There was so much wrong with this world, it was disgusting. So much needed to change, but no one else seemed to notice. They were all just fine with the separation, the lack of control, of order. The judgmental clans, their stupid laws. Why could no one else see the wrong in the world? No just. Just selfish leaders, inconsiderate, unworthy beings!
The world was slowly rotting, though many couldn't see it. Twolegs polluting, the cats so carelessly acting. Change was needed, change was a must. It was needed. Beastpaw could try! She was only an apprentice, but her potential was so much higher! Beastpaw was changing, very much so. From the old, love-sick female she was to this new, morbid mastermind. Who was going to give her life for change. It was obvious the world needed the change, it would be so much better for everyone, and those whom are blind to that do not deserve the life they have been given.
The canyons were as they always were: Quiet, and shaded. The moon was just beginning to dimly light the rocky lands, with the help of thousands of stars. There was a cool, chilly breeze that whispered about the place, gossiping of what Beastpaw had no idea, to lost in her own thoughts. She seemed to be drowning in them, oblivious to all else. The wind tried to warn her of the danger, but she was to lost. There was no noise, no sight, no sound nor scent to this female.
Beastpaw was devoured, selfishly consumed at with the raging thoughts of order and such impossible wants. Blind, deaf, she had no idea of the danger slowly stalking her.
Beastpaw opened her mouth in a short breath, and suddenly found her senses on fire. She quickly turned, to see a beagle sprinting right for the cat, foaming at the mouth. It's determination was fierce, and the lust in its eyes for a meal was frightening. Beastpaw quickly jumped to turn the other way and run, but she found herself to late for an escape. There were fangs digging deep into her shoulder, infecting her with this uncontrollable disease. Oommphhh! Was the only noise the poor she-cat could utter. Her lungs felt like they were being torched with the white hot intensity of millions of suns, struggling for air. There was no room in her body for that however: It was full of fear and pain from tail to whiskers.
Struggling against the sick animal, damaged, Beastpaw used all her might to twist from the gruesome hold. Yet the grasp was not broken! It took Beastpaw one more try before she twisted free from the grip. Her shoulder mauled, she felt every screaming step as she ran toward a cliff, and used whatever might she had left to kick off the ground and onto the cliff side, feet above the dog. Hissing and panting, Beastpaw held for her life. Minutes of light-headed consciousness, the dog finally got bored, and stumbled away.
Beastpaw, mangled and mauled, felt her body fall to the ground with a loud thud. Her shoulder burned, as warm blood dripped helplessly. Slowly, Beastpaw felt a tiredness overcome her. However, she had to stay awake. She had not become prey, no. Not at all. She was no meal.
But she became a carrier. A host. That realization made her gasp as her lungs begged for air. Taking a deep breath, closing her eyes, she yowled as loud as her damaged lungs would allow.
HELP!

((First post in like...a million years)) The air shimmered with the green-leaf heat, making the forest seem lazy and hot. A small breeze played across the trees' uppermost branches. Unfortunately the breeze didn't bother coming down to ground level. A sleek black and white tom picked his way through the familiar territory of FireClan. A patrol followed after him, as they did the usual rounds of checking the borders. It seemed like any normal day and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Prey was plentiful, and practically leaped into their paws. Though the heat was bothersome it was better than the deadly grasp of leaf-bare. He flicked an ear as a fly buzzed past him. "Maybe we'll go hunting on the way back." he mused. "Save another patrol the trouble." Suddenly, Sunflash froze mid-step, as did the patrol did behind him. They scanned their perimeters instinctively. The forest was thrust into silence as every bird became silent. The trees seemed to be holding their breath and the deputy felt dread creep up his spine. Then, came the scream.

