[bg=c7b7a4][atrb=width,396,true][atrb=border,0,true]"FireClan." a pause. Sear nodded, though he wouldn't have known the name otherwise.
"What was her name?" Mango looked him over. he presumed she was looking for damage.
"Her name is Leafmask. Rather nice she-cat, actually. I expected claws and fangs, but..." he only smiled, thinking back on the lovely ginger she-cat. her pelt had nearly matched her's, had it not?
but he only shook his head. "Do you know her, by chance? I'm sure the rest of FireClan isn't so nice, so if I do decide to go back there, it won't be without caution..."

She caught his smile. It was something new. Something else entirely.
Leafmask.
Other than a smile, she caught a glimpse in his eyes. It was...she looked away from the unforgettable sight. It was love interest. Why would she act like this? This was dumb...foolish, even.
"It is really up to you. If I were you, I would be careful." Every word she spoke rang true. It was true she met really nice warrior cats, but some of them were not really friendly.

[bg=c7b7a4][atrb=width,396,true][atrb=border,0,true]Sear frowned. suddenly, Mango didn't sound like herself -- or how she had sounded since he'd known her. but why?
he shuffled his forepaws, a bit put off as she told him somewhat aloofly, "It is really up to you. If I were you, I would be careful." her brown eyes looked dark. darker than usual, somehow.
"Well, I'm always careful," he told her, a bit uncomfortable. "Besides, who says this Leafmask even wants a ragged little loner on her territory? Or any Clan cat, for that matter. I just may not bother. Even the loner meadows are safer than some of those Clan cats." he shrugged. "One versus twenty well-trained cats... not so great."
he still felt as though he'd said something wrong, but he couldn't find what it was. inexperience had so many faults, as it turned out.

As Mango listened intently, she nodded in agreement. "Yes, that is true." Pondering endlessly, she thought about meeting clan cats again. "It would be nice to see them again. Will you come with me to meet DawnClan cats?"
She wondered what his reply would be. Only she hoped he did not find that odd...or whatever it was.

he brightened at her words, despite his speech about Clan cats and danger. Mango wanted him to accompany her? he tilted his head, then asked, "Why are you going to meet them?"
it seemed odd, but then he remembered her saying something about DawnClan. maybe. without further hesitation, he nodded, although his judgment should have been better.
back-up was always a good idea when you were going to strange territory, right? he'd want it. Sear shook his head, then amended, "Of course I'll go with you. I'm up for a little adventure." he flashed his amber eyes at her, meeting her warm, velvet brown ones.

At Sear's question, Mango explained softly, "Because I saved their lives once before and it would be nice to see them again. They would be friendly and happy to see us." Not realizing, she was purring happily, thinking of the black furred she-cat in her mind's eye. Haggarstar was a wonderful leader. Though, her lips turned into a simple frown at the ugly memory of her brother, Rovek, clawing the pretty picture. He almost ruined the whole clan, but Mango stepped in and broke his jaw in order to save the day.
Sighing, she was still shocked at how well she fought. Aggressive and unexpected, she was not swift or cunning in a fight, but she had very good common sense what to do in a fight and had enormous strength inside her slender, silky furred body. Chocolate eyes wavered with compassion and affection for the clan itself. Sometimes, she wished to join DawnClan, but the rogues needed her. Though, they used her and rolled her in the mud like mousedung. Now, she did not know what to do now with her life. A loner, or what? What next? Questions fused inside her mind like a swarm of bees, seething and lurking.

I saved their lives once.
Sear breathed softly. "You did?" he asked, somewhat awed. she was a hero to the Clan? he wanted to ask how, but somehow he refrained. it would be rude, he realized, and it would seem as though he did not believe her.
she seemed to pause and think for a moment, and he could see the worries flying behind her eyes. or were they truly worries? he lowered his head slightly.
"What are you thinking about?" he meowed, flicking the tip of his ginger tail. he padded a bit closer, but still kept his distance. not many loners or rogues liked their personal space invaded. but Mango looked conflicted. he was sure he would be of no use, but he wanted to let her know his ears and heart were open.

Mango nodded slightly, as if she was not proud of the fact she saved the clan once. It was the greatest achievement any cat would had done. This was something she kept to herself. Why? Because it seemed not proper of her to share this news with anyone. It was kind of personal. Certainly, she did not want anyone to think of her as a snobby she-cat, bragging about her good deeds.
After all, it was true. She saved DawnClan once.
The loner came closer to her. Usually, she would keep distance, but this time, she let him in, crossing her personal space by coming closer to him. A few tail lengths away, she could see the faint fleck in Sear's yellow eyes. This was powerful, being this terribly close. Vulnerable, like she let him see the whole beauty of her. "I admire those warrior cats. How they protect and would give up their lives. I would do the same..."

"I admire those warrior cats. How they protect and would give up their lives. I would do the same..."
he pondered this. apparently, those warriors were all heroes in their own right. would they really die for their brothers? or was it an altruistic myth better left unsaid?
he lowered his head. "Have you ever thought of joining one of the Clans?" he said earnestly. "I mean, you'd get your chance, then."

Mango was looking at the beautiful sky, but when she heard his question, her ears twitched with ancipation. Her paws were itching to join DawnClan. It had always been her dream to become a...um, warrior. She tried with difficulty to remember the clan language and their labels of every individual.
She was not going to lie to this loner. This time, she told him the truth with her eyes shining with admiration, "I would love to."

he watched Mango's head turn from the sky, back to him, and he could tell she was speaking the truth when she said plainly, "I would love to."
Mango didn't seem like the type who'd covet a warrior's life. but Sear knew that many loners didn't like not having much to live for but survival. he knew he didn't.
he pondered her words a moment, then said, "I think they'd love to have a cat like you fighting for them." he twitched one orange ear softly. "And it'd be a better life than this, I'm sure."
he wasn't speaking smoke dreams when he said this. he meant it. to run with a Clan, to share blood with the stars in the sky, it would be something special. but he was positive he wasn't cut out for it.
Mango, though... if that's what she wanted, Sear thought she should have it.

Chocolate eyes were shining with admiration a few minutes before, but now they grew warmer, more wistful this time. "But I love my life as it is now," she told him, hopes and dreams in her head were just...dreams. They were not real and never would be. She heard the tone in the young loner's voice. Something upset this tom and she was not sure. Maybe he was not.
Certainly, Sear was right. DawnClan would be fond of her joining them as a warrior. They needed more cats like her, a cat of strength and loyalty. However, her heart did not feel any excitement. Only her paws felt tingled to join the clan. This was not what her heart desired.
Fighting for her surivial, fighting dirty with other cats with no purpose in lives, were what made her heart jump in action. She knew what to do now.
She knew.
She was a rogue. And always will be.
"Know what?" She looked directly in Sear's eyes and told him frankly, "I will remain who I am. That's who I am." Again, she looked toward the sky, and sneaked in her rare smile, the one of many pearls in lifetimes.
