The moon was high in the sky, a bright and beautiful crescent dimly lighting the emerald earth below them all. The night was a starless one, the moon the only light. There was a cool wind in the twilight, faint but there. It spread scents, however most where covered by the strong smell of loners alike. Despite the time, many loners would be out at this time. However, so was a particular cat, with no particular purpose.
As the brown and gray medicine cat strode through the meadow, she felt nothing but pure peace. However, this peace seemed to be masking a unknowing sense of dread. Yet the female knew how to hide this away in her emotions, yet she could not chase it off it completely. As delicate paws kissed the earthen surface, bright green eyes blinked.
The dread was suddenly replace by a new feeling: She was not alone. Though her footsteps never stopped, they become only a little cautious, for friend or foe: She did not know.

Like the brown and gray medicine cat with green eyes, this she-cat had no particular purpose to be here. Absolutely no reason to be here, at this time of the night. The silver moon was high in the sky, her eyes dripping with purple ink. A star danced in her eyes, bringing her to life while her solid statue remained unmoving. She looked like a shadow in the darkness. An unique talent she never lost, Appleblossom quietly looked up and found green eyes looking around for someone. She knew who. Her. She waited patiently.
Patiently for her to find her.

Sagecloud knew now she had nothing to be frightened, nor bothered by, really. The presence she felt was not one of evil, but one of familiarity. Sagecloud looked around her, her paws carrying her graceful body with no real speed, but patience. Soon, she found herself in the shadows, and the scent of another medic near. Her eyes truly opened now, and adjusted to the dark. She saw a faded outline and knew whom it was, for she had a skill of blending.
Appleblossom, it is a pleasure to see you. She smiled, and sat down a few feet from her. Again, the feeling of dread came to Sagecloud. Something Sagecloud did not exactly like, but she knew that it was not from Appleblossom, but somehow, had something to do with her. But Sagecloud buried this feeling immediately, and tried to keep it that way.[/blockquote]

Hearing her name, Appleblossom bowed her head slightly, as a silent respect for the medicine cat. It was a polite gesture for medicine cats to show respect. Not a big fan of small talk, she only spoke the young medicine cat's name, "Sagecloud."
The young cat seemed anxious. Then Appleblossom felt it. It was...dread. Dread? Why? She waited patiently, to see what the cat had to share.

The only reply Sagecloud received was her name and a bow of the head, showing respect common among medicine cats. Sagecloud dipped her head in reply as well, waiting for any other reply. When one did not come, Sagecloud watched with wary eyes. Something in the old she-cats eyes told Sagecloud something. Before she could stop herself, her mouth opened and her voice was barely audible. You feel it, too. Her eyes immediately shot down, and looked at the ground. Sagecloud knew what she said was true, however. It was not a question.

Appleblossom knew this medicine cat was not to underestimated. Sagecloud surely knew what was going on around her. She was not stupid, the old cat could see that. Only with a brief nod, she asked politely, "What's it?"

Sagecloud lifted her eyes up, a bright green showing much wisdom for her younger age. That... Feeling. She looked desperately into Appleblossom's eyes, trying to convince her that this was real. This couldn't go unnoticed. The dread... It was consuming. Selfish, but so, utterly real. Medicine cats could not take such feelings so lightly, for it is not safe, let alone smart. I don't know that I'm the only one feeling it... but there's dread. A storm of it.

Appleblossom could only hold the young medicine cat's stare. As on the cue, the old cat felt it. She nodded slowly, "I do feel it. StarClan is trying to tell us something." She sighed softly, glancing toward the moon. Purple eyes twinkled with wicked unease.
She knew there would be an omen, but she didn't dare to utter.

The long haired cat could not meet the other med cats eyes, for they both felt the dread, they had no need to share it with their sight. Following Appleblossom's eyes, she stared at the moon. Even the lunar goddess seemed to glow with some kind of sorrow, some kind of hidden secrets.
All we can do is wait, is there anymore to do? Sagecloud whispered, her eyes on the planet lighting up the shadowed earth. Slowly, her gaze went to the other med cats, and her eyes blinked once. Appleblossom, I think we should go to the MoonStone soon, friend. She spoke, her words strong but with the faint shake of fear.

All she could do was dipping her head in respect toward the younger medicine cat. "I suppose so," she replied. Her eyes were still on the moon. Purple orbs were looted by the hands of darkness, troubled. She had the ominous feeling of an omen. It was coming!
Appleblossom.
She spun away from the younger medicine cat as she saw stars dancing its way around a dark-furred she-cat. Gray spots were snowed all over her soft white pelt. Appleblossom knew it was one of her MoonClan ancestors. "Grayfawn," she whispered the ancestor's name.
Grayfawn's blue eyes were troubled too. She whispered urgently, "Clans are in trouble. Sickness is coming."
Appleblossom uttered a word...
"Rabies."
The StarClan cat was gone.
The only thing left was the darkness. And silence.

Time seemed a large factor, for though everyone in the world possessed it, they were running out. It was becoming clear; Danger was going to threaten the clans soon. Far too soon. Time was something many took for advantage, however the med cats knew the real worth of time, and knew better then to ignore such feelings.
Sagecloud closed her eyes, and saw two cats. One a stranger, but she heard Appleblossom address it as Grayfawn. The other was her mother, whom's eyes were just as her own. Glowing bright green with passion, yet the same feeling that seemed to never escape the land they were in, the mental stage. Infected. Dead, lost, hopeless. Her mother gasped. Sagecloud leaned forward, as though she could help her. Not hopeless. Cure!
And they were gone. When Appleblossom spoke, Sagecloud shivered with fear. This isn't good, no. We don't have a cure for it! We don't know the cure! Sagecloud gasped helplessly, anticipation shaking her body.

Appleblossom was certain she knew about the cure. There was a cure, but her ancient mind sought too far and found nothing. A frown played its way on her muzzle. The vision was real. Very real. It was only a vision, yes, but it could all come true, if no one prevented it. Appleblossom knew she had to go back home and warn her clan. No, no, what should she do? She looked at Sagecloud, not sure what to say. "There is a cure, but I don't know what it is."
It was extremely difficult to remain calm, though she wanted very much to panic.

Sagecloud calmed herself quickly, shaking her head with despair. Her eyes were full of a fear for not only her clan, her friends, or herself, but it was fear for the forest itself. What destruction would this bring? What dangers would the disease force onto nature itself...
Appleblossom spoke, and her head snapped up, her eyes holding a little hope of her reply. Then... There is hope. But... Appleblossom, we must find this cure. Maybe, together we can. But, where do we start? Rabies hasn't broken out in a very long time, we don't know any herbs to help treat it... Sagecloud shook her head again, and closed her eyes, going into a deep thought.

I don't know... The disturbed thought came upon the ancient cat's mind. Bring any disease, wound, or injury to Appleblossom and she knew which cure to use. She could name all cures if she have to depend her life on it. If it is a life-or-death game, she would name all cures to survive. However, this disease...she could not. This feared her greatly.
"We could," Appleblossom told the young cat, but still, she did not know if they could find the cure together. It would take more than that.