[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,2c2c2c,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Gloomheart volunteered to be part of the border patrol today, seeing as he hadn't been leaving camp much lately. He spent much of his time with Dreamwyvern and the kits in the nursery and was always worried about leaving them alone. It was silly to worry about them so much, seeing as they were in the safety of the nursery in Fireclan's camp, but Gloomheart tended to think of all the worst things that could happen. It was also odd for him to worry about them because they weren't even his kits. Alas, his love for Dreamwyvern overshadowed that fact.
Gloomheart felt terrible that he had spent such little time with his apprentice recently, and thought this would be a good chance to take her out. After he agreed to go on the patrol, he searched over the camp looking for Beastpaw, but couldn't find her. He was a bit irritated, but also worried about where she was. Either way, if she was out and about in the territory he would probably come across her. He couldn't expect her to sit around in camp waiting for him all the time anyway.
The gray tom followed behind Sunflash on the patrol. The air in the forest was hot, but it didn't bother him much since his fur was short and had thinned out some since winter. The sun made him comfortably warm, and thus his eyes heavy. He nodded as the deputy suggested they hunt later on in the patrol, and then a yawn escaped his jaws. Midway through his yawning, a cry broke out in the forest. Gloomheart's jaw slammed shut and he was now wide awake.
Something about the scream was familar. He moved towards where the sound came from and scented the air. "Beastpaw!" He yelled, realizing the cat in trouble was his apprentice. He took off in a panic, following her scent into the forest. He knew without a doubt that it was her scent, but there was another scent mingled with it. A foul scent.
He finally found her by some cliffs, her body mangled. It looked as if another animal had attacked her, and it definitely wasn't a cat. The odd scent was strong, and Gloomheart hesitated to get closer to his apprentice.

[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,000000,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Solacepaw was always looking for chances to show off, and also to get out of camp and thus away from her depressive brother. Sunflash looking for cats to go on border patrol was the perfect opportunity. She begged to go with them, even though her mentor wasn't around. She convinced the deputy to take her along.
The young she-cat padded beside Gloomheart, a tom she had never once spoken too. He tended to keep to himself, or rather with his mate and kits. From what Solacepaw had heard and seen of him, he was kinda like Darkpaw but without the foul language. Negative. Depressing. Antisocial. Solacepaw was dying to talk, but she decided silence was better than speaking to a tom that was anything like her brother.
Solacepaw nearly leaped off the ground when a cat's scream tore through the forest. Before she could even understand what had happened, Gloomheart declared it was Beastpaw and took off. Not wanting to miss out on any action, Solacepaw bounded after him. She struggled to keep up, but eventually he found Beastpaw. He stopped abruptly only a few tail-lengths away, much to Solacepaw's confusion. She padded right on past him and to Beastpaw's side, and began licking at the wound on her shoulder. If I help Beastpaw, everyone will call me a hero! She thought.

Saphira ears nearly flattened as a cat's scream broke the silence of the forest. The light gray she-cat didn't have time to react, as Gloomheart and Solacepaw darted off toward it's blood hurling cry. [glow=blue,2,300]~Before the cry~[/glow] Saphira was finding herself waking up to the busy noises of FireClan, apprentices chatting around and young warriors bragging to one another. She was still curled in a tight ball, her pool blue eyes were half open with her silver-tipped tail laying gently on her nose. It was just moons ago that she was accepted into the clan, her name still intact and her view as a kittypet was slowly changing. It felt that it would be quite a while before her tag of "Kittypet" would findlly change into the word "Warrior". But as she uncurled herself with a yarn, she knew that it would onlt take time. Sitting up, her jaws opened up in another yarn with her teeth shining a bit in the sunlight and closed them slowly with a blick of her eyes. Another day to train and chase after prey, which was more of daily chore then a simple job. Her silver-tipped ears flicked a bit, tuning in to the latest news that all the cats were talking about. Some talked about the simply chores of the day, like hunting prey or cleaning the elder's den. They complained about that, although she didn't know why. She though it was good to help them out, since she herself made visits just to do so. I guess it's just a warrior's way of being strong. Saphira thought, shruging her shoulders a bit and continued to listen to the chatter of others. Her tail swayed from side to side, her eyes only partly closed and her ears twitched ever so slighty to curtain words. A few other warriors were talking about a patorl, which rose intrest in her. She had yet to go on a real patrol and even though she never had a chance, she might as well start now. Getting up with a sigh, her tail swung a bit as she began moving out of the Apprentice's den. The den was quite small really, but it didn't bother her much as she was slim. As she exited the den, she had to close her eyes as the sun seemed to glare a bit through the trees above. It didn't take long for her to get use to it again, blinking her eyes before looking around the camp. Already, Warriors and apprentices were already moving about. Something she was still not quite use to yet, but still was glad to be around. This was short-lived however, spotting a patrol leaving camp and shook her pelt a bit. "Wait Up!" Saphira called out, quickly moving after the patrol with her tail flying behind her. If only she knew what was to come.... [glow=Blue,2,300]~As the Cry is heard~[/glow] Already, on her first real patrol that a scream could be heard within the forest. She found herself frozen in fear, her paws refusing to move and her pool blue eyes turned ice cold. Something was truly wrong with that cry, nearly losing herself that it was Beastpaw who was in trouble. But this feeling didn't last as long, her eyes melted until only flames of blue remained and glanced at the deputy before her. This was no longer a simply Patrol. It was a Rescue mission. Nodding at Sunflash, she bolted foward after the two Fireclan cats with her silver tipped ears nearly flattened to her skull. Whatever it was, that apprentice needed them and even the smell of blood showed proof. She only hoped it wasn't bad. Or Worse.....

