Ravenpaw~My time of Dying~//Smallpaw I need you//
Ravenpaw cried sadly, she missed Smallpaw so much, she couldn't live without him, yet here was Cayonpaw doing exactly what Smallpaw would to cheer her up. How she longed to hear his voice, and yet here was Cayonpaw, his voice so different yet filled with the same sense of joy and happiness she only found comfort in Smallpaw's voice. How could this cat sitting here be so much like her beloved brother, and yet look and be different at the same time. Ravenpaw didn't know what to say what to think. What else could she do but cry away all of her sorrows.

He stroked her flank gently, his words so calming and kind, even after she yelled at him and pushed him away. Why was he so nice to her?! Why?! What drove him to put up with her? Didn't he like all the others stray away from her, some giving pitiful looks that Ravenpaw hated ever so much. They didn't care for her and why should she for them? Because she was medicine cat apprentice? Her mentor cared nothing for training her and she relied merely on what she had learned while she was hurt. Did she not live by her own words?

Death is beautiful, it’s loving and kind; it ends your suffering and leaves all the pain behind. Life on the other hand is hard, it’s so hard to live, when everything around you has been taken away, when you have nothing it’s painful, it hurts, your all alone. Death, I am waiting for death, I long for death to come and take me away with them. Every time I get close, life rips them away, and then I have to live everyday in painful memories, nothing is all I have, but as the saying goes, Live for nothing, Die for something, I guess I haven’t found that something yet

Ravenpaw shook her head and moved closer to Cayonpaw, she didn't care that he wasn't Smallpaw he was close enough and the only other cat living around her. She buried her face in his fur and merely stayed there not wanting to look back at the world around her. Her icy blue eyes were closed and she wished they would never have to open again. If only, If only.

Canyonpaw paw took it to be a good sign that Ravenpaw didn't push him or run away at the same time. However, he didn't expect the she-cat to suddenly draw in and bury her face into his shoulder. This startled him that he nearly jumped back, but common sense kept him in place. Being a good friend, he continued to pat Ravenpaw in a comforting manner with his tail, gently tapping her shoulder in a rhythmic pattern.
After a few minutes, he slowly drew back a little in order to look down at her face.
"Hey c'mon, cheer up!"he mewed, smiling.
"Or you're going to soak my fur and I'm going to catch a cold,"he added jokingly, hoping it'll make her smile a bit.

Ravenpaw was glad that he didn't run away. She needed comfort, something she had gone far to long without. He pat her gently, she was... happy? No perhaps just feeling comforted. Maybe.... maybe? Maybe? Relaxed? She didn't know what to call it! She should, she normally had so many words in her mind. Yet at this moment she drew a blank. Ravenpaw sighed a bit. After a few moments he moved back a bit, she nodded slightly though she didn't think she could cheer up. She backed away slightly. "Sorry" She meowed quietly folding her ears back. But Ravenpaw could not smile.

Ravenpaw could smirk easily, but she could not smile. Not anymore. She had lost everything and didn't feel any sense of happiness, so why? Why as she look up into his gentle smile should she want to smile herself? How? How does one smile after what she had gone through? How does one walk away fine? How could she hold her head tall and feel the sun shining on her fur melting away her worries? Ravenpaw sighed, she couldn't, not anymore, if someone helped her perhaps maybe this Raven could get back in her tree where she belongs, but until then she was just a Raven out of a tree.

Canyonpaw's ears flickered with uncertainty as the medicine cat didn't smile at his joke, not even an amused huff from her. She must really be down. Then his ears flicked up quite hopefully as another idea came to mind.
"Come with me. I want to show you something,"he mewed, getting up to his paws. His yellow eyes were bright with excitment and his anticipation seemed to be contagious for his tail was high and a wide grin was spread across his face.
Now would be a perfect time since the sun was shining, it'd be a beautiful sight, and would hopefully create awe in Ravenpaw as it did to him.
"Follow me,"he mewed, beckoning her with his tail.

