"Can't we go back? I'm cold!"
"Oh quit your whining, the rain will stop soon and your pelt will dry...sheesh!"
Two young toms bickered back and forth as they padded into the meadow. The little shivering one had a very thin layer of fur, so thin that from a distance he looked bald. His muscles could be seen quivering and rippling easily. The little fur he had was a soft gray dappled with stripes and spots of black. His eyes were large, and colored a blue-grey.
The larger of the two was a terrifying site. It appeared as if he got in a really bad fight, or perhaps was injured in a serious accident. One of his ears was mostly missing, and the opposite side of his head was missing almost all of its fur. His eyes were two different colors, one green and one blue. The pelt that he had left was colored mostly black with his underbelly being white, and it was much thicker fur than his companions.
"How do you know that the rain will stop? You don't control the weather, Thynnus...."
"I sure do, Jude, just wait and see."
"I may have been a sheltered kit, but I'm not that gullible!"
Thynnus suddenly stopped walking, and looked up at the sky. His odd eyes squinted for a few seconds in concentration, then he tipped his head back down and sighed. He flopped down into the tall grass and rolled over onto his back, just as the rain began to clear and the sun came back out.
"I'll just sun myself a bit now if you don't mind..." Thynnus wriggled around a bit on his back, then relaxed.
Jude shook his thin fur out, and was completely and utterly confused, "Wha...? How did you....? You couldn't possibly have....?"
Thynnus rolled over onto his belly, exposing his backside that was covered in mud and grass, "When will you learn to accept that I'm just amazing?" In all honestly, Thynnus had spent enough time outside to understand cloud movement and his sense of smell to predict weather change.