Time seemed to go by slowly, agony and misery torturing every painful second. Beastpaw began to shake, violently from the shock and realization she was in very much trouble. It was unavoidable, everything that seemed to consume the sick, infected female. It never stopped, it was never ending, and beyond all else, it would never change. It would never go away, for the pain and guilt began to mix, making a toxin within Beastpaw's blood. It poisoned every cell coursing her veins, intoxicating even her mind.
With every passing second, the pain seemed to worsen, seemed to attack another organism within her body. All she could do was lay down, for she felt much to weak to even speak another word. All she could utter were small gasps for breath. Her heart was slowing and speeding, never ending, and slowly eating the female inside out.
Soon, a FireClan Patrol was scented, and Beastpaw felt some relief, however it still seemed as though she were damned to fate. Death, would that be her salvation of this agony? But. . . Where would she go after death? Certainly she could not be worthy of StarClan... She through her mind off of it all, help was here. She'd be okay...
Beastpaw saw nothing at the moment; Then, she felt pain. Someone was trying to lick her wounds clean, and it was painful, very, very painful. Beastpaw flailed, and her claws raked down a pelt, warm blood staining her claws. Don't touch me! Beastpaw hisses blindly, her voice even tainted.
Suddenly, she saw her mentor. Gloomheart. And there was another cat, whom she did not know. Beastpaw could scent Sunflash, the FireClan deputy. However, Beastpaw could hardly stand, let alone do anything but watch the cats around her. Beastpaw began to cough, violently. She regretted hurting the female whom tried to help her, but nothing could be done. She didn't want to be touched, for even if it were StarClan lifting her soul with wings of an angel from her body, it would hurt. It would be agonizing.

Sunflash didn't know what to expect, exactly, when he and the rest of the patrol dashed toward the scream. It was the kind of scream that only a wounded cat could manage, and it made his black and white fur stand on end. What was worse was that the cry sounded familiar, very familiar..
He glanced at Saphira. The poor she-cat, this was her first patrol and already she was going to encounter a part of Clan life that no one talked about, what no one liked to really think about. Sunflash's paws pounded beneath him as he reached the body last, after his patrol. The smell of blood was overpowering and a pool of red surrounded the poor cat who was lying in the middle of it. It only took a moment to recognize her. Torn fur and skin marred the features but under the rust-and-blood smell he could tell the identity: Beastpaw.
When was the last time he had seen her? He couldn't remember. He had just figured she was one of those cats who liked to mind their own business. What in StarClan's name was she doing out here? "Gloomheart..." he meowed to her mentor, wanting a reason, any reason, for why this she-cat had been here alone.
Shock settled in before blinked and let it pass. He was deputy. He had to take control of this. "An animal did this," He said, sniffing the air. "Dog. It seems to be long gone, however. We'll take care of Beastpaw before we make sure it isn't around the territory." He strained his ears. He could just make out her heartbeat. Barely. The wound on her shoulder was a nasty one, It wasn't just a scratch, it was serious. She would live. ..Right?
He saw Solacepaw start to lick her wounds. "Sola-" he started to warn. They had to keep their distance. Suddenly Beastpaw lashed out and Sunflash hissed in shock. She was delirious, overcome by pain, no doubt. "Solacepaw!" he hissed urgently. "Are you alright? Stay back!" ((She was the one to get scratched, right?))