Ravenpaw blinked a bit, "Okay" She meowed, she wondered what he meant by come with him? She wasn't normally the curious type. She's rarely curious for most anything recently. But the way he spoke, so soft and smooth, she couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to show her. Curse Curiousity! She sighed and got up, her shoulder giving her an ache, but she ignored it swiftly. Her icy blue eyes looked towards him, What could he have to show her? What? Oh what? She followed after him, his tail beckoning her to come.

A grin crossed the tan-furred tom's face as Ravenpaw oblidged to follow him. Feeling more confident, Canyonpaw led the she-cat deeper into the forest, tail raised high in the air. He glanced around to make sure no one was following them as they headed deeper into the woods. Moonclan scent marks became strong as they neared the end of their territory. Without hesitating, the tom crossed the border into unknown territory that has not been claimied by any Clan. No prey seemed to reside here. There were only a bunch of thin trees and shrubs, not the best place for a piece of territory. But that was precisely why Canyonpaw's secret place was-well, a secret. Canyonpaw suddenly stopped before a few shrubs and bushes that aligned a large rock wall. He quickly buried his head into the few shrubs, looking quite funny with his other half of the body sticking out. After a few rustling, his head popped back out and the tom turned to Ravenpaw with a knowing smile, his eyes shining with anticipation.
"C'mon, in here,"he mewed, pushing his way through the shrub. Behind the greenery, and small crevice was hidden behind against the rock. No one would find it unless you were actually looking for it.
Canyonpaw quickly squeezed through, darkness engulfing him as he edged inside. The walls were narrow, squeezing his flank uncomfortably. However, there was enough room to walk through for an apprentice.
"You okay back there?"he called to Ravenpaw, his voice echoing in the dark, rocky path.

Ravenpaw blinked a bit, her icy blue eyes narrowing as she followed after him, curiousity eating away at her mind taking over completely, much like a little kit when they first see leaf-bare. Of course she had been born in leaf-bare so it wasn't anything special for her directly. Most kits aren't born in that time though, it was rare. Ravenpaw sighed a bit, she missed her brother, they always would play in the snow together. "C'mon, in here" A voice tore her from her dream. She blinked, her icy blue eyes looking towards the shrub, "Fine" She meowed and followed after him. Ravenpaw walked inside easily mainly because of her size, her raven black pelt blended into the darkness, all that could be seen were her little blue eyes cutting through the darkness. "I'm good" She meowed back quietly, stalking after him, she wanted to know where they were going.

The dark, narrow tunnel was starting to grow brighter. At the end, light was shining through, the bright hole growing bigger and bigger as they drew closer. Canyonpaw was the first to emerge out of the tunnel, letting out a content sigh as he breathed the fresh air and let the light pour into his eyes. The sight was magnificent. It was just as how he found it the first time. Nothing has changed.
"Here we are,"he mewed to Ravenpaw, hoping she will like the view as much as he did.


The place was absolutely serene. Though it was near the beginning of leaf-bare, the trees still retained their beautiful green colors and the perwinkle blue sky matched the beautiful field of irises. Canyonpaw had discovered this place while venturing out of the territory in his first moon as an apprentice. Only he, and now Ravenpaw, knew this place existed.

"Do you see that red blossom up in that tree?"the tan-furred tom mewed, pointing his tail towards a single reddish pink flower that blossomed on the branch. It was clearly visible among all the greenery.
"It stands out alot. Just like you do to me."

Ravenpaw's icy blue eyes narrowed, as the light came closer, becoming so much more brighter, she hated light sometimes it hurt her eyes. Ravenpaw closed her eyes as they neared the end, her eyes hurting from the bright light, she was more of a darkness kinda cat. A gentle breeze played with her fur, blowing the most beautiful scent of flowers drafting towards her nose. The scent so wonderful, Ravenpaw loved flowers, she was tempted to sigh in peaceful content. "Here we are" Cayonpaw meowed, Ravenpaw opened her eyes hesitently and let out a gasp which was louder then she wanted it to be.

