to wonder, what if one day he did truly become Canyonstar, what would become of her? She pushed away her thoughts and listened to him talk of his time with Sootpaw, a wave of jealousy fell over for which she hid rather well as she normally did, she wore a mask to hide her emotions. She wished she could be able to hunt like that with Canyonpaw, but it was never meant to be. "Really?" She asked hesitantly, "You didn't let her win did you?" She teased lightly towards him.

I have to get up early tomorrow morning to train with Sootpaw,"he added hastily, remembering his promise to practice fight with Sootpaw. "Haha, it wasn't really a competition after a while. We just caught a bunch of prey together,"the tan-furred tom replied with a purr. He took another bite of the mouse before nudging the rest over to Ravenpaw. "Here, you should eat more. You need your strength to become my deputy,"Canyonpaw meowed.

"Oh I see" Ravenpaw meowed, her voice hesitant not sure if she really wanted to answer, she felt jealous though she didn't let it show. She hated showing her emotions have the time. It made her wonder if this was how she was suppose to react, Still she didn't show it. She wished she could go with them, but she was a medicine cat apprentice... more like a waste of space in her own mind, again something she wouldn't say. She ate the mouse up swiftly, then she nodded her head, "Let's go then oh mighty leader" She chuckled to him and got up.

Only then did he realize that he had been a bit too loud and slowly crouched down, flattening his ears in embarrssment as he glanced around, hoping no one else besides Ravenpaw heard. "Erm...I guess I should be more quiet,"he muttered. "Should we go now? Shadowsong won't notice your disappearance?"he whispered.

Ravenpaw chuckled slightly, "yes you should be quiet" She said, looking around to make sure no one was listening, "Yes we can go now, Shadowsong won't even notice I am gone" She said, "She never does, I doubt she'd ever bother to look" Ravenpaw snorted a bit. It was true, she and her mentor didn't get off on the right paw to much. She hardly seen her mentor, who knows where she is, off moping somewhere depressed. Ravenpaw rolled her eyes a bit, Ravenpaw had a reason to mope, she didn't think her mentor did, it was probably because her Mentor retired and left her with Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw's eyes narrowed at the thought of it.

The tan-furred tom recognized how much she and her mentor didn't exactly get along and it kind of bothered him. He, himself, liked his mentor and seeing an apprentice like Ravenpaw show disappointment towards her mentor really struck Canyonpaw as strange. He wanted to fix this small rift between medicine cat and medicine cat apprentice, but he figured mentioning it now to Ravenpaw would make her irritated. Perhaps another time. "C'mon, let's hurry before anyone else finds out,"the tom hissed, quickly spinning around and trotting towards the clearing, eyes alert for any signs of movement.
