A swish of a tail batted the ferns as a streak of black zipped through the underbrush. The creature paused, ears flicking up with an air of caution. No sounds reached his ears and he dared to sniff the air hopefully. But of course, his hope lasted only a little as he smelled the reeking scent of the beasts. Hissing in anxiety lined with annoyance the young cat continued to dart through the forest, as if something was chasing after him.
He finally dove into a large underbrush full of prickly nettle that lined a hidden tunnel. Squeezing through, the black cat emerge with slightly ruffled fur into the Fireclan camp.
His yellow eyes darted nervously around the sunlit, peaceful camp.
Fox-dung...he thought, knowing the peaceful vibe throughout his home was going to break very soon.
"Padpaw?"
Blazeheart raised her head from where she laid dozing, her ginger ears flicking up to suddenly see the tom burst through the tunnel, fur all ruffled. She tasted the air, detecting a slight sent of fear from him.
"What's wrong?"she asked, beckoning him over with her tail as she got to a sitting position.
She noted that Padpaw took on a cautious trot towards her, his eyes constantly darting behind him.
"Well?"she prompted, flicking her ears with slight irritation. Something told her Padpaw did something stupid...again.
"Uh...you know. It's actually quite funny if you look back on what I did. Something we can all laugh about when it's over.."Padpaw began, but quickly trailed off under Blazeheart's stern gaze.
"Okay, getting to the point. I may have...uh....found a fox cub and decided to...um...chase it around....heh...who knew he had parents right?"he meowed, trying to make it sound casual while his ears flattened nervously.
Blazeheart's eyes flared with anger.
"Haven't you learned to keep your stupid antics to yourself? Where are the adult foxes??"she snarled. Her answer was quickly replied by a loud, feral snarl and the pounding of paws. Two large russet creatures burst through the camp entrance snarling with anger.
((Yay! fox battle! join in everyone!))