Ravenpaw stared at the sight before, it was.. it was.. breath-taken, even now as she stand here with her jaw forcily closed, sjhe could feel her breath being stolen. She stared out in awe, her icy eyes showing the slightest hint of joy. She drew in a breath and let the smell fill her nose once more, she let out a gentle sigh and felt for once since her brother died at peace. The wonderful smell, she knew would be lingering in her nose for the longest time, "it's beautiful" She whispered under her breath. She glanced towards Cayonpaw and then followed his gaze to the beautiful flower sitting in the tree. She smiled, a true smile, not fake, not forced, not even only slightly a real smile! "Do you mean it?" She asked.

"Well, of course!"he mewed in surprise. "Or I wouldn't say it right?"
He blushed slightly around the cheeks, aware that he sort of confessed that he liked Ravenpaw. He quickly looked away from the Medicine cat apprentice and gazed at the beautiful scene, breathing in the fresh, crips air. His gaze trained on the beautiful red flower in the tree above them, taking in the delicate petals and intricate patterns of the reddish hue that colored the flower.
It was so pretty, just like the black-furred she-cat that stood beside him.
"I'd glad you like it,"he meowed, beaming. "I've never shown this to anyone, not even my brother or sister."

Ravenpaw blinked, unaware of the blush that creeped through her black fur on her face. She couldn't believe what he had said. He basiclly just told her that he liked her. She couldn't like him...could she? No she was a medicine cat know - against her will of course- but never the less she still was which meant she wasn't allowed to love... how would she ever heal with those rules. She liked Cayonpaw, there she admitted it.. in her mind but still. She liked him, but she wasn't allowed to.. if she did he would die just like the others... no she had to stand by her medicine cat ways it was for the best. Ravenpaw blinked, "Not even to them?" She meowed, when Smallpaw was alive, she told him everything, no way she would have ever been able to hide this from him.

"I dunno,"Canyonpaw replied with a sheepish shrug. He interpreted Ravenpaw's question as disapproval. Canyonpaw knew if he told Cougarpaw, it'd be pointless since all his brother cared about was the warrior code and fighting to be the best warrior. Besides, his aggressive brother would probably scold him for being outside of Moonclan territory. Sure, he could always tell his gentle sister Cosmospaw, but she might be too jittery since it'd be outside Moonclan territory.
"This place just seems...too special to show them I guess,"the tan-furred tom muttered, realizing he sounded a bit selfish. And maybe he was a little. This place was just too...peaceful to let any cat know. Of course, the medicine cat apprentice was an exception.
"You won't show anyone right?"

Ravenpaw glanced towards Cayonpaw in surprise, she figured he wasn't as close with his siblings as she had been with Smallpaw. Smallpaw and Ravenpaw's minds though a bit different worked on the same level, they could always tell what the other was thinking without needing to say it. Which is most likely why they had always gotten along so well. Ravenpaw nodded her head slightly, she guessed it was okay, she didn't know but whatever if he didn't want to tell them that was his choice. She blinked a bit, "Why would I show anyone?" She meowed, "that would ruin the point of it being a secret" She laughed slightly.

Canyonpaw let out a light laugh too. "I suppose you're right,"he mewed, smiling. His amber eyes gazed back to the beautiful scene, sitting down. Blushing a little, he scooted closer to Ravenpaw, hoping she wouldn't draw away. His pelt touched hers and his tail flicked Ravenpaw's shoulder in a friendly manner.
"So what's it like being a medicine cat?"he prompted, glancing at her with mild curiosity.

Ravenpaw sighed, "Well it's not bad" She said. He had moved closer to her, their fur touching, she blushed under her raven black fur, his tail flicking her shoulders, she returned the gesture gently, her tiny tail flicking him back. "I mean it's nothing like being a normal apprentice, I just not used to it, no fighting, everything is about peace and junk" She said, she wasn't a peaceful cat. "And you have to learn all about these herbs and everything" She frowned slightly, she didn't like that part, but she didn't mind the flowers to much at all.