[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,000000,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Solacepaw was quickly brought back to reality and realized her fatal error as Beastpaw's claws dug into her pelt. She immediately retreated back to Gloomheart's side. It was then the dreadful pain hit her. The young she-cat had been scratched by other cats before, but this time was much different. The scratches stung with such intensity that bright white light clouded her vision and the only sounds she could produce were pitiful whimpers. She collapsed onto the ground, covering her head with her paws and trembling.
Other cats were speaking, but she couldn't understand what they were saying. Everything was muffled, and the only clear sound she could hear was a high pitched ringing. A cat nudged her, she presumed it was Gloomheart, and she tried to stand....but failed. Her vision began to clear, and she saw Gloomheart's blue eyes before her. She was relieved to be able to see, but the pain was still severe.

[atrb=width,300,true][atrb=border,0,true] | [atrb=bgcolor,2c2c2c,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,300,true]Gloomheart opened his mouth to call Solacepaw back, but Sunflash's voice broke in. They were both too late; Beastpaw dragged her claws down Solacepaw's body. She retreated back, but promptly collapsed and began whimpering in pain. Gloomheart had never seen a cat suffering so much from simple scratches from another cat! There was no doubt about it; something odd was happening here.
He heard Solacepaw's heavy breathing return to normal, so he tried to nudge her back onto her feet to no avail. She did seem to regain consciousness though, much to his relief. Gloomheart looked to Sunflash for instructions, but knowing that they needed to move quickly to save both apprentices, he suggested to the deputy, "Shall I return Solacepaw to camp and let Sagecloud know what has happened?" He figured he could carry either apprentice, but Solacepaw was probably the safest to move....for both her safety and his.

As they reached the scene, Saphira had to pause for a moment with her eyes slowly wideing with horror and found herself taken back by the sickening site. A pool of blood, surrounding a badly torn apprentice with a gash that was twice the size of a cat's jaws and fur that was literally torn from it's body. To make matters worse, the apprentice's eyes were clearly not there but was still somewhat aware. Her silver-tipped ears lowered a bit, a mark of pure horror lit her pool blue eyes and a heavy frown marked her muzzle. She could never imaging how much pain the poor she-cat was in, letting her eyes drift to the other members of the group.
Sunflash, a deputy of pure heart and skill, how would he cope under such a shocking sight? Saphira thoughts seemed to distract her for a moment, only to be shocked to by another yowl that echoed from the other apprentice, Solacepaw. Her head quickly moved to where she was, seeing the she-cat leap backwards with pure fear and pain in her eyes. The light gray she-cat was about to move forward to help Solacepaw but halted herself as Gloomheart reached the apprentice's side. Slowly, her gaze stayed on Solacepaw as the she-cat collapsed onto the ground with her paws on her ears. Even the whimpering seemed to add more worry onto Saphira's thoughts, while feeling helpless to do anything about it. Raising her ears, her gaze shifted from Solacepaw to Sunflash before letting her eyes rest on Beastpaw.
She had barely known the young apprentice, since she had only seen Beastpaw once or twice. But to see her again like this, hanging on between life and death, Saphira didn't really know what to say. A life...why did it have to be her? Saphira asked herself, forcing herself to move forward until she was beside Sunflash and let her mind focus on his words. Dog? Saphira spoke slightly, casting her gaze at Gloomheart as he suggested to take Solacepaw back to camp. At first, she wanted to say no, as if something in her heart wanted to keep whatever it was at bay and away from her home. Though, she couldn't bring herself to say it and found herself turning her gaze back to Beastpaw with worry in her eyes.
How could it be a rescue? How can we save her? Is there a way? All these questions riddled her mind, casting a quick glance at the deputy with her silver-tipped tail barley touching the ground. She could not figure out why she was having this feeling, that this was only the beginning of what was to come and that this would be her most toughest test yet. Silently gazing at Beastpaw, her pool blue eyes showed only a flicker of a flame, a flame of uncertainty.

