(I'll just pretend that the character I'm about to quickly use is actually made... I'll make him soon, I promise! >.> He's next on my list)
Oh jeeze... sorry about the length. I got a little carried away. I was excited to rp with Cloverleaf for the first time >.> I got caught up in the story.
The light wind, not a common occurrence, jostled the trees surrounding the dormant camp. The sun was high in the air and many cats of every shape and size were taking advantage of the shaded areas that the many tall trees provided. There was one small cat though who was taking advantage of this time not to cool down, but to practice with no interruptions instead.
Cloverleaf grunted in shock as she felt the breath leave her, winding her for a few moments. She was able recovered quickly but felt the impact on her ribs for long after. Squinting to keep the sun out of her eyes, Cloverleaf walked across the branch with well placed paw steps. She was not using the shade of the tree, but the tree it self. Cloverleaf was up high in the branches, being as careful as she always was, jumping from place to place. Lately her jumping had gotten sloppy. When she had been an apprentice she was able to surprise the entire clan with her skills at catching birds that were perching in the trees. This skill had been falling at an alarming rate lately due to her increased number of patrols instead of hunts.
Cloverleaf shook her haunches again and looked below her to a perfectly placed branch, and an even more perfectly placed bird. The bird, unaware of its stalker, was preening its feathers and settling down for a rest. The trees were the only place that birds felt at home, and that was their mistake.
Cloverleaf's blue eyes widened as she heard a smaller branch snap beneath her paws. The bird looked like it was about to take off. Cloverleaf bit back a curse and jumped, preparing her body of the jolt that impact gave. She landed right behind the bird, a perfect leap. Quickly she bit the bird and killed it quickly but not before it let out a warning call. Cursing under her breath, Cloverleaf's eyes watched as birds all around her flew into the sky. Far, far from her reach.
"Cloverleaf!" She looked down sharply to see the golden eyes of her brother looking up at her. His pelt was sleek and clean, looking as if he had just groomed him self. "Get down here!" He called up again. "I need to ask you to do something." Cloverleaf groaned but complied. If she was ever going to listen to just one person, it would be her brother Birchflame.
Cloverleaf sprang from branch to branch with ease, quickly making her way down from the twisted tree. It was one of her favorites to climb, plenty of knots and twisted roots to grab hold of, plenty of branches that were not too spacious from each other. She could almost make it to the very top of this one.
Cloverleaf landed with quiet paws in front of her brother. "What is it?" She asked, glaring at his playful eyes for interrupting her training.
"I was just talking to Wolftail," MoonClan's current deputy, "He says that all of the apprentices are off training." Cloverleaf couldn't figure out were this was going. She wasn't ready, or willing, to have an apprentice yet so Wolftail wouldn't be asking her to watch the training.
Cloverleaf turned her attention back to her brother and noticed that he was looking slightly nervous now. "Well... some of the elders were complaining that their bedding was getting damp, StarClan knows how in this heat, and they were wanting some new moss. They want someone to clean out the den too..." Birchflame trailed off, catching Cloverleaf's look. "Get Russetcloud to do it, she loves helping the elders." She snapped.
Birchflame looked slightly annoyed at the mention of passing on the task to their sister. "Wolftail said that you were to do it. Russetcloud, Wolftail and I were just leaving for a patrol." His voice turned firm and final all of the sudden. "All the apprentices and younger warriors are busy" He repeated before turning towards their sister and the deputy. "I suggest you bring that bird you just caught to them" He called over his shoulder. "They'd appreciate that." Cloverleaf flinched, he was treating her like an apprentice.
Cloverleaf grumbled and muttered a few things about her brother before stalking off towards the elder's shade. Cloverleaf hoped that this wouldn't take too long. She desperately wanted to get back to training. She walked towards Appleblossom, the old retired medicine cat, a cat who had some of the highest respect in the clan. She placed the bird in front of the elder and nodded her hello. "Do you need any of your bedding changed?" She asked, looking towards the other elders and hoping they were in a good mood. "Or any ticks taken care of?"