Canyonpaw listened, letting out a sympathetic mewl as he listened to Ravenpaw.
"It sounds alright. Although I admit, no battle training is kind of boring. But at least you know how to heal wounds. And the Clan respects you for that,"he prompted, glad that she returned his friendly gesture. An idea crossed his mind and he grinned, mischief sparking his eyes.
"C'mon, I'll show you how to fight!"he urged, leaping into a crouch and letting out a mock growl.

Ravenpaw sighed perhaps Cayonpaw was right the clan would respect her for healing their wounds, now if only she could respect her mentor. But her mentor needed to earn her respect if anything. She smirked a bit, "Show me to fight eh?" She chuckled, "I know how to fight" she added, "Don't be mistaken that I don't know how.." she trailed off, and glanced at her shoulder, "What will I do about my shoulder?" She meowed curiously.

"You don't have to worry about your shoulder,"Canyonpaw reassured with a grin. "I won't hurt you. Besides, I know your tough enough not to let a wound like that bother you too much,"he added.
"C'mon, show me what you got!"he urged enthusiastically. He quickly darted towards Ravenpaw and gave her a gentle cuff around the ears.
"See if you can beat me! The Greatest Warrior in Moonclan!"Canyonpaw boasted, puffing out his chest proudly as he dubbed himself thee.

Ravenpaw blinked and then smirked, "Oh now it's on!" She said softly, she couldn't help it Cayonpaw made her happy, what more could she need right now then a challenge to take her mind off of life. She blinked a bit, "Best warrior in Moonclan?" She meowed curiously, then chuckled, "You mean next to me" She countered easily, and then batting him back on the head with her tiny paw so much smaller then his own but just as strong. She felt a spark renew, her fighting sense, she missed when she felt like this all the time.

"Hah! I'll prove that I can be a better warrior than you!"Canyonpaw challenged, a playful gleam in his eyes. He let out a startled yelp as her paw cuffed his head, flinching back a bit. He let out a mock growl and lept at Ravenpaw, gently nipping her tail while he batted his paws at her back.
This was the best part of being an apprentice. The soul was full of youth that incites play-fighting. A trait that is both beneficial to training and to the mind.

Ravenpaw almost laughed, but smirked, he playfully nipped her tail and batted her back, she moved back a bit, the wind blew in her direction, her beautiful raven black fur rippling in the wind, her blue eyes glowing as if each held their own universe filled with stars no one dare try to count. She smiled leaning more on her good shoulder then her bad, she leapt towards Cayonpaw her one paw out stretched to hit him. She had almost forgotten the wonderous feeling of fighting, it felt much better to have a chance to do so again.

Canyonpaw tried to dodge the blow, but his paws slipped under him and he ended up falling down. He landed face-first into the soft grass, feeling Ravenpaw's blow smack him on the head as if to scold him for his clumsy maneuver. Thank Starclan she wasn't his enemy.
Canyonpaw flipped over onto his back, exposing his belly and letting out a mock groan of defeat.
"You beat me, I surrender!"he meowed, raising up his paws to show his meaning.

Ravenpaw smirked towards him, "Now who's the mightiest warrior in Moonclan?" She meowed towards him jokingly, of course she was no warrior, but she did pack a big punch if you weren't ready for it. She stepped down on her bad paw, wincing slightly, curse her shoulder, but still never the less, in the face of fun, she couldn't help but try to ignore it, she hated her shoulder, but she wasn't about to let it ruin all her fun.

"You just wait,"Canyonpaw growled, flipping back onto his belly to face her with a gleam in his eyes. He had a confident grin on his face. "Watch me become the Greatest Warrior in Moonclan!"he bragged. The tom whipped around and pounced onto the trunk of the tree. Claws digging into the bark, he hoisted himself up the tree like a quick lizard. Using his hind legs, he pushed off the trunk and scrambled, rather clumsily, onto a branch.
Using his tail to balance, he stood there with proudly, chest puffed out and head held high.
"I will become the mighty Canyonstar! Leader of Moonclan!"the tan-furred tom announced, looking down proudly at Ravenpaw.
"And you shall be Ravenmoon. I dub thee deputy of Moonclan. Together, we shall make our Clan the greatest!"he yowled out, pretending to hold a ceromony.