((So late >>....)) Blazeheart stiffened when she heard the blood-curling scream that made the hair on her spine bristle. She raced after the patrol, smelling the tang of blood and cat mixed together as they got closer. The sight that met them was horrifying. A young she-cat was lying on the ground, her fur matted with blood from the nasty wound on her shoulder. Blazeheart almost chocked as a wind picked up the scent of blood. Just then, Solacepaw was slashed by Beastpaw as the young apprentice collapsed.
Blazeheart's fur began to bristle as this new predicament occured. "I don't think we should move them yet, it might not be safe...."the ginger she-cat suggested to Sunflash. Her eyes darkened as she said this, hoping Sunflash will understand that if they move any of the two she-cats, they might suffer the same as Solacepaw. "We can have Sagecloud come over first,"she added.

Beastpaw's vision seemed to focus in and out, repeatably, teasing her sight with colors and fuzz, then blackness. Her body began to twitch uncontrollably, shivering with infection, poisoned blood. A rotting core, seeming to steal her life with a slow anticipation. Her eyes dilated with fear and realization her life was going to end. Unless, Sagecloud had a cure?! She must! No! I can't die! I can't! Her words were a struggle, as foam choked her. She wouldn't give up, though! She was smarter, she could outwit this pathetic disease eating her life away with glee and selfish desires of her downfall. But she would live! She would! She wasn't going no where! StarClan was not to take her yet.
She tried standing up, on shaking paws, her body vibrating with head, and a evil aura following her, consuming all her sane thoughts. she seemed to be losing all sense; Sight, smell, taste, even! What was this evil, what was this nonsense?! She began to stumble blindly, before collapsing. Why won't you help me, StarClan?! What evil have you cursed me with?! She hissed, a tear rolling down her face, her claws extending into her own pads, blood beginning to pour down her paws. She closed her eyes, and tried to imagine herself standing up.
Though the blind couldn't see, they could have dreams. They could have hopes and love and judge. But, this was different. Blind, heart and soul, eyes and mind. She was loosing this battle, though she was strong. She was strong, no one would deny this. But this damned curse is simply stronger, nothing else to it. It wasn't fair, she was so young! Though she was slipping, she felt life cling desperately somewhere, willing her to live life a little more.
It was looking grim, but she tried to get up once more, to know what it felt like to at least stand before death stole her.

bic:: Meadowcloud wince a little at the growing pains in her stomach. These kits were getting bigger and more restless with each passing day. Wondering where Whirlwind had gone off to, the pregnant she-cat stretched out and gave a small yawn as the sun hugged against her beautiful brown pelt. Going over to the nursery, she poked her head inside and waited for her eyes to adjust to the dim lighted den. Walking in, she felt the warmth and almost tangible love in the air. Looking around, she spotted a nice moss bed that she padded over to and laid down on. It wouldn't be too much longer until she lived in here.
Getting up and shaking the moss out of her fur, she walked back out into the sun covered ground of the Fireclan camp. Just as she was walking to go get a mouse to munch on, she heard a faint scream come across the wind. Perking her ears up and looking around, Meadowcloud tried and failed to figure out who it was that was in danger and need of help. The caring she-cat longed to go out and try and find whoever was in need of help, but she knew rushing out into the thick and spacious woods wouldn't help any. Oh how she longed for the days before she knew she was going to have kits, because she knew she would have gone in a heart beat without even thinking.
Glancing out toward the entrance to the camp, she knew that whatever troubles there were out there would find their ways here. She just hoped to Starclan they weren't deadly ones.
ooc:: Sorry it's kinda terrible but I haven't rped in FOREVER so im a little.... a lot rusty. XP