Ravenpaw looked at him, her icy blue eyes watched him quietly, how he sounded like Smallpaw, her eyes tried not to show sorrow, how could she not remember him when he spoke just so much the same...

Smallpaw smiled at Ravenpaw, “Look we’re already apprentices! Next up Warriors!” he meowed excitedly, Ravenpaw nodded, “yea I can’t wait to get my name!” She said, Smallpaw nodded, “If I could have any name it would be Smallshard” he meowed, “Cuz it sounds cool” he purred, Ravenpaw giggled, “Yes it does, maybe I’ll be like Ravenpelt or something” She said, “Ravenmoon suits you better” Smallpaw smiled gently, Ravenpaw blushed and nudged him, “I do like that name” She meowed. “And maybe one day it will be Ravenstar, the best leader in all of Moonclan” Smallpaw purred, Ravenpaw smiled in awe, “Just so long as there is a Smallshard to be my deputy” she said, “Leader and deputy it is then!” Smallpaw smiled, “We’ll show this clan that we may be small, but our hearts are as big as all of Starclan!” he meowed, “Starclan!” Ravenpaw purred and tackled him, they rolled playfully.

She dipped her head to him, "Oh mighty Cayonstar, I am your deputy in all obedience" She meowed playfully back at him, she, herself, now would never make a good leader, or a leader what-so ever, not with her shoulder the way it was.

"What's this?!"Canyonpaw suddenly yowled out, jumping to his paws and looking ahead at Ravenpaw with wide eyes. He quickly slithered down the tree and was soon by Ravenpaw's side, his eyes still wide with some pretend shock in them. The gleam of amusement in his amber eyes showed he was still playing along.
"You say Fireclan is attacking?"he meowed to Ravenpaw.
"This will not do Ravenmoon! Come with me my loyal warriors and we shall show them who's the best!"the tan-furred tom shouted, racing away towards the field of flowers though he kept his pace slow enough for Ravenpaw to keep up.

Ravenpaw resisted the urge to giggle, but he was just so funny, she didn't know why but she couldn't help but feel always happy around him. Perhaps his smile the way he talked? It just reminded her so much of Smallpaw it was rather scary, but in a way it was uplifting and happy. She smiled and nodded her head, "Fireclan indeed is attacking" She meowed, her twin pools of icy blue looked at him, "I shall follow you to the bitter end" She meowed and limped after him.

"Great Starclan!"Canyonpaw suddenly yowled out, leaping into the air like a shocked rabbit and jumping aside as if enemy cats were swarming around him.
"An ambush! Ready your claws! Fight for your honor! Fight for your Clan! Show these mangy flea-bags that we're the best Clan!"the tan-furred tom yowled out. He lept at a tree and batted the bark with a claw blow, imagining it to be a cat's pelt.

Ravenpaw tried not to laugh, she really tried hard, but couldn't help but give a tiny giggle, she nodded her head, "Attack!" She cried. And limped to a tree striking with her good paw because surely if she used her bad one against a tree... well that might end badly. She really had to speak with Shadowsong about finding a herb that made the pain go away for ever... wait? talk with Shadowsong.. had to? What was wrong with her, she was still trying to avoid her, wow she really was in a good mood.

"Good blow!"Canyonpaw praised, grinning towards her. He ducked as if dodging an invisible pawswipe. "Watch out! This cat is fast!"he warned, darting closer towards the tree and slashing his claws, creating a deep gourge into the tree trunk.
"Watch this awsome move!"he bragged, leaping up and doing a twist in midair, trying to grab both claws around the tree trunk as if it were an opponent's head. However, he had lept too low and he stumble and crashed onto his side instead of landing gracefully on his paws.
"Oof!"he grunted, rolling onto his back. Thankfully, he just got a quick sore that was slowly going away.
"Er, I meant to do that,"he mewed, ears flattening in embarrassment.
